Day 7 of my icebound captivity. Going to the store. Have a good day, everyone!

Aww, they are so beautiful!
I always wonder how come kids that are 12 already have braces. How does that happen? Don't they have to have ALL their permanent teeth before getting braces? I know I had braces early, BUT they had to pull some baby teeth and wait for permanent teeth to come out and pulled some of those too! (I have less than the normal amount of permanent teeth now) Then I got braces (and an expander, but I have tried to keep that memory out of my mind as much as possible). I had a narrow mouth and high roof of my mouth.

ANYWAY, my daughter is now 13 and she "may" need braces, but they won't even consider it because she hasn't lost all her teeth yet. In fact she only recently (like a week ago) lost her first molar.... she has a ways to go before losing all her teeth. So did your daughter already lose all her baby teeth or go thru something like I did, or get braces before she lost all her baby teeth or what? I've always just been curious about this, so I thought I'd ask you if you don't mind answering.

Both our girls started getting their teeth early which meant that they lost them early. Madison got her braces on when she was 10 since she already had her 12 yr molars. My youngest is 6 and she already has lost 10 baby teeth with at least 6-8 permanent teeth have come in. Her mouth is a mess. She has all of these big teeth in such a small mouth. She will probably get her braces on by the time she is 8-9.

We're in the same boat as BIP. Our DS13 still has 3-4 teeth to lose before the dentist will even look at braces. He has an appointment tomorrow so we'll see how it stands then.

No, not at all. Kind of thing I could see in my formal living room, if I didn't have a four-year-old who makes every surface she touches a grimy mess, so we don't have a formal living room at the moment. It's currently just home for the fish tank and the kids' music stuff.
:lmao: Wanna hear a funny? We've had this "formal" living room set (which btw does include pieces that aren't FLORAL, LOL) for many years. Let's see... 9yrs? I think so, because we bought it while I was pregnant with my now 9yr old son- so over 9yrs. It's made it thru all the kids going thru those "messy" stages because it's always been off in a formal living room that the kids didn't really "live in" -we've always had another living room that we did most of our "living" in. Now at this house it's more in the middle of the house, and the kids do spend more time in here (bigger tv than their bedrooms and DH always watches stuff in the den that they don't want to watch) but they are older and wiser... don't be messing with mom's formal living room set! LOL

Of course, I was being sarcastic in commenting on the couch INSTEAD of commenting on your pets. (Didn't want you to think I was being completely nice).

Oh I wouldn't ever think you were being completely nice.

:grouphug: Hoping DH feels better soon! Have you tried an orthopedist? DH has problems with both rotator cuffs and our Dr recommended one since that is their specialty and just a regular Dr isn't as up to date on treatments. Keeping all of you in our prayers.:grouphug:
Thanks for the prayers.
He has to go to his regular dr to then get referred to get the MRI, go to specialist, etc. It's how our insurance works. :(
Dont say that , you will drive BIP crazy with a statement like that ...

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Nah,I know he's in the next movie. I figured you meant like for stunts and that just bummed me out- he should do his own stunts dangit! LOL

Well I guess that explains it. She didn't get her first teeth until a week after her first birthday! And my other daughter didn't get her first tooth until 14mo old. I'm not kidding either... LOL
I'm not sure what you mean by having her 12yr molars though- had she LOST all her baby teeth before getting the braces? Ruby has her 12yr molars now but hasn't lost all her baby teeth. She still has some to lose...

I think this may be why they pulled some baby teeth, waited for permanent teeth to come in and then pulled some of them (because of the same problem mentioned above- big teeth/very small narrow mouth... believe it or not LOL) before giving me braces. I think if they'd waited for those to come out on their own, it would have taken forever! As it was- I was still in braces till my senior yr in highschool and had retainers (yes, plural... semi-permanent retainer on bottom teeth) when I graduated. That's with pulling teeth out early to get the braces on! My teeth were a mess.
My eldest daughter's are not really that bad- so maybe that's why they are not willing to do things like pulling teeth. Who KNOWS when she'll have all permanent teeth...

OK. I figured how to put our picture in my siggie! I tried yesterday and got really fustrated. It's a good feeling when the light bulb goes on! :lmao: Hey, a 12 year old showed me how to put music on my MP3 player. You can teach an old dog new tricks! :cool1:

Well I guess my Sweet Melissa has made plans for me today ...Looks like I will be painting our bedroom today ..LOL (rather be mattress flipping):lmao: :lmao: ...But Saturday I installed new Carraige lights outside of the house and we are starting to hit all the projects we need to do this early spring ...So I will be on and off the board today ...but I am always watching ..:lmao: :lmao:

Morning.. :surfweb: Happy President's Day to all..

Not much going on here - Geoff is still asleep and Eric is sleeping over at his friend's house that took him to Chestnut skiing..

So things are quiet.. I'm gonna work on a resume today and get that ball rolling ..

Happy Birthday John!!

And Prayers and PD to all who are in need..
I am going to Ketchup on the last 100 pages or so..

And NOW I should go take a nap... I was up all night (because when I would normally retire- late..is exactly when my wittle Rita decided to wake up and say her tummy didn't feel good. I think she just had to do a... um... I won't say but let's just say we're having issues with her holding it, which is not good for the um.. nevermind, you don't need to know) and so I stayed up all night, got the kids off to school even though Jeff is off and just laying on the recliner napping (okay so I give him a break since his shoulder is killing him :rotfl: ) and then I had to spend FOREVER trying to get DH an appt around his work hours and 2 kids dentist appts scheduled around their school (the dentist seems to think it's imperative that I take my kids out of school for teeth cleanings, I don't think so!) and then took Tramp for his yearly vaccinations and stuff... and Rita has a dentist appt at 3pm & pick up all the kids... yada yada. Point being I haven't slept yet and won't get to sleep long either... still more to get done today before the 3pm dentist appt!

Talk to you all later. Be good today. :)

Does she have any tips on how she gets you to work???????
I'm always trying to get DH to do what needs to be done.
Usually the only way I can get it accomplished it by totally freaking out and screaming like a banshee!!!!!!!
Which by all means I do not like to do....but after a year of asking nicely to finish the molding in the br I HAD IT:mad: I snapped and it was done the next weekened.

Hmmmm maybe I should lose it more often

I'm not sure what you mean by having her 12yr molars though- had she LOST all her baby teeth before getting the braces? Ruby has her 12yr molars now but hasn't lost all her baby teeth. She still has some to lose...

Yes she lost all of her baby teeth by the time she was 9yo. I think that they waited for her 12yo molars to come in since those are the last teeth to come in for awhile, but not always. My youngest lost her front teeth (top and bottom) when she turned 4.

DW's laptop died. :sad1: We used that gift card to buy a VAIO and this one has also died...the HP and VAIO both developed broken power jacks. So now, we're waiting to see if they are going to repair (unlikely) the unit or authorize a refund. BUT!!! She's not interested in ANY computer at CC this time...no, this time she's going to contact a friend who works for Dell and go with them!

DS has a VAIO, we have had it for about a year. No problems, hopefully it stays that way. So sorry, I can tell you are really frustrated.

Off to the movies for now!!!! Going to see Bridge to Terabithia with my boys.
