Deb ;)

Mare, I have a great family recipe for Italian Lemon Drop cookies. The problem about giving you the recipe is that it would brake my heart if you didn't LOVE them and honestly your DH is a tough critic. Everyone I ever gave the recipe to LOVED them too. I make awesome Anise cookies too. My DHs grandmothers recipe.

Stay warm everyone!!!

Anise cookies? mmmmm how about i meet you by the verranzano on our way home? I love those!

Anyone want a new MIL?

Would you want to do a swap? :rotfl:

Evening all...we are back in the room, and we are trying to get everyone to sleep.
Had a great day. Was chilly in the morning and a bit colder in the evening but in the sun ut was nice.
We did the Candle light procession tonight with Steven Curtis Chapman. We enjoyed it so much...even more since baby M fell asleep before it started.

The GF lobby was very busy tonight! The gingerbread house had a big line and instead of the piano player (or in addition to i guess) they had a group playing song by ringing bells. very nice.

Oh our Christmas tree was delivered today...was in the room when we got back. It is much nicer than the picture on thier website and (with the container it is in) is bigger than i thought too,

They placed it near the window so you see the castle right next to it.
Mrs and I agree that this is our new tree..we dont want to use (or put together) the one at home any more

While the parks were crowded it wasn't crazy.
for some reason we had more people staring at us when we just sitting or hanging out with the guide...One guy actually pulled me aside and asked what we won..he thought she was the dream team.
Still feel the guide is worth it..at least at the price we got before it was raised.

And i dont know why but the castle looks MUCH bigger from our room...maybe the lighting?

Marvel Thanks for checking in again...glad to hear that you enjoyed the guide! (and felt it was worth the $$...) I love the Candlelight Processional too...just beautiful...I heard the Bell Choir when I was there too...the GF is especially nice with all of those extra touches:goodvibes Enjoy the rest of your trip...

Vanessa I want to join in and say Have a great time!!!! and a safe trip:santa:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!! We are leaving here at 9:30 to catch our flight in St. Louis. We do not take off until 3:00 but we are supposed to get some bad weather and we are going to meet my newphew who is going to drop us off at the airport. I pray that we get outta here!!

I was struggling to get packed but I think I am there!! It is going to be a little warmer than I thought so I had get out some shorts etc. YES- I SAID SHORTS!!

Hope you get out of there, V!!! safe travelling :)

I dont know why i keep waking up so early..its 6:15 and i am dressed and ready to go. I guess im too excited :rotfl:

Hey guess what? a quarter is the perfect size coin to fit right into the lense of a sony handycam video camera...and get stuck! I can't get it out..i dont evenknow how it got there....Im hoping the desk will help me on that one.

The kids most favorite thingy is Saganaki. It is yummo big time. It's easy but one year I singed my hair and the ceiling.:rotfl2: I had too much brandy in it.....or whiskey or whatever i had on hand to flame it.:rotfl2: Plus I probably had already drank a bit too much of whatever I was flaming it with.:rotfl:

Too funny!:lmao: Sounds like something I would do.

Lori

Good Morning All :surfweb:

Marvel......Glad you're having a great time ;). I hope you come back and post some pics for us :goodvibes. Good luck with the quarter in the video camera ....how did that end up in there :confused3?? Continue having a fab time and have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! :santa: :santa:

Travel safe and have fun :dance3:. Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! :santa: :santa:

Deb

Good Morning!!!

Vanessa - have a great safe trip and Happy Holidays!!

Marvel - The best part of those cookies is the person that passed them down to me....my DHs Grandmother. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever meet (my FILs mother)!! We had the same name too!! BTW your trip sounds amazing!!!

Channing - I checked and it is 4 teaspoons Baking Powder

Anisette Cookies
2 – Sticks Butter
3oz Cream Cheese
5 Large Eggs
2 Bottle Anise Extract
4 Tsp. Baking Powder
4-5 cups flour
2 cups sugar

Cream Butter & Cream Cheese, add sugar eggs and Anise.
In another bowl mix flour & baking powder together, then mix wet mixture to dry mixture. Knead together (use the extra flour if too sticky)

Refrigerate over night

Roll into balls, Bake 350 degrees until lightly golden edges.(Sorry old family recipe, not a lot of detail).

Once cooled mix a package of confectionary sugar with water (a little at a time until desired consistency) to make a frosting. Brush and let dry.

Lemon Cookies
1 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Sugar
4 Eggs
1 Tbsp Vanilla
1 Tbsp Lemon Extract
Pinch of Salt
4 Tsp Baking Powder
4 Cups Flour

Cream together Shortening, Sugar, Eggs, Vanilla and Lemon Extract. Add Salt, Baking powder and Flour mix well.

Bake at 373 degrees for 12 minutes

Icing

1 Pkg Confectionary Sugar
1 Tbsp Lemon Extract
1 Tbsp Milk

Blend Confectionary Sugar with Lemon Extract. Add milk a little at a time for right consistency.

Blush and let dry.

