I know I should be sleeping but with all the talk of beverages, I thought I would look up some Pirate Cocktails for us! Here are a few I found that I thought sounded good:

PS: Lisa .. I hope this is okay to post

Fuzzy Pirate
1 1/2 oz spiced rum
1/2 oz peach schnapps
4 oz orange juice

Build over ice in a highball glass.

After a few of these I think all the pirates on the ship will look a little fuzzy! :rotfl:

After a few fuzzy pirates ... We may want to enjoy:

Dead Pirate Seaspray

1 3/4 oz coconut rum (malibu)
1 3/4 oz coffee liqueur (tia maria,kahlua)
1 tbsp whipped cream

Pour the Malibu rum and Kahlua into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake vigorously, and strain into a cocktail glass. Top with whipped cream. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, and serve.

Last call could be:

Angry Pirate

1/2 oz peach schnapps
1/2 oz coconut rum (malibu)
1/2 oz blue hawaiian schnapps
1/2 oz melon liqueur (midori, melloni...)
1 oz apple juice
1 splash chilled soda (7-up, sprite)

Pour the peach schnapps, coconut rum, Maui Blue Hawaiian schnapps, Melloni and pineapple juice into a mixing glass half-filled with ice cubes. Stir well and strain into a cocktail glass. Top with chilled 7-Up, garnish with lime, and serve.

Finally one for us wenches watching our waistlines:

Skinny Pirate

1/4 lemon
3 oz. Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
5 oz. Diet Coke (or Diet Pepsi)

Coat highball glass with juice of 1/4 lemon. Mix rum and diet coke (or pepsi for you pepsi fans) over crushed ice. Enjoy with half the guilt.
Enjoy, Baby!

Enjoy!

Well, it has been a long day here. I have to get the kiddos to school a little early tomorrow so that I can go get my hair chopped off at 8. I might go to the chiropractor for an adjustment afterwards. My back has been feeling weird lately. Night!

Good night!

Ya kno...

... I have been wonderin' about that... with whether or not to bring the kids. Our girls are 3 and 6 in May ... so I thought they forbid really young ones fro going.

I was reading the website a few weeks ago and recall the recommended age is 8 and older and no kids under 5 are admitted.

DS came in crying a little while ago. He has a big bruise/burn on his head that is turning into a goose egg along with some scrapes on his hands. They were playing soccer & two of them ran into each other. He ended up falling head first onto the pavement. :( I guess that it is roadburn then. :( He is sleepy and his pupils aren't dialating unless I shine a flashlight right at them. He didn't say much for almost 20 minutes but now he wants to play his GBA. I guess if he can see that well enough to play, he is ok. OY! If it's not one thing it is another. I had to pull up WebMD to see if I should take him to the clinic or not. I already warned him that I am going to be waking him up a lot tonight.

Although this is technically 7 hours after the fact...

... with subdermal hematomas to the head you should not allow him to sleep immediately after the accident. You're looking for him passing out (from internal bleeding in his head). Plus other signs of trouble are vomiting and ... there's another sign but I can't recall exactly what it was now.

last september my younger daughter fell out of the stroller and landed on the back of her head. The 1st aid folks at Seaworld in Orlando were nice but offerred no adice other then to NOT LET HER SLEEP and head for an emergency room. We called my BIL who is a 7 board doc who teaches at one of Harvards' medical schools. He's a pediatric critical care board certified specialist - among 6 other specializations. And he suggested the period of observation was up to 96 hours with greater intensity in observation for the first hours and day. Oh yeah... you look for different dialation sizes (???) between the eyes or disorientation on time especially if you think your son passed out at all.

We opted NOT to go to an ER because they could not diagnose or counsel anything further then this ... and it would have cost us a few 100 or 1000.

If you need more info because of a protential crisis ... go to the emergency room or call 9-11. I can call my spouse when she lands and ask her what the other cardinal signs are for observation on a child following a head blow and large subdermal hematoma. She lands in about 90 minutes. I'll PM you any info to update this...:rolleyes1
