I'm contemplating getting the Jillian DVD. It seems a lot of people are seeing results from it. ....... it's just hard to find all the time I need.

That's the beauty of the 30 Day Shred DVD, it doesn't take much time at all but you really see results. :cool1:

I just have to say....I am so sore!!! I can't feel my legs.....
Help!! =)

Good Nite Ladies!!

A friend of mine just told me that I looked like I was losing weight!!! And then she says... have you tried the Jillian Michaels work outs? I said.. no.. not yet... but everyone is talking about them, so, I guess I will have to try it. She says they really work, and better yet, you can get them free from "on demand" from our cable company... Maybe that will give me the extra boost I need to drop a few more pounds before the trip.
Yolie... my gym teacher...( eons ago )... once told me, that if you don't feel it, it's not working... so, having sore legs is probably a good thing! I guess its true....

Well, I was feeling kind-of low, but you guys have inspired me to not throw the towel in.... I lost 4 lbs, but then one weekend away and I gained 2 back! Totally don't get it... spent a day walking/climbing at a waterpark, figured that would at least HELP negate the ice-cream and chips!! Not so much, I guess... :confused3 Then yesterday I was really good, but that didn't help either, apparently.

So, now I'm going to head to Target later to get Jillian's Shred DVD... 30 minutes I can commit to, and if it's that good at getting results, I'm silly to not try it. I hate the sore muscle feeling, but then again, at least I know it's working. I have 79 days to lose 20 lbs.... well, I'd be "okay" with 10, I'd weigh what I did last trip... but I'd like to be even lower.

Good job to those of you already doing Jillian or other things... c'mon girls, I know we can do it!! Thanks for the inspiration/help & ideas!!

Hey everyone how is it going?? I have kinda been off track and over the weekend regained some momentum and got back on track... I am restarting my Wii Active 30 day Challenge and trying to do it twice before my trip I have 47 days counting today and the day we leave we don't leave till at night so I think a quick workout will give me some energy! :confused3 I need a little push so that I actually do it ... Anyone interested in being my "PM/IM Drill Sergent" I have seen others doing this they communicate via Private Message, Instant Message, or Text Message and all they do is text/pm/im the one person to ask if they have exercised and if they did kinda ask how it went and if they feel goodand how they have been eating. Its like having your own private boost from someone who needs a boost back. If ya wanna be my PM Weight Loss Drill SGT/Buddy PM me or ask someone else that you may be close to on the board.....

:surfweb:Okay no more commputer till I get up and do my Active!:yay:

Hey Blyth, I only had the sore muscle feeling (mostly in my legs) for the first few days or so doing the Jillian workouts. After that I think your body gets used to it and if you warm up, cool down and stretch properly that should eliminate most of that feeling. But again, remember, no pain .... no gain. Good Luck!!!

What a great idea Daisy & Lisa! Let us know how it goes for you and maybe others of us can pair up.

ps ... Anyone seen KidaniMom on the boards lately? Seems she hasn't been on this thread in a while.

 Okay, did my first day of Shred... wow, she really works you!! I decided to start at Level 2, since I do get to the gym (on occasion... :rotfl:) and I'm glad I did, although I couldn't breath by the end of the plank jumping jacks and whatever else she was calling those things at the end!! ;) Then I did a few weights in the basment and some situps on our excercise ball... we'll see how I feel tomorrow!

I've always done well with the lo-carb thing, but not lately... my body just doesn't like it, and it bores me. So, I've decided to just go back to basics and watch calories... how many of you do that?? What level do you find best to maintain? I have started with 1000/day, but am wondering if that's difficult to keep at, if 1200 isn't better.

I can't remember who posted that they lost 18lbs w/ the Shred video, etc... was that in the 30 days?? That seems amazing... any secrets you'd like to share?? :)

I'm game for PM'ing with someone, maybe that will help, too... anyone else wanting to?

Hey girls!
Ok.....yes my legs are burning but I did Jillians workout today again....
I still feel sore but I really need to suck it up...and after that I walked for 2 miles....I need to do this....I am also down to PM anybody....vice verse!!

