DDA Chapter 4

Good morning. :)

Happy March! Spring is almost here! :woohoo:

Thanks. The food was good but the place was noisy. We were put in the back banquet room where there were several large groups, like the 'after work get-togethers.' But I'm sure the tables out in the bar area would have been just as bad. We found out half-way through our dinner that Constantine from a previous American Idol year was playing there that night.

One of the little girls I used to babysit was devastated when he got voted off. Her mom said she cried and cried.
The night we went to Buca di Beppo we got stuck in the room where they put all the BIG parties. There were only 5 of us. Luckily we were almost finished by the time the room got really packed.

:yay: someone else who likes Stephen King.

I like Stephen King's older stuff. I haven't read anything he has published in the past 15 years or so. I have read all of his "classics".:)

Why is it that I am awake and ready to get started on my errands but the places I need to go don't open until 10 AM?:headache:

Of course there are things I can do here at home. Aurora is still very sniffly and sneezy, and this morning she threw up on a pair of shorts DH left on top of the dresser. So I have laundry going.

I need to pay rent BUT guess what? Our water bill never came so I don't know how much to make the check out for! The mail problem is better but it obviously isn't FIXED because we are missing one credit card statement and the water bill. On the flip side, somebody subscribed to People magazine and put MY address on it so we are getting free magazines! I should really go ask the leasing office if they know which apt. that guy lives in so he can fix it. Really, who subscribes to something and puts the wrong address on it? Does the dude not know which apt. is his?:confused3

I have to work today which is a blessing as my kids are driving me crazy & fighting likes cats & dogs.

I would let you rent some of mine, if I ever had any leftover!!!

I'm glad Brandon and SIL are better.

Although we have decided against DVC, I'm sure I'd find a way to use everyone I had, we're always looking for an "excuse" to go back, DH is very upset that we only have one trip planned this year.

As for people having a rough time, please keep my co-worker Diana and her family in your prayers. I know I am going to miss something that has happened, but her husband recently had emergency heart surgery. Her brother in law and sister in law were in a horrible car crash. He died, she is still in the ICU and does not know her husband has died. Her son has been having medical issues and his wife is 28, she just had a stroke and has bleeding in the brain. All of this has been since the start of this year. I am impressed she is holding it together as well as she is.
That poor woman and her family.:wizard:

Good luck on your test and outline.

Bernadette- I love all the pics you posted. It took me a minute to get "she grew a brick" I had no idea what you were talking about. Your kids are just soooo cute! :goodvibes By the way, did you get my check yet?
Thanks! Sorry I forgot to mention the check yesterday. It was too much!

We are here... in Hartford, CT. The roads started to get bad and when we called to check on availability at any hotel in the Brookline area we found they were all booked. We don't have to check out of here until 11:00 and they have breakfast from 7-10. We all decided to take our time in the morning and see what is out there when we wake up. Thanks for all the good wishes. So far, so good!
Glad you made it to CT. We're having rain right now but I don't know what Boston is getting (about 15 miles north). Good luck today!

Tomorrow we're headed to the zoo to enjoy the nice weather. I had a message from Wendy tonight that Michael is out of the hospital and they are going to the zoo tomorrow too so hopefully we'll meet up with them as well.
Have fun at the zoo. Great news about Michael!

Well, Happy March!! The first day of Spring is March 20!
And it looks like the clocks change next weekend? Hmm. That means DH can wear shorts to work again! (Not that he will until it warms up!)
Yup: In 2008, daylight time begins on March 9 and ends on November 2.

My DH won't be happy when he figures that out! He'll say its too early but I'll like leaving work in the daylight!

Good morning!

Happy March everyone!

Now I can offically say "We are going on a Disney cruise next month!"

Can I go with you?;)

Good morning, DDA! Just a quick pop in before I've got to get ready for the zoo. Lunches to pack, clothes to find, kid to awaken. Let's go, let's go. Free stuff ends at 10. Okay, we can slow down now. I just thought to check and I guess the carousel still doesn't open until 11 even though it's Sat. That's the main thing I was trying to get to before 10. We can make the Children's Zoo easily. I'd still better get myself moving though. Catch you all later!

Have fun at the zoo! I bet Forest Park will be packed if it's at all nice today!

Good morning. :)

Happy March! Spring is almost here! :woohoo:

That's what I keep hearing

I had the same problem this morning, sort of. I left by about 8:30 to go to Target, hoping I'd find what I needed there. Of course I didn't, so I was already out and had about an hour still to kill before the mall, etc opened!

I'd love a free subscription to People! :thumbsup2

Hooray! I'm quite jealous, but happy for you! ;)

Jennifer - I am too honest for my own good. I dug in my desk trash and found a postcard we got about the People subscription. I hadn't read it - thought it was junk. I called the number, gave them the account info and told them I have never heard of that guy but I am getting his magazines. The card said his credit card would be auto-billed, and I didn't want that so I had them cancel the subscription.

Huh. The leasing office said NOBODY got a water bill this month - some sort of error. She said to just pay the rent and then write another check when the bill comes. Okey dokey then.

Off to take my test. If I survive I hope to be on later.
:flower3: :cheer2: :grouphug: :3dglasses :cutie: :hippie:

Have a great day everyone.