Mare - I forgot to answer you about the bag. Yes, I did order it and I love it so far. I probably wont have any problems with it. My kids are big and I don't carry much!!

My office Christmas party was very nice yesterday. The pizza and pasta were delicious and we played Taboo afterwards. When DH got home I asked him what he wanted for supper - and he said pizza, so I had it twice yesterday, but from 2 different places.

Mare-I had Le Cellier's mushroom risotto for the first time a few weeks ago and it was wonderful. Good luck finding the recipe and with the ham also.

Channing-your spinach squares sound delicious, I hope you don't mind if I use your recipe. I'm going to take it to my DH's family house Christmas night.

Marvel-I'm glad that you are having a great time. We had a VIP tour at the MK a few weeks ago and we kept getting those same looks. I thought it was very funny.

Vanessa-I hope you get off safely and I know you are going to have a fabulous trip. Tell us how your VIP tours go.

It is 25 degrees here in Raleigh, NC right now. The high for today is supposed to be 44. Tomorrow it is supposed to get back to normal in the 60's, we are just having a big cold front come through right now. You are welcome to move to Raleigh, but you would probably be bored. It is a city that tries to act larger than it really is. Most of the Northern's that move down here, complain all the time about their is nothing to do and the shopping is not nearly as good as up north.

Stay warm everyone and I hope you get all of your shopping and baking done today. I get off at 1 today. I'm going home to clean really good. Have a good day - Lisa.

Good Morning All!

Marvel Hope you can get that quarter out of your camera lens!!:scared: I love getting up early while at the GF too( dont wont to miss a minute!! )...enjoy sitting out on the balcony with a nice hot cup of coffee..and watch the day begin...:cloud9:

Annette Thanks for those recipes! :) Family recipes are the best...especially ones that you associate with someone special...I have some of those too...:) Did you get your artichokes?...

Vanessa Hope that you get out on time...

88 days unitl spring...I hope that I have it right today Maxie!!...its freezing here...again...but supposed to warm up some tomorrow:confused3 I think the weather report said high 40's..to maybe 50!! maybe the ice will melt...it is usually never that warm in NY in December...

I know Dawn it is that global warming...causing all kinds of wacky weather:sad2:

I am going to try and wrap DHs gifts and get some other stuff done today...
and DIS ofcourse...:rotfl: TTYL:upsidedow

Hi everyone!

Boy did I have a great time last night! :goodvibes We went to dinner at a great restaurant in Newburyport and the wine was flowing! Great time!

I am super busy at work today and then I have to finish up some shopping! Wish me luck! :rotfl: It is a mad house out there! :rotfl: At 7 am the back up at the mall exit was 35 minutes! :scared1:

Vanessa have a great time!! :wizard: I have still not done my cards! My will be real late! :rotfl:

Morning everyone!

I have to write my grocery list and get moving this morning. DS4 get's out of school at 11:15 then we're off to have lunch and shop.:goodvibes

Annette: I couldn't get MY stuff in the bag!:rotfl: I don't really carry anything for the boys on me, I leave it all on the stroller or in the cooler bag. I just found the bag cumbersome and kept falling. The strap also digs into my neck. I'm just not a sling kinda gal. I like to have all my stuff in front of me. I used my Prada crossbody bag which I love, but it doesn't have any organization - it's just one pouch. I had a hard time finding stuff. So I ordered that new bag, with all the pockets. I think I have a WDW bag obsession :rotfl:

Vanessa: Have a safe trip!!! Merry Christmas!:santa:

Marvel: Your trip sounds Magical! :wizard: Please post a photo of your christmas tree, I'd love to see what it looks like.

Can you just imagine Annette at the toll booth of the Verrazano Bridge with a platter of cookies! :rotfl2:

Lisa: I found a recipe people are "claiming" is the LeCellier Mushroom Risotto, but it doesn't have truffles in it?? I'm sure the one served in the restaurant had truffles... Let me know if you want the recipe, I'll post it.

Blue & Princess: We love the Carolina's too! Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island! DH loves to golf and he loves to shop in those golf stores you have down there the size of Home Depots!! :rotfl2: We saw a sign once 40,000 sq ft of golf merchandise DH had to check it out! :rotfl: When the boys are a little older, we'd love to go back to Myrtle Beach. There's so much to do in the summer.

Deb: I heard this morning on the radio in the car about a lady who makes 6,000 christmas cookies a year!! I thought of you! They say the average person makes 100. I'm wondering if this was the lady I saw on the Food Channel giving platters of cookies out to all her neighbors. She had turned her garage into a bakery!

Kristen: Glad your busy and not sick! Have a Merry Christmas! :santa:

Chan: I'm going to look for the spanakopita (sp) in Costco today! :thumbsup2

ADR Update: Rumor is that WDW is loading the dates in their system and it's possible they'll be ready soon to book beyond 3/22. Maybe before January. Have your restaurant list ready if they're anything you REALLY want to book. I have a feeling this is going to be a nightmare when they open the phone lines :scared1:

I have got to write my grocery list!!
Mare
