So we get this FRANTIC phone call from our old neighbors across the street on Sunday. "There are people in your house!" huh? We (finally) got an offer on our house, made a counter offer and struck a deal! :yay: It's been on the market since late November. I shouldn't complain, other houses in our old neighborhood were on the market long before ours...and still are! :sad2: Closing is slated for Feb 28.

Anyway, the problem is that now that the house is under contract, NOBODY should be in there!! There shouldn't be any open houses and certainly no other real estate agents should be using the lockbox to get in! ***?!?! We had a $200 gas/electric bill for an EMPTY HOUSE last in December because some

So now I'm thinking "great, we got squatters or something" (it's happened to my dad). Call our realtor and she's not answering her cell phone :headache: Finally get ahold of her assistant and she knows NOTHING about anything....:headache: :headache: :furious: Meanwhile, our DFriend and neighbor--who is a one-woman Neighborhood Watch--is all set to call a SWAT team on these people!

Today I get a call from both the office manager at the real estate office and our relocation officer...
THEY CLOSED ON THE HOUSE EARLY!!!!!
:cheer2: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :cheer2:

Evidently the buyers and their bank were ready to go early and contacted Relocation and our realtor. :hyper2: But "early" was Feb 20...but since all the title reports were done and everything was clear, they decided to proceed even earlier (the moment the offer was accepted, Relocation "bought" the house from us) because there was no reason to wait! So what happened was our agent got a call from their agent wanting the keys to the house! Our agent didn't realize that the deal was done until they verified with the title company that yep, transaction is complete, title deed reissued and funding was done in 24 hours...it's a done deal!!!!! :yay:

I'm glad that you feel like her case is in competent hands now. That is more than half the battle. Really, it is! Still, I have a feeling that you might need to be the one filling the doctor in on what your daughter ISN'T saying, like times when you know she's having pain, or things that make the pain worse. Sometimes with joint problems, the person having the pain & difficulty gets used to it to the point that it seems ok. If she's grouchy and/or depressed, it could be in large part due to her trying to manage the pain while also trying to live her life.

I'll be keeping her and the medical staff who care for her in my thoughts & prayers!

When I was 4 I was diagnosed with 3 different forms of arthritis - juvenile rhemetoid, osteo and the third I don't remember - and my parents were told that my activity level was to be restricted. I eventually got used to the chronic pain and resumed my life. When I was 15 the diagnosis was reconfirmed by an arthritis specialist and the restrictions imposed included not walking more than 8 blocks/day, no gym class and no high impact sports of any kind. Up to that point I had played volleyball and softball, which immediately went out the window. Throughout all this, I had gotten to a point where because I was in constant pain I got used to it and lived with it. Apparently this has caused me to have a high pain threshold for somethings but a low one for others. Even today, I have to really listen to my body when it comes to joint pain - I tend to take it seriously when I "feel" the pain in my knees or hips as I'm used to those areas having chronic pain.

As Enna says, watch your DD - she might think it's okay to do something because she doesn't feel the pain but she could be doing damage just because she has gotten used to not being pain free.

Lots of prayers and pixie dust that things work out in the end for her - and you!:grouphug:

Good thing the SWAT team didn't break down the doors.....that would have been quite some housewarming........:lmao: :lmao:

Ok, back to work, so much to catch up on after being off a few weeks.

But I just wanted to send hugs out to everyone who shared their baby stories. As blessed as you all feel for having the children, I think the children are all blessed with wonderful parents.

I'm so confused. Are they supposed to lose all their molars as baby teeth or do those just come out permanent teeth or WHAT? I was thinking they had to replace those with permanent teeth too and if so, my daughter is WAY behind. She only lost her front teeth top and bottom, and last week one of the nearby molars. That's it. She got her 12yr molars in, but does she have to lose/replace those later too, or not? *confused*

The six year molars they get are permanent teeth, so are the 12 year molars. All the other teeth they get as babies come out and are replaced by permanent teeth. The ages when babies get teeth, and later lose them, vary widely -- my three girls have been on completely different schedules for getting and losing teeth. My 14 year old still has one molar (the 2 year old type) to lose, which is definitely on the late side, but nothing to worry about.

Okay...my .02 cents' worth on the whole Orthodontist/braces thing.

