When outside the 31 day period, are there any limitations on canceling a reservation?

If you are well beyond the 31 day cancellation period, are there any limitations on amount of time you can cancel and rebook a reservation either at the same resort or another resort?

Not other than if your banking deadline came into play. Still no restrictions on booking and cancelling itself but if you were past your banking deadline then you would have to use the points before the end of your UY.

Canceling 31 days out or 10 months out results in points going back into your account as is, current use year points remain current use year, banked remain banked, and borrowed remain borrowed. If you are beyond your 8 month banking window, you will not be able to bank points. Moreover, if you are beyond your banking window, you face a risk of losing points simply because it may be real difficult to get a reservation before you use year ends.
