WE'll be at VB soon and it's the first trip we are taking without DD20. DS17 is really close to his sister and is starting to balk about going without her. He's not interested in doing much with his 13 yo brother. It would be great if there are other older teens there to hang out with- but I know it's not likely. Any suggestions of things a 17 year old might enjoy? He'll likely swim about 15 minutes daily & might spend 45 minutes a day at the beach. Then, he'll be bored!

If he is the type of kid who needs constant stimulation, Vero might not be right for him. you should see about moving your reservation to WDW. Vero is a place for people who want to unwind and enjoy the beach, pool and simple family activities. If you can't change this late in the game, maybe see if he can bring a friend his age (if you have the room). You may decide that instead of him being miserable give him the option to stay home with a trusted friend or relatives. Our son 22 had a blast boogie boarding with his younger sisters and did not want to leave Vero last year for WDW at the end of our trip, so you never know, he may really enjoy it.

My opinion where kids are concerned is it's we adults who work hard all year and need a vacation, and kids are lucky to be able to come along for the ride.
