Small world Huh. We love it here in VA. I grew up in Ohio, met my DH, we moved to Indiana, then South Carolina (no offense to the folks who lived in SC but I HATED it). Then we lived in Fishersville VA for about 3 years, loved it there, had a gorgeous view of the mountains. BUT when we moved here, I truly think we found "home". I love the weather here, I love Mechanicsville, I love our neighborhood, I love our schools (even the one I work at), I love that 95 is a hop skip and a jump away. I love that we are close to the beach and to Williamsburg - did I mention I love VA? My kids and I are flying to Ohio over Spring Break and I have already warned my MOM that if it snows (I can remember hunting Easter Eggs in the snow) while we are there I will never come back to Ohio again. I really hate the snow and love that we haven't seen any of it for a couple of years!

How close are you to Busch Gardens? DH and I have been going back and forth on wether or not to buy the Va Fun Pass this year. We bought it last year and used it three times so it was worth it. The only problem is figuring out when we can go - we are so busy with karate and swim team and soccer!

I know what you mean. I am from Syracuse, NY originally
(snowbelt capital of the world this year) I never go home in the winter. I moved down here 7 yrs ago and have my own business. I am going home in the middle of April and I hope the snow is gone. I enjoy going down to Va Beach.

I live 3 miles from Busch Gardens and this past Saturday was preview day for passholders so friends and I went and it was so coldl we were bundled upand when the sun went behind the clouds it seemed to get colder. We saw the new ride Griffon, it is opening up in June and can't wait to go on it(the more daring the ride the better for me)
The ride is 205 high with a 90 degree vertical drop at a speed of 65 mph!!! It is right next to Alpengeist.

I agree with the location close to 64 for me and 95.

Another swim team family! Do your kids swim club or YMCA?

We used to do year round swimming with YMCA now we do our neighborhood swim club just in the summertime. There was just too many other things during the school year. We have brownies, Y guides/Y princesses, karate, horse back riding, soccer - too many things to go to!

That is funny - my DH's family is from Syracuse - some of his aunts and uncles are still there. His parents moved here years ago - they still visit NY from time to time. World is getting smaller now!

Gotta get to school so I am signing off now. Have a great day everyone!

Well at least I know who my real friends are!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You know having a 400 lb. backpack of booze is like walking around with an adorable puppy, people gravitate towards the booze.............

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Doing a little bit of ketchup this morning.

:grouphug:pixiedust: to those of you needing a little bit more. You are in thoughts and prayers.

It seems like everyone went to bed at a reasonable hour and the West Coast Crew never showed up. I only had 5 pages to ketchup on.

Happy First Day of SPRING!!!!!

3 in a row..

Hello....anyone out there????? :surfweb:

Totally off topic, I downloaded Elliott Yamin's new cd this morning. OMG, why didn't this guy win last season? Puts this year men to shame.

OK, off to work.......

Morning everyone.
Andy, in answer to your question, Yes the boards were down last night. Couldn't find the website last night and gave up around 12ish.
Hope it thaws out for all those up north.
Took almost an hour to ketchup. Catch y'all later.

Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Spring! Here in Michigan it doesn't mean much since some of our worst storms come in April. we have had s*** in May!..

I thought the POTC 3 trailer was awesome! Can't wait to see the movie.

Well off to get some work done.

Just a quick post to say that I won't be on for a while -- family emergency. We've even had to cancel our cruise for this Saturday.

:scared1: :scared1: Oh no!

Okay, I'm really far behind., you may have posted an update that I haven't read yet......but I hope everything is okay!

It is a "small world". Do you know what area they are from?

I wondered a few (hundred) posts ago whether anyone was looking for liquor stores near the HoJo's / DL to save travelling on airlines with booze. Somehow asking this converted to several of you volunteering me to do it.....

(Note to self: Don't ask questions requiring research or you will be volunteered to do it!)

Of course since the search doesn't work I couln't find the oringal e-mail to retract my thoughts so I could accuse those who quoted it of fabrication and other neat accusatory terms. :rotfl:

Actually it was quite easy, Google Maps and Yahoo Maps both agree that there is a liquor store .15 miles south (?? towards the bottom of the map) of the HoJo's and a few others near by. I plotted them on Google Earth and saved the image, but as near as my IT challenged self can figure, I can't upload the image and can't access photosharing from work, so (after wasting all this wonderful text and space), what do we do if we have good, useful, (dare I say) on topic, and important information? Do we send the map and text to someone? Do I just hold it and say "Na, na, na, na, na, naaa, I can get booze and you can't" (no wait, already gave my room number to the alleged 'website', don't want them all knocking at 4 am to steal my booze...) :rotfl2:

Of course, if I don't check back in regularly, I will be unable to find this post or any of the replies.....

Oh you tease! :goodvibes

Well....thanks for the reasearch...and we will be at HoJo precruise as well. I'm definitely interested in where that liquor store is.

IKWYM... i was listening to CHris Daughtry's new song and i was thinking...
"none of the current bozos even deserve to have a single let alone a cd"

What was AI thinking this year?:confused3

dear fellow, buckifan: i :sad1: of joy..when you shared your story
of donations...you deserve to feel proud! { which is probably why
those amazing basketball buckeyes pull off this year biggest game.}

Thanks so much LG! Yes, I am extremely proud of her!

And that Buckeye game was a nail-biter! 'Bout gave my dh a heart attack! :goodvibes

Hope we do well this Thursday!
