There are ice makers in the freezers, but most of the time they are not full when you show up.

Health code requires that ice in the units be dumped out between guests.

We just came back from the Treehouses...forgot the ice maker would be off when we arrived so no ice...called the front desk and they told us we could fill our ice bucket up at Artist Palette, so you don't necessarily have to buy ice for your arrival.

You can fill your ice bucket at the Grandstand building which is closer if the THV doesn't have a machine in the common area.

Depending on how much ice you need you may want to consider going to Old Key West... We needed ice for a small ice chest and went to the Miler's Road pool area. Its about the same distance as SSR or maybe closer. We actually tried to buy ice at the store at OKW but of course they don't sell it. Chose OKW because its easy in and out to the store if you are in a vehicle.
