What is your absolute most favorite moment of being on a Disney ship?

Cruising out of the port, waving at the Fish Lips camera....PURE. BLISS. :cloud9:
Probably a stupid question but I have become addicted to watching the web cam so now I want to make sure I am in a position to wave to the camera but I am also seeing many people say the Sail Away party is their absolute fav moment so now, with this being my first cruise, I am torn.....is there a way to wave to Fish Lips and not miss Sail Away at the same time? Thanks!

We have only sailed once a few weeks ago. For me it was that feeling in Port Canaveral “OMG we are moving” and standing with others on deck 4 waving to people on shore and waving at coast guard boat escorting us out.

On our trip it was raining sonthe party was in the lobby. It was crowdwd and loud so we much preferred then going on deck 4 and waving. IMO the sailing away party is more for little kids who need to see Mickey and Co. we have seen and done that millions if times. In fact didnt do one character M&G while on board. We just aren’t fans if Disney dance and sing a long shows. Even in the parks. Had it been nice weather we probably would have gone a deck up to watch the coast. It really depends on what you’re into. I recommend you watch a YouTube video of a sale away party and decide if it’s your thing. Add another note we really did enjoy the pirate show. For us that was something different

Love watching the Disney staff on shore wave goodbye to us with the Mikey hands and also love all of the door decorations. I just went on my first non-Disney cruise and I really missed both of those things!!!

We experienced the sail away in the lobby too, will avoid it at all costs going forward. Extremely crowded, can’t see anything...
DH and even DS don’t care for the party anymore either, not even on deck. First of all it hasn’t changed so by cruise number five it’s sort of boring. We enjoy the horn.
However next time we will likely make our way to deck 4 to watch us sail away. On the last cruise we were up on the pool deck, but DS was on slides while I was having a drink somewhere..
For first timers though if you can and it’s not raining I think it’s worth checking out.
I’m with you though, generally don’t care for it now. DH really doesn’t anymore;)
Some love it the 20th time the same and it’s a must-do for them.

I have to admit that in 9 cruises we have never watched the sail away. I would like to though, just to hear the horns, but otherwise it doesn't appeal to me.

I go up on Deck 12 on the Dream Class (and would do Deck 10 on the Classics...my one time on the Magic so far sail away was in the Atrium because there were HEAVY rains all early afternoon and though they were mostly stopped, it wasn't in time to get things set and they were too wet to be safe) so I can experience the general vibe without being in the mosh pit. (That's also where I go for Pirate Night.)

If it is your first cruise, then I would suggest not to miss the Sail Away Party up on deck. Once you feel the boat starting to move, then you can go and wave to the camera, if you wish. The Sail Away Party just gets all of the excitement going, especially after the mandatory muster drill is out of the way. Fortunately, we have never been completely rained out not to experience the Sail Away Party out on deck. I think if it did rain, then I would just go and sit out on my verandah and watch the boat set sail.

Or they could go on Deck 12 or 10 depending on which class they're on - they can experience the Sail Away Party AND be able to wave to the camera. They're just not in the mosh pit of Deck 11 or 9.

So many wonderful moments have been mentioned. I love Walking into my cabin and setteling in. 5 times on the wonder in the same cabin.
(different itineraries) Feels like my home away from home. :cloud9:
