***EDITED - to updated itinierary etc!
Hi,
I hope to contibute some useful comments and information to these threads in the near future.
I'm Laura and I'll be going, with DH, to Japan (for the first time) in June of this year.
30th May - Fly to Osaka airport via Amsterdam.
31st May - Arriving at about 9am we'll travel to a Hostel/Ryokan that we're staying at in Osaka then investigate, with no real plan.
1st - 5th June - Stay in Osaka and probably buy a 4 day train pass for that area which we'll use for a day trip to Himeji Castle & Kobe and another day trip to Nara. We aren't planning to visit Universal Studios Japan as we've previously been to the ones in Florida and California and feel ok with missing it - we can always buy tickets when we're there if we change our minds.
6th June - Leave our luggage at Shin-Osaka train station and take an overnight bag to Koya-san. We'll stay over at a Shukubo/temple lodging.
7th June - return to Osaka in the afternoon and take the train to Kyoto where we'll stay at another Ryokan/Hostel.
8th - 9th June - Kyoto, we're not planning any day trips from here so we can do/see as much as possible in Kyoto itself.
10th June - travel to Tokyo where we stay in a hostel that used to be a 'Love Hotel', hopefully we'll arrive early afternoon and spend the evening investigating.
11th - 15th June - Stay in Tokyo and take day trips to Nikko and Fuji-san.
16th June - Check out very early and travel to Tokyo Disney Parks, leave our luggage at the welcome centre and spend the day in Tokyo Disneyland, then check in to the Hilton near by. (SO with I had the budget for an Alice in Wonderland themed room.)
17-18th June - DISNEY! The 17th is in DisneySea then the 18th we can go in either park.
19th June - Check out, fly back to Manchester via Paris - arriving back early afternoon that day.
