Wow! we could've used that...

Well, now that you mentioned it. I was kind of thinking the same thing. Seems like it would be find for home use, but not very convenient or discreet for a public restroom.

Actually...I have the same question if any of you on here have used them for more than one month.

I know I've only used them once, and one other poster said that too. Where is the OP? She has probably used them more than once. :confused3

ANYWAY..I am a teacher, so I was off for the summer when I used them last month....and I was thinking the same thing...what am I going to do at school NEXT MONTH?

The brochure that comes with the cup says it DOES NOT have to be rised out every time you use it, and it will still be sanitary. It talks about public restroom use in the paperwork. I'm just not sure how I will feel about "just wiping it off." Seems a little odd to me, but since I really like the product, I thought I would give it a shot for one month, but carry back-up items with me if I don't care for it.

....I wonder if you could use wipes..that may be an option...not too sure about that...we'd need to get the nurses' opinions on here to answer that one before trying...

ANYWAY...BACK TO THE ORIGINAL TOPIC OF THIS THREAD....I like the Dixie Cup idea for splitting drinks, and have any of you seen the wholesale lot section of Ebay? Last time I looked, they had a lot of glow lots (i.e., bracelets, necklaces, etc.)

I don't know if they'd be any cheaper than the dollar store....or if the big quantity would be worth it, but I do know they carry them there.

Make that four of us! I just started using the DivaCup last month and I love it!!

Uh 5

though I use the Keeper... my DH calls it my golden snitch

anyhow, been using one for about 6 years now... never thought this topic would come up here though.

The nurse here chiming in.........my opinion for just wiping off Diva........I'm sure it is much more antibacterial than say a tampoon left in too long and causing toxic shock syndrome........overall I believe this product will be much more clean and sanitary than absorbant products.....this may be one of the reasons women who have used aren't noticing an odor......if the idea of wiping off is unappealing then my suggestion is this........before going into the stall fill a dixie cup (someone here suggested carrying these for drinking but certainly they can have other uses) and then rinse in the cup while you're in the bathroom stall and dump the water in the toilet after use then dispose of the cup and no will ever know........if that's not big enough I was thinking maybe a denture cup or small tuperware that you could put water in and carry in your purse or backpack.....or if it really bothers you buy a second diva and then you can clean the first properly back in you room just drop used into a ziplock......last suggestion is if bathroom isn't too busy maybe you could use the family bathroom with it's own sink.

hey how about a new thread for divacups? It's time we get back to the original topic.

I'll second that...twice now in the last 2 days I've come to this thread while eating at my desk on break at work, only to have visions of bloody feminine products come to mind. Yes, I'd like to lose weight, but not THIS way!! :rotfl2:

You guys are right--I'm surprised it went as long as it did! I guess after the original posted mentioned taking one, it got us all (me the most) off topic! Sorry!

To the nurse that just replied...I had those same ideas too, so thank you for confirming them and adding some new ones! Thanks! :teeth:

At least you knew what they were talking about. One minute I was reading about some kind of pure water filers and the next I saw Divacup. I just assumed it was another type of water bottle that filtered drinking water. :lmao: I just want nice tasting clean water without having to lug so many bottles of water around or stand in long lines to get bottled water. So I immediately googled these Divacups (at work mind you) and couldn't figure out why the tags (you know the brief website description) were mentioning things like mature woman, etc etc. :scared1: I came back to the Dis to see if I had the name right and I did. :sad2: I was so confused. :confused3 At least I only clicked on 1 site, it was the wrong thing and clicked off quick. I'm now just going to pretend there is only one company that sells water bottles with filters for purifying drinking water and not look at any other websites for any other type of bottles or "cups". :teeth:

Sorry if I helped to contribute to bringing it off topic. Just had some questions about it because it's just something that I couldn't really see working for me. Thank God for Seasonale. But I guess that's TMI.

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday, and they had glow bracelets for $0.88 and various colors of glow sticks for $0.44.

I can't remember if it was mentioned in this thread or another thread, but golf balls really do help achy feet. I tried one out last night a long day on my feet. The golf ball worked much better than my foot massager.