Keep up the great job ladies.....=)

Hey all! I finally set aside some time and did my wii fit for an hour this morning and boy did it feel good. I want to pick up the jillian DVD or game for wii or wii active, but my husband thinks it's a waste of money sice i've only used my wii fit 6 times since he bought it for me in june 2008:scared1:.... so i've got to use that more to reward myself with another method of exercise:yay: the good news is, i've lost 20 pounds over since i first got it last june  unfortunately, like i said i've only used it 6 times, i don't think i can attribute the weight loss to wii fit, but i've obviously been doing something right.

we have completely cut out drive thru's, unless we have no other option (we're both full time college students with full time jobs) and if we must have fast food we only eat things that are on the "eat this" side of Eat This, Not That (i love these books, i shop by the grocery store edition!). we have also tried to cut back on processed foods like rice a roni and frozen dinners and buy more fresh stuff live produce and meats from the butcher, and we've made the switch from white bread to 100% whole grain breads and other carbs like pasta and stuff. this way we know exactly what is going into our foods, because we are prepping them and putting all the spices and oils and such in. my husband has lost 12 pounds since this time last year, too. so changing the way you eat works. get more fiber, drink more tea and water, and flush out the junk. i've actually found that since i eat so much more fresh food and less junk, when i eat something greasy, it grosses me out, i don't even like the way it tastes anymore. imagine that!

enough rambling for now. hope you all are doing well and that jillian is whipping you into shape, hopefully soon she'll be doing the same for me :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I am happy to report that I spent about an hour going through my old clothes and donated 2 trash bags full of things that are too BIG!!! I did sort of fall off the wagon this weekend but tomorrow is a new day. We had a mini staycation to do a few fun things with the kids before they go back to school. They will only be in school for a month when we head to the world...:cool1:. What that means is I have about 1.5 months to lose as much weight as possible. I still have a long way to go.

Isn't that just the best feeling? I did the same thing a few months ago. There were piles and piles on the bed and my husband was like "Do you want to box those up and put them in the basement?" "NO WAY!" I said, "They are out of here!" If the bigger clothes aren't in the closet then you can't ease yourself back into the bigger size, it would take physically going to the store to buy bigger clothes and I completely refuse to do that!!

Way to go #1fan!! We are all doing so well, I'm proud of us all! hehehe

:grouphug:

Well, I'm happy to report I'm not as sore as I thought I'd be, although I'm not sure if that is good or bad?? My arms are a bit sore, and my abs... but my legs (which I want to work on most, of course... :rotfl:) don't hurt a bit. Must need to work it harder next time. ;)

Today is just a weights and situps day for me, as I have to head back to work tonight... but I made it through yesterday behaving myself calorie-wise and I'm hoping that I'll see some changes by Friday or Saturday.

Disney's#1fan, way to go!! Isn't that the best feeling?? I did that a couple of years ago, and am happy to say I haven't had to re-purchase anything in those old sizes since. But -- I've crept into the "tight zone" of my remaining clothes, which is why I'm Jillian'ing myself right now!! :)

Way to go, everyone! :yay:

That's why it works to get rid of all your bigger clothes. When the clothes you kept start feeling tight you have two choices: get back on track with your diet & exercise or spend money on bigger clothes.

It is a terrific feeling...no going back now! Even my husband has lost weight! We are slowly changing our lifestyle...that is the key!

I agree! I need to get rid of those clothes too! I don't need anything that will give me permission to gain the weight back.

Thanks for the encouragement! You guys are awesome! :thanks:

Well, I did my stairs... yipes!! :crazy2:

So, has anyone else noticed that increasing your metabolism makes you STARVING??? I am SO hungry, have been since yesterday. I'm eating healthy stuff every few hours, watching the calories to stay at about 1000/day... but I'm still ready to eat anything in front of me, including the phone cord right about now. :rotfl: Here's to hoping that a few more days of this and my body will adjust...

Karen,

Did you find someone to pair up with? If not,, I'll pair up with you too... the more people watching my back, maybe the more I'll stay on track.

I think it's great... Our trips are getting closer, and we're all trying to stay motivated. The closer it gets the harder I need to try. (because I know I will blow it all while I'm there w/ free dining).(do you justify it by saying.. but I'm walking it off?? :lmao:) How many miles do you think we log a day in Disney? I should bring my pedometer. I read somewhere that it was an average of 13 miles a day???? don't know how true that is. Maybe I'll start a new thread to see what people say.
Getting rid of those clothes is a good way to stick with it. (no going back). I need to go through my closet and get rid of stuff... (especially the maternity clothes!! ) I don't want to grow back into them for sure... It took me nearly a year to get out of them after the last baby).. :rotfl2: no.. I'm serious...
keep up the good work, and melt those pounds away.

I have a long wait for my trip, so a lot of time to get my weight off and maintain it. We are going next August, hopefully for free dining. I never plan on watching what I eat during vacations. I know that I should, but I just don't. Same for holidays and special occasions. Anyway, I have been dieting for 4 months and lost almost 30 pound. Right now I have been at a plateau for 3 weeks. Grrr! I want to lose 10 more pounds and then maintain that weight forever really, but at least until my trip.

If anyone would like to have a buddy, you can pm me. I could use motivation especially the last few weeks and I can give some motivation to someone else too. I am always better at believing others can do it than believing I can. :goodvibes
