Have you ever done the guided bass fishing trip in Disney? If not, you should check it out once your son gets a little older. The fishing is okay (lots of fish, but small), the best part is being on the lake in front of the Magic Kingdom fishing. I would love to have the job as a guide down there. After our last trip, I could have done a better job guiding then our guide did. I am still trying to re-teach my son how to fish the correct way.

No not yet, but I've always wanted to, and it's on the list for our December trip...It's my dream to catch a 10 pounder then hold it up in front of the castle, that'd be cool:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I hear the ponds at EPCOT have the bigger fish though.

I have, on the other hand, lost numerous golf balls at the Disney Golf Courses:lmao::lmao: (then went on to use my "not so Magical" languate:rotfl2:)

I fish down around the area a lot in local and regional tournaments, Toho, Kissimmee, Butler Chain, some of the other smaller lakes too...not to mention Istakpoga is about another hour or so south, and then there's always Okeechobee....So far, my bass boat if off limits to Garreth---due to WIFECOM DIRECTIVE 5543.21-J:scared::confused::lmao:

I'm headed back to the sandbox August 1st, and get back in December, but if any of you guys happen to come down next spring/summer and want to wet a line, lemme' know!!!

ok, last week i got a letter from my discover card. my acct. may have been compromised. i called, what does that mean? just what it says, we are sending you a new card, new acct. number and you may use your card till you recieve your new one. i asked,"should i destroy this card now?" no sir, please use your card till you get your new one in the mail.ok, i stop at home depot today, im purchasing an american flag, its $16.00 plus tax. i go up to the cashier, the place is pact!! im sorry sir, your card is no good!!! what? try it again, i have a 15k limit on this thing and i have a $0 bal.! she tries it again,"nope, no good, you can call the number on the back to find out why." i nicely said oh i will!! i call discover, after the shabang of typing in all there info, i get george on the phone, tells me my acct is closed. i (nicely) ask why? "your new card has been sent in the mail." i didnt get it yet and the last guy i talked to when i get the letter told me to use it till my new card comes in the mail. oh, im sorry sir. just activate your new card when it comes. i told george,"no thank you, please cancell the card! "would i like to talk to an acct specialist?" nope, close it! wow, tried to pass me to another person and at that point i had to hang up. so, i better not still have a discover acct.! that has never happened to me before, wow, you feel like a jerk standing there and "your cards no good." thanks for listening!!:mad:grrrrr

I'm surprised they told you to keep using your card until your new one came in the mail---normal standard procedure on Credit Card Fraud Issues is to immediately cancel the card so that nothing else can be charged to it, but they should have told you that immediately.

They also should have told you if anything had been charged (Fraudulently) to your old card just in case a denied payment came through from a vendor to you. Just to say it "may have been compromised" ain't good enough--it sounds to me like it was definitely compromised---

This type of stuff can be very, very aggravating....just thank god someone didn't open up an account in your name--that can be really fun to deal with :headache:

Check your credit!!!

the odd part about the thing was the first guy told me that they get info from other card co. and that nothing was charged to my acct. they are just doing this to be on the save side. i thought it was strange that i could use my old card. i should have known better! i have credit watch, i would get an e mail if someone would try to apply for credit under my name. we only have 3 cards between the two of us plus gas cards. i dont do anything over the computer, im a check writter!!! i know they can still hack into you but i try to keep that stuff to a min. thanks!:thumbsup2

I had this same exact thing happen to me last year, problem was I was trying to book a trip in that same week.. Wanted to use that card for points, I called the company and got the same story you did. They released the card for the one purchase :thumbsup2and then closed it down and sent me a new card. They did say that someone tried to use the card and that this was a proactive move.

Its too bad they handled your sitaution so poorly.

Thinking about joining your tribe here, but need to clarify the above quotation first:

Are you stating that you find yourself more "excited" about WDW than you find yourself "excited" about your wife?

Because if that's the case, I'm not sure I belong here. However, if you meant your excitement about WDW is greater than your wife's excitement about WDW than by all means, I have found a place I belong!

:lmao: I didn't catch this phrasing the first time I read it. DW first, then WDW second! HAHA! Welcome to the club!

G'day to all the Dis Dads. I have only just seen this today, and am a newbie to the Dis. I would like to join the rather extensive list of Dads on the boards and be a Dis Dad myself. What does it take and what do I need to do?

I haven't read the 3640 messages before this one with the exception of the first entry and I must say that I would cover at least half of the criteria. We have not been to WDW yet (DL a few times), but are planning a big trip there next year plus a cruise.

I'll pop in from time to time and say g'day when ever I can.

:upsidedow

Very nice to meet you, arje! Sounds like you are right at home with us...welcome!

You guys are all sick........and I'm right there with you! :thumbsup2 My 19 month old has been to Disney 4 times so far and we already have trips for September and December booked. Nice to see there are other "sickos" out there besides me.

Oh my! 4 times at 19 months?!? That's awesome! (And I'm jealous ;)) Welcome to the club!

:rotfl: That reminds me... DW and I were on the couch last night and she brought up a conversation that took place between her and my SIL in Ohio. My Bro and his wife are checking out different vacations for some time this fall and were considering Myrtle Beach or something like that. Anyway... SIL tells DW that it will cost about $2000 for a week or so down there. Not sure about the details as far as where they planned to stay and all. but then my DW turns to me and says "But we were able to stay at WDW for 8 days for about the same price. Why wouldn't they want to go to WDW instead?". You should have seen the smile that came over my face :goodvibes I think I'm slowly getting to her!

This is soooo frustrating! They should not had said you could still use it. Not sure if you've ever had your card actually stolen before, but it is a horrible experience. I think I've mentioned this before on the board, but on a trip to WDW many years ago (just DW and I) we were at EPCOT and I was trying to purchase a baseball hat at one of the stores. Tried to pay for it with the only credit card we had at the time and the lady politely tells me the card is declined. Well, after 2 more attempts I get on the phone with the card company. Turns out we had DW's card stolen from our room (by the hotel's housekeeping - this was off-site) and they charged over $1000 in less than an hour. They max'd out the card.

Fortunately, the card company reversed the charges that day or we would have been without food for the next 2 days! And AFAIK they never caught the perp. The hotel refused to do anything. I was MAD! Anyway... we always use the safe now :thumbsup2

Hook, line, and sinker. Just get her to suggest the next trip and its done!:lmao:

Thankfully my wife is as bad as me when it comes to vacationing at Disney, now I am trying to get her to not think its weird to want to go on a cruise with other Disers.:rolleyes1 She just dosen't get it ........yet!;)

HAHA! OH NO! Not with other like-minded Disney fanatics! :lmao: Does DW have a DISBoards login account?

BTW, i just finished reading your trip report. Looks like you guys had a great time, I was just imagining being at all the places in your pics. I am looking forward to reading the rest.(no pressure):lmao: My wife has been asking for a last minute summer trip, we were hoping for a longer trip in Jan next year but you never know. If we can swing it, you just never know. I had better start planning.......just in case of course;)

Yeah... no pressure :thumbsup2 Thanks for reading and I know I need to "Kick it up a notch". But don't say I didn't give a warning at the beginning of the TR :rotfl2:

I love the "JIC" scenarios. That's how we got there this year!

wow, ya, no reason other than they get info from other cards. which makes no sence to me. anyway, its now gone. the only reason i had one was so i could use it at the sams stores. at one time they only took discover. now i just write a check. people in line roll there eyes when they see the check come out but i fill most of it out before hand.