I'm sure he appreciates it! :)

Hi Kids, I have been reading a bit off and on all week. But I find myself a tad in the dumps (no big deal this shall change I am sure).

Mark left Tue at O'dark thirty and we have been go go go all week. I am on the hunt for a for costume items for Ellie and between drive all over town this week and net surfing I am beat. I can't seem to find what I want at all.
Than I was told the other night that the outifit I found al Walmsart for Elliw wont work for her Hollywood gig. Ok, fine, I can deal with that she did look a little hufflumpish in it. BUT Sunday she performs the song at a fundraiser for one of the other kids going and I HAVE NO outfit. So I have charged up my credit card looking for the perfect outfit to get us through two events (next week a fundraiser for Cancer) and none of the crap looks good on her.
THE GIRL HAS A bit of a belly and a juicy fruit Bu+t on her. :lmao: Poor thing is shaped like me and she is stuck with it. And it wont change much until she hits her teens. :sad2: Oh well.

I have even been to every thirft store in town looking for black boots and crap.
pirate: :sad2:

If I can get throught these next two performances I will be able to work on her Hollywood clothing with no problem.

PD to you all.

Oh...and my other neighbor and I found a puppy yesterday! I pulled into the garage and walked down the driveway to get the mail - and there was a dog in her flower bushes. He started barking and barking and wouldn't shut up. So I went over to the neighbors and asked her if she happened to get a dog - Nope! He was tangled up in from his lead and in a choke collar - no tags. CUTEST LITTLE BUGGER. Of course, APL and the Dog Warden both only work until 4pm...and it's now 6pm. :confused3 As much as Bob and I would love a dog, now's not the moment. Plus this is a puppy. He couldn't be more than a few months old. So we call the Sheriff's department. They want to know if we can keep him overnight. Umm...no. (I love dogs - but not with three cats in the house that are now hiding in the basement - and the dog isn't even in the house). So she pages the Warden. An hour later I call back and she pages him again. Would you believe they will only come out after hours if it's considered a vicious (sp?) dog?? I'm telling him this is the cutest puppy, a little scared and hungry, just needs a warm place..his response "well unless he's vicious, we can't come out - so did you see him growl?" ;) Umm..yeah he growled and tried biting my shoe...sure. That's what happened. Mind you my shoe is not on my foot...it's my garage shoes next to the door that he was biting. The Warden laughed and said someone would come out. An associate of his was here within 10 minutes - and I swear he will be taking this puppy home in three days (the APL's waiting period). The puppy (apparently a Pug/Beagle mix - more expensive than a purebred!) The puppy about threw a hissy when he realized he wasn't allowed to ride in the front seat of the truck! :rotfl:
This is what he looked like from what I could find on the internet - except he was black, tan and white instead of all tan colored like this one:
bogey_pug_beagle_puggle_01.jpg

(Isn't that face just the cutest?!?)
I know he'll be adopted in a heartbeat - and I feel bad for the "owner" for loosing this dog...but put on a collar with tags! :confused3 Even my cats have tags and they are inside cats only....

Ok..rant over. Time to go back to bed now. I hope I'm up by 6:30am now!

Chanon,

That is just the cutest face ever.

While I was visiting my sister in Ga, we were talking about the latest rescue she helped in a few years ago. It usually involves a dog in the middle of a street, traffic whizzing by and no one stopping. She manages to get the dog in her car, finally with help and takes it to a shelter. It is sad because you never know if the dog will be found by the owner or end up being put down.

Then we also came upon a dog left in a suv with no windows down and it was a little warm that day. Needless to say, she got a little upset and I told her to keep in her car a little note to leave on the windshield telling the owner what a jerk he or she is for leaving the dog in there with no windows cracked or even water.

Okay, off my soapbox now!!!

Robyn - I was sorry to read about your great aunt.

Lindsay - congrats on your promotion. I just told the girls and they said, "YIPPEE!! Tell her way to go!" I am glad your fur baby is doing better. Good luck with the funding of all that extra care. :)

Deb - instead of the "warmth" that Jennifer talks about I use "glee" because I like the pinker tone it has. But I agree that their brushes are terrific too.

Thanks to all of you for the Bare Minerals info. It sounds like I am not the only one interested :thumbsup2 I really wish that there were someplace locally that I could try it, but there just doesn't seem to be. I am pretty sure that I will be trying it out, after my diet.

I am in such a funk today. I really just want to sleep which is my typical getting depressed MO. We are so sick of winter and snow. It'll be July before it all melts at this point. The good news is that the foot we had expected ended up being only 3 inches :thumbsup2 I need to get my butt in gear as I need to we AT work in an hour. I'm not looking forward to going as I am in the back room (usually big parties) and there is only a 12 and 8 planned in there. We work 2 waitstaff in that room and pool tips and I greatly dislike the girl that I am scheduled with. Now mind you I can get along with about anyone, but she is just a negative constantly complaining person. I can't wait for tonight to be over with.

We are debating whether to take the boys skiing tomorrow or not. It is supposed to be highs around 30 degrees and windy. I would wait another week, but we need to tap the trees very soon and I don't know when another opportunity will arise.
