Vegas with Teens - Would you splurge?

Was wondering how the trip went! Sounds like a lot of fun.
We generally stay in non casino hotel/timeshare. My favorite is Marriott Grand Chateau as it’s next to Planet Hollywood. But we’ve stayed off strip too. And can’t thing of casino resort we stayed at once- I really didn’t care for it so I’m blocking it from my brain!
Zip line down Fremont is excellent! We’ve also done the Lync, roller coaster in NYNY and ate at the Paris, and the Big Shot on top of the stratosphere. My favorite place to gamble is actually Excalibur. And lots of shows. Hoping to get back to Las Vegas this year with my DD who turns 21 in October!
The conservatory in the Bellagio is one of my favorite places!

So the million dollar question is: did you LOVE vegas or just "like" it?

Probably somewhere in the middle. It's nice to do visit somewhere new, but I think our trip was too short. We checked in on Friday, checked out Monday. I know there are a lot of shows that we didn't have time to see that we would have liked.

wow, why yes... i think more time is needed.

@NinaBella thanks for that report. Some of it sounds similar to what we want to do when we go this year. How was that MJ Cirque show? We also plan to hit In Out Burger and Carlos Bakery at least for their cannoli filled doughnut..lol.

But it definitely sounds like it changed from the last time we want there as far as the sidewalks. We plan to use Uber as well so I am buying gc's ahead of time.

Everyone raves about the MJ Cirque show. People leaving the show before us and people leaving ahead of us after the show all loved it. We really liked it. My kids knew most of the songs (which is why we choose it) and my husband is two years younger than MJ so he grew up with his music and likes him too. I have to say I do wish there was more acrobatics, but I also read that in other reviews before we went. I am also a bit biased in this area as my daughter is a level 5 cheerleader so the tumbling in the show, except for maybe three tumble passes were below level 5. The camp she goes to each summer (Camp Woodward) also has the air track, super tramps, and slack/jump lines used in the show. So although the average person in the audience was probably super impressed by everything, I have seen the same impressive skills before. I don't think the Cirque MJ show had the highest level tumblers on staff that they employ compared to other Cirque videos I have seen.

Overall, I would recommend the show and think it was well done.

Well I definitely appreciate that review. I'm hoping we will be ones impressed by the show as I have heard a lot of good reviews about it as well.

We leave tomorrow and I was able to score buffet groupons for bachannal at Caesars and Le Village at Paris Hotel.
Have fun! We went to Le Village while we were there Memorial Day weekend, The crepes are delicious, the rest just ok. I was very disappointed when I got there and they considered the day we were there a holiday and would not honor the Groupon but would only give us the face value to use towards the meal.

We are doing dinner at Paris on our last day (Saturday night). Do they serve crepes at dinner? For Bacchannal, we plan to do brunch.

I feel like we ate at the Paris either very very late afternoon or dinner time, and they had crepes. It seemed like a permanent station to me.

Yummo. I will report back! We'll also be trying Hash hash a go tomorrow night. I'm pretty excited about that. I'll post a detailed trip report upon my return.

I am looking forward to hearing about Hash House A Go Go since I really wanted to try it but DH veto'd based on his co-workers reviews of the large portions and his google searches of the pictures of the food.

We had lunch there today. I had the sage chicken and waffles. Massive massive portions. Tasty food. Great service too. We plan to do the one in Orlando in August.

So far having tons of fun. We did Fremont street and container park.

Yesterday we did the linq promenade and high roller. We also took a free walking tour of the strip through nomad walking tours. Highly recommend! Finally we did brunch at bacchanal buffet at Caesar’s. Wow, it’s still amazing. Very unusual dishes like fried frog legs and bone marrow. Also yummy dessert station. Highly recommend.
Today, we are in Arizona and Utah doing Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend via gctours.net.

I feel like I'm living vicariously through you guys... I can't make any plans for our weekend trip until we know the race schedule at the speedway. I know we'll spend time there, but I won't spend as much as DH will with his friend. I'd love to do a walking tour.

We had an amazing time in the National Parks! We’re back at the Delano. Today we swam at the Mandalay Bay pool (it was 77 degrees today!) and had dinner at Bayside buffet. We walked around the Luxor and Excalibur. Tomorrow we are leaving for the Palazzo and will do Fashion Show Mall.