Our dentist suggested starting my oldest with braces when she was about 12. She ended up having to wear her braces nearly two years longer than anticipated due to what we thought was the lack of maturity to take care of them properly. In other words, she broke them often, usually did not wear her rubber bands, etc.

When the dentist told us the same thing with DD#2 at that age, we said "Thanks, but no thanks". We waited until she was 15.....and she took the responsibility seriously and got them off with great results, on time.

We're now waiting until at least this coming summer, when DS turns 14, to start his.

All of my kids got their teeth late, lost their baby teeth late (in fact, DS just lost a tooth on Thursday!) and got their adult teeth late.

I do know that the orthodontist said that they like to start when kids are losing some of their teeth, because it gives them the opportunity to move the teeth around more easily in the mouth, and to anticipate future problems. But.....kids continue to grow past the age of 14 or so, and as we have seen with oldest daughter's dental work, her teeth moved enough after braces, that she could almost have the work done over again. I always advise people to wait as long as they possibly can, unless the child has severe dental problems...in other words, it's not just for cosmetic reasons.

Did I bore you all?? Sorry!

Hooray for you! Glad to hear that it's a done deal.

Our DD had her braces on and off before most of her classmates were getting them on. The dentist told us DD's mouth was about two years advanced for her age (like we needed a professional to tell us that). :rotfl2:

DD had to have 6 baby teeth removed in order for her larger permanent teeth to come in, while the 6 were being removed, a 7th tooth fell out on it's own. I think DD might have been 10 at the time. At least she has one beautiful smile now!!! She also wears her retainers two nights a week, and is supposed to the rest of her life, we'll see what happens when she leaves the nest.

Okay so they did remove some baby teeth for Angelina, like they did me. I wonder if they only do that if they are SURE the teeth will need braces? Maybe they are hesitating on such a drastic measure with Ruby because they aren't sure she'll need braces? Honestly it's her bottom teeth that look bad, the top are pretty straight I think. (if you try not to look at the top front teeth always chipped. She must be grinding her teeth at night because this has been going on for years since she got the permanent ones, and we can only get them bonded to fix them a certain amount of times per year. *sigh*)

She is absolutely BE-AUTIFUL! And has a perfect smile too!

We had given up all hope of adopting after we lost BJ, the pain was just too much, I went into a 15 month depression and had nearly given up on life, one week later, we got the call about Angelina. I learned my lesson then about never giving up. I wish you all the best with your adoption!!! :goodvibes

Your story is definitely a testiment to not giving up.
As I said we had our problems at first for a few years, but atleast our miscarriages were early on (including the one before our last child)- none later than 12wks. My sister however is also a testiment to never giving up... she didn't end up adopting but she went thru years of early term miscarriages and some late term. She did end up having 3 children... eventually. She had some miscarriages in between children as well. Having had early term miscarriages I can definitely say that it's not as hard as losing a baby later... it's hard, yes... but not the same. My sister had one stillborn baby before her 3rd child. I was there when he was born and lived just over an hour... the saddest I have been in my life and it wasn't even MY baby! (although I am rather attached and close to my niece/nephews, it's still not the same). :(

Okay since so many people have said they can't see it and I can't seem to fix it......Here it is.

Oh what a beautiful family!

Just checking in. I tried to catch up earlier today but I couldn't even post a reply. OY! Time for dinner now. Catch ya later!

Beautiful family Judy! Remind me not to stand next to you in the group photos!

You know, your husband looks just like a otorhinolaryngologist. :lmao:

(OK, I'll admit it, I just wanted to bust out that word again.)

We're gonna do stealth VOW RENEWALS on the voyage? I love it!!!

If we don't wanna drop a few "thou" for a ships official vows and their "romance goodies" - I will volunteer to get one of the ordainations by email certificates and I shall graciously volunteer to officiate ... as I am already a "Captain" of sorts. Maybe NOT the incomparable CJS... but a captain just the same... Just you'll have to get past the "Crash" part of your internet certified ministers' screen name... <chuckles>

Yeah... you could tell your friends... you had your vows renewed by a guy named "Crash"... that may not bode well for the rest of your life voyage together.... <TRAGIC chuckles>

Tragic%20Bulletin%20size.jpg

The ONLY WAY I'm going to get my DH to do a vow renewal is through stealth - hence we now have the "Stealth Vow Renewal Ceremony"!
