Tips for new DVC owners?

Hey all,

My husband and I finally pulled the trigger on 200 points today. It is our first DVC contract. We are very well versed in WDW and AP, but clueless on the ins and outs of DVC. We did do a lot of research but I feel like there are always “hacks” that owners know that Disney will never tell you about. Please share ANY and all tips with us! We generally travel just the two of us, we are in our mid 20’s with no kids (yet!).

It you find you can’t use your points it’s easy to rent them.

Aulani, we aren’t big planners. So I would never plan anything 11 months out and we paid a VERY good price per point. Basically only 2000$ more than a comparable stripped resale contract

Keep in mind that if you are planning on WDW instead of Hawaii, that studios at many of the resorts are very scarce at 7 months. One bedrooms can usually be had most places.
