Can you tell I'm a bit excited, walking around this morning was the pits, I should have had ice skates on, as I nearly fell several times this morning walking around on all this stinking ice.............................:scared:

Be careful Andy, very careful out there.:)

Ummmm......not such a good thing that DH had Titanic on last night I suppose. ;) Of course DD was in the room playing & didn't really say anything...wasn't sure if she was actually watching or not. Evidently she was because she came over, gave me a hug, and started sobbing uncontrolably about not wanting to go to school again. She didn't want the house to flood & her not be able to get to me. :( OY BOY!!! When she saw that it was a ship then it was all about Mickey getting off the ship too. DH finally got the hint that it was time for him to change the channel. I had to explain what was done differently then & how there are enough lifeboats for everyone on the Magic. :sad2:

Did you say Titanic? Disney style?

Just a quick post to say that I won't be on for a while -- family emergency. We've even had to cancel our cruise for this Saturday.

So sorry Julie, here is some :grouphug: :grouphug: for you.

Question for past cruisers?

I see a lot of mention of renting cars from Budget at the port. But I can't stand Budget and would really rather not rent from them. Is there anyone else who rents at the port and/or has shuttles to their rental locations? I want to rent from the port, stay a few days in Orlando, then return the car to MCO.

Distance from
Cruise Terminal 2 Courtesy Shuttle
to Cruise Terminal?
#1 Budget 3.0 miles Yes
#2 Avis 4.0 miles Yes
#3 Hertz 4.3 miles Yes
#4 National 6.6 miles No
Hope this helps.:)

I wondered a few (hundred) posts ago whether anyone was looking for liquor stores near the HoJo's / DL to save travelling on airlines with booze. Somehow asking this converted to several of you volunteering me to do it.....

(Note to self: Don't ask questions requiring research or you will be volunteered to do it!)

Of course since the search doesn't work I couln't find the oringal e-mail to retract my thoughts so I could accuse those who quoted it of fabrication and other neat accusatory terms. :rotfl:

Actually it was quite easy, Google Maps and Yahoo Maps both agree that there is a liquor store .15 miles south (?? towards the bottom of the map) of the HoJo's and a few others near by. I plotted them on Google Earth and saved the image, but as near as my IT challenged self can figure, I can't upload the image and can't access photosharing from work, so (after wasting all this wonderful text and space), what do we do if we have good, useful, (dare I say) on topic, and important information? Do we send the map and text to someone? Do I just hold it and say "Na, na, na, na, na, naaa, I can get booze and you can't" (no wait, already gave my room number to the alleged 'website', don't want them all knocking at 4 am to steal my booze...) :rotfl2:

Of course, if I don't check back in regularly, I will be unable to find this post or any of the replies.....

sure does, gives me some other options. It doesn't really matte to me how far away they are. As long as their's a shuttle, I'm good.

Don't worry, we're just joking about nominating you. But you did some great research. There are several liquor stores nearby, plus a few grocery stores (our CA stores sell booze too). We'll be ok. Plus, if you have heard MR will be bringing a 400lb backpack of booze to go along with her blender. We'll be set with booze.

If you want to send the info to Lisa, her email is on the first page. She'll make sure it gets on the website.

Avis and Thrifty both have rentals closer to the port with Shuttles

National is a little further out but you have to take a taxi to them.

I've used BUdget once - didn't like their cars

We used Thrifty last trip - rented a Pacifica - everything went well.
(we even upgraded from full size to the premium size at last minute and it was only a $10 daily upcharge.)

Don't worry, I didn't take the nomination seriously, just had time to kill on the marathon conference call today and was being OCD for my own benefit......

I guess we should all be careful not to bump into MR in the terminal or we might have 400 lbs of booze and broken glass all over?

General DIS Question - does the search function not work or am I just DIS Challenged?

Can't use search to find old post in thread to respond to....

What are you looking for? Maybe I can help you find it.

Besides using Budget, I've also used Avis. Their store location is next to the plaza where Shirley's shop, The Perfect Gift is located. They also have free shuttle service to and from the port.

I thought Orlando went to the Hollywood one? And from what I heard he didn't sign any autographs. Marty was so gracious and signed anything and everything, and obliged us in pics although most people didn't have cameras since we couldn't take them into the theater.

So where did you stash the camera while you were in the theater? ;)

Aw thanks Lil' Grumpy! MR had it right...it was just a stinky teen thinking he was funny. It's not that I mind that I DON'T get carded, but it was definitely lack of judgement to get my hopes up & then dash em, because you're right...I am a baby! Did I ever mention I look just like Demi Moore? :rotfl: (Well in my dreams anyway!)

I'm feeling the pirate: love! I really am! ;)

I am so touched, what a nice compliment. I've never thought my writing was that good.....

I imagine that is some subtle sarcasm that my "little hussie" comment has provoked?

:rolleyes1 pirate:
