TR - WDW, Disney Fantasy and more

Interesting info and informative pics as always. Now we found central Seattle when we visited around 1999 similar to what you heard and observed in Memphis though others disagreed. For us we saw far more rubbish, boarded up shops, beggars etc than we had at that time in any other city (and probably compared to any since). It is sad that Memphis seems to have fallen on hard times but I suspect that might be the story of a few US towns now?

Dare I say.....what a cool update??? ;)

Stay warm. Beignets look great; as does the Mardi Gras museum. Pity about the French Market. I wonder if it's different at the weekend.

I have a feeling that it would. The place was not only empty of tourists but also of vendors.

I was tempted to buy some beignet mix. But hey, how hard can it be to make my own choux pastry and deep fry it?!?!

Now that we've continued driving through other towns and cities, Memphis was pretty bad. It is sad as it is a city with so much potential.

I hope there were no lingering effects for Elliott.

Your 3rd day at Nawlins looks great. How amazing to find a WWII museum there.

Thanks for sharing. Loving the pics and the food porn.

Elliot was fine. The WWII museum was so good. I would recommend it to anyone who has any sort of interest in history.

Enjoying your trip report!

Thanks! :wave2:

We're about to hop on the Allure of the Seas for a week so this will probably be the last updates until we hit California. Have a good week all!

It sounds like a wonderful end to you road trip. So many happy memories.

I love that photo of blue on blue. Simple, yet really effective.

I hate to say it, but I suspect the person in the bear coat was homeless. It's possibly easier to wear all your possessions than carry them.

Have a great time on the Allure. I can't wait to hear what you think of it, especially in comparison to the Fantasy. I'd love to do the Allure or Oasis one day. Something in my memory tells me that you have one of those amazing suites that look out the back of the ship at the acrobatic show???

Great ending to your road trip. The Everglades is wonderful and I love the images you captured there. The picture of your family is one of my favourites in this set; as is blue on blue.

Glad that Elliott is better.

Enjoy the cruise and catch you when you get to Cali.

Loving this TR just as much as I always have loved your other TR's Shushh. Have missed getting updates while you were on the cruise but hope you had a great time and look forward to reading all about it

Hi All,

Thanks for coming back to check on the rest of the trip.
Wanderlust, a special thanks for making sure I'm ok. I really appreciate it. I apologise for not replying earlier. It always seems that as soon as we come home, all time disappears! I'm not quite sure where my time has gone as I don't seem to have much to show for it...

I'm trying desperately to finish off the last of my blog. I have drafts all up, it just needs to be finetuned and photos added. PIO I still don't know how you do it in so much detail AFTER the trip. I can't remember things post hoc!

Anyway, here is the latest installment. Very late I know...but first day onboard the mega ship Allure of the Seas.

I just have no words to describe that ship - it's like a floating Vegas!

Your room looks amazing :goodvibes

Wow, it looks amazing!!!
I would be interested to see your comparison between DcL and RC.
I nearly booked on oasis of the seas on our upcoming trip, but eventually choose celebrity reflection as they had the free all inclusive alcohol and drinks package, you are making me second guess my choice:goodvibes

Welcome back!

Glad that you're back on line and I love the latest installment. That ship looks great.

(And I keep a journal during the trip.....:thumbsup2)

Zanzibar it really is like a floating city, more so than any other cruise ship I've been on. The extra width gives it so much more scope to make interesting spaces onboard

No no don't second guess yourself! The new celebrity ships look amazing. It's difficult choosing a ship in the Caribbean and Med sailings as you're spoilt for choice. That's where most new ships start their sailing career. I will be writing a little more on differences between cruise ships/lines on my blog later. But the fact that so many things cost extra did bug me even though I know that this was offset by a lower cruise price initially.

Hello! It's good to be back :) Journal is a good idea. You must write an awful lot!!!

If I have time tonight I'll put up a few more updates.
