Before The Story I am sorry for the girl's family here is the story:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
A young woman died Friday night at Rye Playland in New York on the same ride where a 7-year-old girl lost her life three years ago.

The 20-year-old woman, who was not immediately identified, was on the Mind Scrambler ride at about 9:30 p.m. at the Westchester amusement park. It was not clear if she hit her head or somehow fell out of the indoor ride, which spins riders quickly while strobe lights flicker to the beat of loud music.

Police were still investigating early Saturday, and no details about the circumstances of the accident were available. The woman's name was not released because her family had not been notified, and it was not known whether she was riding the Mind Scrambler alone or with friends, Westchester County Police spokesman Kieran O'Leary said.

The ride and a surrounding section of the amusement park were closed after the accident, but the rest of the park remained open, O'Leary said.

In May 2004, 7-year-old Stephanie Dieudonne, of New Rochelle, was killed on the Mind Scrambler after wriggling free from the restraining bar while the ride was moving, the New York Post reported.

Dieudonne was kneeling on the seat and was thrown off once the ride started.

The Mind Scrambler was shut down for nearly a month after the girl's death and went through an extensive rehab, which included adding seat belts, better lighting and an additional attendant to oversee the ride, the Post reported.

This is the second major accident to occur at an amusement park in this country this year, after a teen's legs were severed last week while she was on the "Superman Tower of Power" ride in a Kentucky Six Flags park.

The park is located on Long Island Sound about 20 miles north of the George Washington Bridge in Manhattan.

RYE PLAYLAND SHOCK
June 30, 2007 -- A young woman was killed at Rye Playland last night - on the same ride where a 7-year-old girl died during an outing at the Westchester amusement park three years ago, authorities said.

The 20-year-old patron, who was not immediately identified, was riding the "Mind Scrambler" at 9:30 p.m. when she died from injuries sustained while on the ride.

The accident was the third death to occur at the park since 2004, and the second on the "Mind Scrambler" ride.

It was not immediately clear if the woman hit her head or somehow fell out of the high-speed ride, which spins riders around underneath a tent while strobe lights flash to the beat of blaring music.

Medics, firefighters and cops rushed the scene and attempted to revive the woman, but she died from her injuries a short time later.

The ride - and the immediate area - was closed to the public while the woman was being tended to. The rest of the park remained open until 11 p.m., its normal closing time, Westchester County police said.

An investigation into the death was expected to go throughout the night and more details were expected to be released this morning.

Rye Playland opened for the summer on June 23 and will remain open through Labor Day.

The park, which is located off Exit 19 on Interstate 95, was expected to remain open today.

Representatives from Rye Playland, which is owned by the county, were not available for comment last night.

In May 2004, 7-year-old Stephanie Dieudonne, of New Rochelle, was killed on the Mind Scrambler after wriggling free from the restraining bar while the ride was moving.

Dieudonne, who rode her favorite ride repeatedly that day, kneeled on the seat and was thrown off once it was set in motion.

The Mind Scrambler was shut down for nearly a month after the girl's death and went through an extensive rehab, which included adding seat belts, better lighting and a second attendant to oversee the ride.

A year later, in August 2005, another 7-year-old boy died at the park while riding the much tamer "Ye Old Mill" boat ride. Jon-Kely Cassaras was somehow knocked out of the placid flume ride. He banged his head and drowned.

This is the second major accident to occur at an amusement park in this country this year.

Last week, a teenage had both of her legs severed while on a free-fall ride, "Superman's Tower of Power," at a Six Flags amusement park in Kentucky.
