WDW for Couples - Post your questions and suggestions here!!!

If you have a large family it would be worth it. I got it for my DFi and I for his first trip next month. I don't mind getting it cause the ride pictures are included and those are always fun. Especially ToT with other guests expressions. Which I hear if you have MM then you will get a video of TOT ride! I am going to make sure we stop at many photographers as I can. I know I don't mind the cost for his first trip.

This has the info for MM.

Guess I need to get to reading here. DH and I are heading to down in December for our first adult only trip. We've taken DGD numerous times but never been with just us. We are so looking forward to it. First thing I did, after settling on WL for our stay, book one of the tours that are for 13 and up only. We picked the Holiday Light tour, since we are going in December for the lights and decorations

The hardest thing I'm finding is shifting our planning focus from planning around things a 6 yo likes to things grown ups like. I figure this thread is a perfect place for that

Well, the time has come... DH and I leave 9/23. See you in the rain at Food and Wine...

DBF and I are heading to Disney for 5 days in February and I am thinking about getting the Memory Maker... is $149 worth it? I am thinking it might be so we can both be in the photos as opposed to one of us? Just seems a little steep... thoughts? experiences?

Thanks!

I don't think we are going to have a choice before too long. The new ride photo and video on 7DMT is only available with memory maker. Since you aren't going until February you have time to wait it out and see if this happens with more attractions.

What a wonderful trip you have planned. I stayed at WL in December 2013 and it was fabulous and gorgeous.

Trust me it shouldn't be too hard to find plenty of things not centered around a 6 year old. I bet World Showcase will be seen in a whole new light by you this time around. Most 6 year olds don't like to tour world show case like an adult does.

Hello - I love the idea of this thread and have just spent the last 30 minutes reading through it all!

I'd like to introduce myself - dh & I are huge disney fans from across the pond! ( early 40's)

We are unable to have chn but do have 5 very lively active dogs:rolleyes:

Our first ( one of a lifetime ) vacation to wdw and the states was back in 1998 , we stayed of site and was hooked - we returned the year after and stayed at the then Dixie landings resort. We also purchased our DVc ( boardwalk) and booked our honeymoon for 2000 - old key west and a disneycruise .

We can't come every year due to the price of airfare .

But I think we've visited wdw around 9 times - we've also taken 7 cruises. We added on to our DVc with SSR .

Due to work and health we've not been to Wdw since Aug 2011. But we are soooo excited as we are booked for next April 2015:cool1:

Serenity Bay ( the adult only beach on disney's Castaway Cay) is my favourite place on earth.

Next April we are staying at the villas at WL for 8 nights, then we have a 3 night cruise, followed by 3 nights at Boardwalk :cheer2:

When I'm stressed I take comfort planning our vacation .

At first people questioned why go to Wdw when we didn't have chn , but when I explained about the service, experience & showed our photos they got it!

We are at BLT April 18 to 25 before our cruise on the Wonder. May be we will run into you.

Closing in on our big adult only trip - so excited! I've noticed my data usage has spiked on my cell phone since I'm using every break at work to peruse MDE, DIS boards, stream disney music via Sorcerer Radio & chat on TP chat... Lol
Excited!!!!

Yay! Long time lurker, first time poster because I love the idea of this thread. My DH and I are newlyweds and I am slowly converting him to a Disney-aholic like myself. No kids anytime soon, but that doesn't bother us.

We live about 3 hours away, are APs, and go up at least once a month. That was my Florida resident present to myself-- Disney Passes! :cool1:

At any rate, I love seeing that we aren't the only childless couples doing things like CRT and Meet and Greets! Yes, I feel awkward sometimes, but where else are you going to get to act like a child.

Plus, if we decide to have children, I will be so much better equipped to plan their trips from all these years of "research" :goodvibes

I'm slowly planning our adult-centric trip
Day 1 (Arrival day) I have VIP seats for DH and I at ESPN Club
Day 3 I have booked the Holiday D-Lights tour for that night
Day 4 we will drink around the world at Epcot

Hi! I wanted to introduce myself! Like Mrs Jobba1 a couple of posts back, my partner and I live in the North east of England. He has grown up kids from his previous marriage, and I have none. We do however have a multitude of pets (dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, donkeys and alpacas to be precise :) ) and their care has been one of the things that has made it hard for us to go on vacation for a couple of years.

I have been to WDW 8 or 9 times over the years, after being hooked on my first visit in 1991. Apart from one trip where I took my nieces (then 11 and 5) I have always been on a adult only trip. My partner and I have been 3 times together, the last time in 2012. We have been unable to go since then, but have just booked to go to the Yacht Club at the end of April 2015!! This will be our first time staying at a Deluxe resort and only ,y 3rd staying on Disney property. The YBC has been the place we have really wanted to stay at each time we have been, so this is s dream trip for us! I have already started planning, and linked my reservation to MDE :) We also have that issue where other adults look at us with that fake smile and say "how nice" when we say we have booked to go to WDW yet again, and wonder what the heck we are thinking, but we just love it and it is nice that so many here understand.

I am looking forward to learning stuff on this thread, as well as sharing what I already know :)

Hi Debs
We will be there the same time:goodvibes
R u flying from Newcastle ?
We r trying the Thomson Dreamliner for the first time.

Ok
I'm looking for any suggestions for something exciting / different to do on our last morning-

BUT

We won't have a car and we won't have any park tickets left!

We will be staying at BWV , our cases will be all packed and we plan on leaving luggage with bell services so we can do something.

Our town car will be picking us up approx 2pm from boardwalk as our flight leaves 18.30 from Sanford.

I don't wanna waste the morning but need some suggestions -

Any ideas are really appreciated - perhaps is there any activities / tours at a disney resort - the day will be a Thursday

Thank you for your help .

Hi :wave2: Oh, that's good!!! No, we aren't flying from Newcastle, the day we wanted to go was the day they were fully booked on the flight :( We have to travel to Edinburgh and fly via Gatwick which is a bit of a chore, but we live near Rothbury so that is easier for us than Manchester. You are on the BW too? :)

We have a split stay - VWL (8 nights) then 3 night DCL , ending with BWV

MrsJobba1: Close from the Boardwalk is the Fantasia Fairways Mini-Golf that DH and I love (there is an "adult" course that it very challenging and fun, but we tried the family one and it was really fun as well). If you have a vacation package, you might have a coupon that you can use there, I think it's 50% off. Coupons or not, it's affordable.

Of course, there is always Downtown Disney with Splitsville (Bowling and Pool Tables, great ambiance!) or Disney Quest (If you have the package, you should receive coupons to get free tickets there are a lot of classic/new arcades but there is also a drawing class where you learn how to draw characters, I loved it).

You could also visit Animal Kingdom Lodge, I think they still offer a tour... there is also animals specialist that can answer your questions about the animals you'll find on the site. We loved it.