Now THAT is too funny! I love it! :lmao: :lmao:

one more post about the "cups" - if the thought of using it and reusing them is yucky to you... try what I use which is instead... they are the best thing ever! I actually learned about them on Oprah many years ago. You use them then trash them. http://www.softcup.com/

DON'T FORGET YOUR LANYARD!!!!!

Dh is the ticket holding man. He also collects pins...one per trip to commemorate it. Well, he forgot it last trip. By day 2 he bought another one...had a bottle holder which was awesome, but he was mad he only had the one pin and had to shell out for another lanyard. When our next trip was a month away, he put his lanyards on his closet door knob along with his Hawaiian shirt to wear to 'Ohanas so he won't forget this time!

ALLERGY MEDICINE!!!!!!

Last time we were in WDW the palm trees were blooming. Needless to say, being from the northeast, this is not a type of pollen to which I have any immunity............. :headache:

I wish I had brought plastic bags so when I went to a buffet and didn't finish it all I could just stick it in a plastic bag to save for a snack later! Oh well I'll have the chance in August popcorn::

Okay...I wasn't going to do this, but I think I have to stick up for this poster! Please don't flame me!! :goodvibes

My initial response was "what??"...but when I got to thinking about it, I don't think she meant she was going take the baggie to the buffet line and fill up! :rotfl: I think she meant more like a traditional doggie bag use...to take a few items that are already on her plate? Is that so wrong??

I know that if my kids pull one their usual "I'm not hungry now, but as soon as we leave the restaurant and all this food behind I will immediately begin to whine about how starving I am" stunts...then I would love to have a little bag to slip their uneaten grilled cheese or chicken fingers into. I mean, it's not like the CMs are going to take uneaten food off our plates and put it back in the buffet!!!!

Am I totally off-base here??

Anyway, I'm loving this thread. I have gotten so many great tips!! Keep 'em coming!!

I second the poncho idea, but I buy the cheap 79-cent ones in the camping section at Target. They're pretty much "disposable", and I learned to always have one with me after experiencing Hurricane Wilma last fall. The night before the hurricane officially hit, we were caught in a huge deluge. I couldn't believe how hard it was raining!!

It's nice to know I'm not the only one to buy the cheap 79-cent ponchos in the camping section at Target. We've taken then with us on every trip but they really came in handy last year during Hurricane Wilma.

I agree. Any food on your table will be thrown out when you leave, so why not take the waffle with you? Just don't make a last trip to the buffet to fill the plate with doggy-bag stuff. It could get a little gooey though esp. if hitting a park right afterward.

Rule of thumb in any restaurant when dealing with unlimited food: the first round is fair game for doggy bagging. It's the refills that are a no-no.

One more thought, not something to BRING, but to BUY...

Rental insurance on that rental car. I know, most people shake their head and say "my own insurance will cover it" or "My visa has that protection" but During Hurricane Charlie we went out to find a place with food and upon returning our "great spot" was taken. In the AM afterthe hurricane that SUV that had taken over the parking spot had a good sized tree limb on top of it. I wouldn't have wanted to be fighting with my insurance company or Visa for months afterward just to make sure I was covered. BTW - We did have the insurance as I had learned my lesson the hard way after UHaul duped us for pre-existing damage.

Oh please, girl! I am with you all the way!

We've been known to take our food back to the hotel refrigerator at times....I can't stand letting all that food go to waste!

We would keep it in our hotel fridge and snack on it as wanted and/or needed! I say take your leftovers with you! :teeth:

I'm all for taking leftovers back to the room too! Actually, we will only be doing one buffet this trip and I don't plan on saving leftovers from the buffet. But for our other meals...you bet! DD8 is notorious for not eating much when we eat out and I don't expect it to be much different at Disney. Plus we'll be on the free dining plan so I know we'll be getting too much food at each meal...why waste it?! If I have a slab of prime rib left or my DD has several untouched chicken tenders, you bet we'll save them for later. Breakfast of champions!!
