What did you bake today ? OK if not from scratch

Working with rye flour today. It’s actually quite nice for some pastries?!?
Read an article about Scandinavian baking which lead me to the usage. Not really cognizant about northern European baking so when I found a French recipe I was in more familiar territory. Made a gingerbread called nonnettes of rye and AP flour and it was pretty good.
Need to play with finishing techniques a bit (less glaze, more marmalade) but I liked the cake texture and it was simple to make once I finished grinding the spices.

This is my first attempt and sorry for the bad photo. I’m “one handed Jack” right now and it’s really difficult to take a pic

Such talent and the poster is an amateur! I’m gobsmacked in a good way.

Nanaimo bars. I mentioned them during a departmental retreat in December (we needed to bring a picture of something that wasn't obvious but was about us - I'm the only Canadian and I love to bake and had taken a picture of nanaimo bars at a bakery here because I was so surprised to see them). After I explained what they were, I promised to make them. I had to wait for my shipment to finally get here with my baking supplies and they finally came, so I made good on my promise.

I don't bake but once or twice a year. My husband LOVES to bake and tries out new, from scratch items all the time. Recently he made sour dough started and babied it for weeks and then made an incredible sour dough French bread. For Valentine's Day he made Mary Berry's Cherry Cake, which he has made a few times before. It is a dry cake but the flavor is awesome.

Going to make some Pretzel Toffee Bark on Tuesday night for work on Wednesday. Fingers crossed it turns out okay as I saw the recipe on the internet and never made it before. If it's a hit I will report back...if it's a miss I will lay low LOL
I realize I'm replying to myself. LOL. I thought this came out great and I got rave reviews from co-workers and DH. Here's the link https://www.justataste.com/toffee-pretzel-bark-recipe/ Super quick and simple and the few ingredients in the recipe are basic ones that I always have on hand (except the pretzel rods).
