Mark, these are all great, but I particularly like this one. And your backyard is gorgeous!

Here are a few of my faves, as Mark said, not because they're the world's greatest pictures, but because they bring back great memories:

Handicap18 - love your fireworks pictures! As a complete beginner, would you mind sharing with me how you got them? Equipment and settings?

Thanks! I'm afraid I'm going to drive everyone crazy with questions galore...!

LOVE IT! Not only is she absolutely adorable, but she knows what team to follow!

:)

Thank you very much. Everytime the Pats score a TD now she knows to go into this pose and yell real loud!!!

Thats why we're here.

I use a Nikon D50. The night I took that fireworks shot I had a small tripod set on top of a trashcan near Casey's Corner. I used full manual and set the ISO to 800 (which I though was 200, but I must have left it at 800 after the Spectro Parade), Shutter speed was 4 seconds and aperture (f/stop) was f/10. This image I croped from a horizontal to vertical to get ride of a bunch of the useless stuff on the sides. I think I took 45 or so pics of that nights Wishes and got 4 or 5 that I really really like. That is typical of fireworks photography though.

Back on topic. Here is one more picture of DS and my cousin. I've taken many pictures of them together like this, but this is my favorite. When they're together you can't hardly seperate them. 9 weeks apart, they're like brothers.

We-Luv-Disney,

Your castle and fireworks picture is ONE of MY favorites ever! I love it!

I have already learned a lot of my mistakes looking at everyone else's pictures. Number one being take the stupid date off the pictures:thumbsup2
It does not look good once you look back. Also pray for more sun in Great Britain or really learn how to play with my camera!! :rotfl2:

great shots everyone!

wow... it was so hard to decide on a precious few out of the 22,306 shots filed in Aperture for 2006 (many of these were sports shots that were taken as 'work', so they don't necessarily have any emotional ties). so i've come up with my favourite 11 (with some commentary):

2006 was a great year thanks in part to my discovery of this board. i took quite a few shots at various Disney parks and really discovered how subtlely beautiful the parks are.

this first shot is by no means a technical masterpiece, but i love the colour
2006_KT2A8486.jpg

i also had a great opportunity to take a photo of my 3 kids (at the time)
2006_KT2A8592.jpg

i spent quite a bit of time taking in the beautiful city i live in - such as doing a lot of walks over the Sydney Harbour Bridge
2006__T2A3395-Version2.jpg

and hanging out in underground train stations
2006_museumtrainblurnoise.jpg

i also renewed my annual zoo pass
2006__T2A6675.jpg

i spent most saturdays shooting various sporting events. i saw the thrill of victory,
and the agony of defeat
2006__T2A0697-Version 2.jpg

as usual, i spent a lot of time travelling. this included destinations in Australia such as Adelaide, Perth, and
Melbourne
2006__T2A4301.jpg

i also spent a lot of time overseas in places such as the US, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and
Japan
2006__T2A5183-Version3.jpg

i also went with my DW to Argentina, where i discovered beautiful scenery in a
cemetary
2006_KT2A9366.jpg

we also saw a riot in Plaza de Mayo
2006_KT2A9462-Version2.jpg

lastly (and most importantly), 2006 saw the birth of my son, Kalen
2006__T2A7061-Version2.jpg

so i look forward to more shooting in 2007 - Disney, family, and everything else.

0bli0,

I didn't know about the birth of your son. Congratulations!!!

You seem to have about the opposite situation as us. We cannot seem to have a boy. I bet your girl is a true Disney princess. We have three DDs and have no plans for trying for a boy. I am completely out numbered in my house. Even the dog is a girl.

Kevin

well now i have to wait for a lot of commentary posts since no way i am posting my pitiful group directly after oblio's masterpieces :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1 :lmao:
