Thanks for all the greetings and Birthday Wishes for Joe!

So I was in the middle of a reply last night and Joe started vomiting in the kitchen.:scared1: Poor DH had to clean that up. I really don't think I could have done it. Poor little guy was sick at least 7 more times during the night. He is so good about it. No complaints-just that he wanted to sleep. The girls would be very whiny. I hope they (& DH) don't get it! He's been awake and chatty since 6am and hasn't been sick since about 2am so hopefully he's over the worse. One of his birthday gifts was Pete's Dragon on DVD (we only had video) so he's watching that. It is one of his favorite Disney movies-he loves the Candle on the Water song.

Debbie-hope you're feeling better today!

Janet-hope Riley's all better!

Vicki-you got some great buys!

Tammie-sounds like a fun night!

Elizabeth-I've been waking up around 3am not able to fall asleep but I can't blame anyone. I've been feeling so stressed lately. I really wish I could pack now but since it is just me and Lizzy and no other adult I really cannot pack enough clothes for all potential weather. I will have to wait til I get a better forecast. Accuweather's 15 day forecast which goes til 2 days before our trip shows mostly highs in the low 60's and lows in the 30's & 40's. Not short weather-sounds like my Jan 04 trip but last Jan I never needed more than a T-even at night. I have a ton of laundry to do today-I've got the worst from last night in the wash now on sanitary. Sanitary takes 2 hours to complete the cycle. Anyways between loads of laundry I'm hoping I can get all the "potential" summer clothes pulled together for Lizzy & I as we don't need them here. Then I can cut back on the shorts & T's if the weather forecast is still for cool temps as we get closer to the trip. OH...and I still need to check out that case for my camera. I bought a DVD on my camera that I need to watch a few more times. I always try to watch it at night and end up falling asleep.

So we did a little shopping on our brief trip, they were having a sale on T shirts, 40% off so we got the three of us matching shirts for our May trip. And 40% off beach towels so we got a couple of those for May also, we plan on spending quite a bit of time at the main pool at OKW so they'll get quite a bit of use.

My inlaws and father gave me cash for Christmas so I spent it there. I've been collecting Precious Moments for years, it's gotten to the point that I really don't have room for many more so I've started collecting the park exclusives at Disney. I found this one in the Art of Disney store on Main Street and was really excited to discover that it had been signed by Sam Butcher, DH didn't understand why it was a big deal.

So cool!!!!

Well since I have been, snow bound, ice bound, snow bound, and now ice bound today, I decided to stay in and start on Leighanna's wardrobe for Disney.
Here is number one.

I have a few more to go, and then I am done!

Sorry for such a poor picture. I have been in my sewing cave for awhile and the lighting isn't that great to take photos in.
WOW!!!!!! Stunning!!! That is so cool!!!!!!

Something must have possessed me today. Not only did I do over an hour on the Wii fit, I also did 7 miles on the stationary bike and some stretching. I have had no fast food or soda this week. I have drank my water all week and eaten decently.
:woohoo:

Debbie the Precious Moments art is really cute!

Vicki look forward to seeing your new haircut.

Bernadette I hope Joe is better today :wizard:

Tom love the outfit :thumbsup2

Tammi sounds like you had a wonderful birthday dinner surprise!

Bernadette - I am sorry Joe is sick! I hope he is feeling better today! :wizard:
It is hard to pack for this time of year. Our Jan. '05 trip was warm 2 days, pouring rain 1 day, and cold mist one day. I had clothing for all of it, but it was a challenge.

I got several loads of laundry done yesterday. I think I have 3 left.

The cake lady is coming at 1 PM and I have to meet Momboss at the mall at 3 PM so my day is going to zip by.

Hope everyone is having a good night. I just got home form having dinner and a couple of drinks with my cousin to watch the football games..

Im not surprised that the Ravens won, but really wanted TN...Im reallllly surprised about the game now--I thought the Panthers were gonna cream the Cardinals.

I just spoke to my family--they said the seas have been pretty rough the last couple of days and they are ready to come home---but they sound like they had a great trip. It will be nice to see them tomorrowl

The sports bar i was at tonight was all eagles and giants fans-it was crazy! I think that decided that I will stay home for the game tomororw--dont need to be surrounded by crazy fans all day tomorrow!

If you guys could keep my family and a family friend of mine in your prayers, that would be great.. I cant get into too many details with the family, but a friend of mine is deployed and i havent heard from him in awhile which is unusual--so please think some good thoughts!

I agree on all football counts. I had been rooting for the Titans as well, but a Ravens/Steelers AFC championship could be awesome (albeit a little scary...). As for the NFC game, I can't even begin to figure out how all that went down. Good for the Cardinals!

I will definitely keep your family in my prayers as they travel, and for your friend and family with the other things going on.

Evidently, myBob cooked up a birthday surprise, bringing Elin and herBob along as a security blanket, or reinforcements, depending on how you look at it.

So we leave our house and Bob turns onto Elins road. Then he asks me which house is hers. Part one of the evening is revealed. Elin and herBob are going with us. YAY! :cool1: Then we get on I95, heading south, AWAY from any 'nice' restaurants, unless you go all the way to Richmond. Part two of the surprise was that we were going to a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. This is something that I've always wanted to do. Bob didn't know this though, because we've never even talked about it. Anyway, he was concerned about how I would react to it. I guess everyone thought it was going to be more interactive than it was, and I'm not one for being the center of attention. Hence, why Elin and Bob got dragged along. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, but now that I've gone to one I don't need to do it again. A big thanks to Bob and Elin for going along with us! Oh and I got the best gift from Elin. She passed on her Year of A Million Dreams lanyard to me that she got in December, since no one in her family is a pin trader! Thanks again, Elin!

What fun! :yay: Did Elin know all of this already when she was asking you questions about your dinner?! :)

What are your dates???

much later than yours, Terry :( {12/18 (or 19) through 12/27 (or 28)} One day I would love to be able to go earlier in the month but with all my recitals I can't get away to do Mousefest. :sad2:

Tammi-I know you don't have your Photopass book yet but do you think you will think it was worth it? I see that it is available as a prepurchase option now. I was looking at it to see what page layouts they had and I really wish they had more options. Wouldn't it be nice to have a basic layout for each park? Maybe more layouts with different characters (like Pooh!).

Anyways....were you able to put a book together that you're happy with?

Thanks for your insights!

We had a lot of fun. myBob was watching SNL last night and I realized that the skits on there were a lot like what we saw at the dinner theater. Not really outstanding, but marginally entertaining. :rotfl2:

Bernadette - poor Joe! I hope he is much better today and none of the rest of you get that nasty bug.

Good morning. I promise that I read everything, but it was late when I got home last night and I didn't have the energy to post. I know that there were so great achievements :cheer2: from Vicki, Becky and Tom. There were still some sickos :wizard: :wizard: and I'm sure there was need for some hugs too

I worked last night and it was a fairly decent night in some aspects. We had people coming through the door. I actually waited on 37 people :cheer2: Unfortunately that was really the only good part. The new kitchen could not keep up so meals were taking forever to come out and when they came out there was sure to be something not cooked as ordered. So all of the waitstaff spent most of our time trying to keep customers happy until food finally came out. Thankfully we have a huge salad bar so people had plenty to munch on if they so chose. The new kitchen also does not know how to order and we are now frequently running out of food items that are on our main menu, not to mention staple items such as our famous prime rib ( a HUGE prime rib that draws customers in and brings them back) and we even ran out of baked potatoes for a period of time while they cooked more. Obviously there is no excuse for any of this and it makes the restaurant look bad. I can't tell you how much apologizing we did, and that was before their meals even came out. We probably did over 300 meals, but there have been times in the past when we've done over 500 meals in one night. These guys have no ability to put out that much food :sad2: So after we finished up all 8 waitstaff and one of the busser/waitresses went out to the bar for a well deserved drink. 15 years ago this was a regular thing for the waitstaff, we actually socialized. During this time a staff meeting broke out as on of the owners walked out. We feel that this impromtu meeting brought out a lot of our concerns and stresses as well as many things that the management may not be seeing. They are now trying to organize a full staff meeting. They are thinking a Sunday afternoon in a couple of weeks. As the first impromtu meeting was breaking up one of the other owners pulled me aside. He needs me to do some car rental searching for him, but that too turned into a business meeting. He is the owner that is always sober, listens, but he is not the one that we usually deal with. He does however respect my opinion. He actually asked me what I would do if I were him. I gave him straight answers, some of which I think suprised him. I also hope that I didn't offend him when I told him that they don't have a business to sell anymore, they have a parking lot and old building (sometimes the truth hurts). It seems that they really want to make these new guys work out rather than starting over again (that may not be possible in my opinion, but it is not my call). So now we wait to see if anything comes of all this. The second owner did say that he wants to sit down with me sometime to discuss it further :confused3 As you can imagine I was pretty wiped out by the time I got home.

Deb - That sounds like a very draining night you had. I am sorry things went so badly, but I agree with you that there is no excuse for running out of your staples. I hope someone listens to your suggestions based on experience.

Deb, pixiedust: It sounds like you had an exhausting evening. Things like this are always emotionally draining. Hopefully, they will listen and make some changes. It sounds to me like they should make you the manager of the restaurant instead of wait staff.
