The view is only important to us if that's part of the vacation.I don't usually go for the view from my hotel rooms as I don't usually spend a lot of time in them. We did have a view overlooking the parks from the Hilton Tokyo Bay. I mean, immediately I could see a parking lot, but I could also see Space Mountain, the Castle, Big Thunder Montain, The Arabian Coast at DisneySea, and the Monorail line that surrounds it. I'll call that not bad!
We are not ones to sit in our room and look at the view, but we do spend lots extra to stay inside of the National Parks where we have gotten really lucky to get rooms with amazing views!!
-Right on the rim of Crater Lake at Crater Lake National Park Lodge.
-Right on the rim of the Grand Canyon with amazing views.
-Yosemite National Park Lodge with a view of the Yosemite Falls.
-Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier National Park with views of both the lake and the stunning mountains.
-Kalaloch National Park Lodge in Olympic National Park, awesome views of the Pacific Ocean.
-I cant remember the name of the hotel even though it was just two years ago, but it was on the water in NJ with gorgeous views of NYC! Just stunning. We could see the Statue of Liberty too!
and last but not least!!
-The Boardwalk, where we ended up with a balcony twice as big as everyone around us and had a great view of Illuminations every night!
Not to totally derail this thread, but the Hotel Del is not all it's cracked up to be. I was at a conference there two years ago, and 80 of us became violently ill after eating truffles prepared by the hotel (truffles identified by the health department as the source of illness). I'm currently involved in a class-action lawsuit against the hotel because of that incident. Ugh - I hope I'm never that sick again! Now that is a nice hotel!
