The Gulf State Park DISMeet 2017 Thread (aka "The Sequel")

Ed congrats on the race. Sounds like it was almost good weather. When it's windy it always seems to be a head wind.

I did want to post my update. i called GSP, i do have a ressie. i am coming in May 27 till June 3 and we are in site 93. Just over a few from where we were last year but i think we have a shady tree.

It's been a busy week. I am in San Antonio for work and head back thrusday night. Friday morning we drive to NOLA for the marathon and drive back Monday.

Chart updated.

I got Nic's site number off last year's Gulf thread.

Thanks ed. Official update, ran my goal was aiming for sub 4 and smashed it. Ran 3:54:03. I guess I need to goal plan now. Yes, my brain is thinking Boston qualify. It is Mecca for runners and never thought I would be able to do it.

Looks like the new Pirates of the Carribean comes out Memorial Day. Might have to hunt up a theater. :scratchin

Bummed that we can't join you all. We have a cruise planned for May and a week stay in Key West in June, so I don't think we can squeeze in another vacation ........unless we win the Lottery. You never know:P.

Well now Disney has released the Official Opening day for Pandora as May 27. Something else to factor in with our get together. As I stated before if I have the time to go. I'm hoping for an AP preview but Disney has seemed to have not done that perk as of late.

Well you won't exactly be suffering, Terri. A relaxing cruise and a week's stay in Key West (also relaxing) means you won't be missing us too bad.... :beach:

An AP preview would be nice, but pass holders perks are far and few between. I will be happy just to get a fast pass when they open up. Honestly, Avatar was not favorite movie of mine, but after watching the construction go on forever, I really want to see what took so long, lol.

I'm trying to decide, as much as we grilled last year I was debating loading up the Holland grill and bringing it with us.

There's a large one at the Wharf. Been there a couple of times. It's nice. I'm in for a group outing. https://www.carmike.com/al/wharf-15-orange-beach-al

And Gulf Shores has a theater complex too. It would be fun to see it together, Flametamr.

I have to come clean and say that I avoid Orange Beach and its condo towers, naked commercialism, and land grab culture whenever I can. Orange Beach keeps approving condos over its approved zoning limits (developers ask for an "exception") so they can squeeze the most people into the most expensive condos they can sell. Then they punish Gulf Shores and Gulf State Park for not accommodating their traffic problems.

But I digress.

It would be fun to see a Pirates movie on Opening weekend. Or during the Opening week.

Well, there ya go. As it gets closer we'll have to figure out a time that works for us.
There's one date...

Yeah, count me in for the movie. popcorn::

I just called GSP and double checked my reservations, remember last year that Tiggerdad booked a site but never was assigned a number, lucky catch for us when Nic went to book and was offered Michael's site. Anyways my dates according to GSP are 5/25 thru 6/4 site #26, Nic, aka Dirty White Boy, aka DWB dates are 5/27 thru 6/4 and he's in site #28. Sorry Ed about the wrong dates before.

Got some good news this morning about my camper, someone put down a deposit on it, so hopefully by Tuesday it will be gone and I'll start camper shopping on Wednesday, may even check out some very cool looking A-Liners...

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and what kinda trouble we can get into!:thumbsup2

Well there was a long delay on the construction of the plastic wooden canoe's that held up the ride opening.....maybe they also had a hard time sourcing water ?? Hiring cast members who are blue is also extremely difficult, truth be told.

Tiggerdad, she IS beautiful. Definitely proud dad moment!

Randy I can see the appeal of toy hauler.

I am on dog duty basically all month. It's rough I have to walk them one at a time so I am constantly walking dogs or working.

Micheal,

Emily is a pretty girl. They don't do that up here. A southern thing I guess. I showed her pic to Ian. His comment? "Does she like Miatas?" :-)

Randy,

My old team owner still has the team toyhauler for sale. It's a 42 ft Heartland Cyclone, 16 ft garage. Big enough for a Miata. It always worked well for us. And it has an automatic Direct HD satellite antenna on the roof, so no more shows at GSP. :yay: Or are you looking at new?
