*OFFICIAL MARCH 2010 THREAD* - Lets countdown together!

'til we leave for our SURPRISE birthday trip for DS (turning 13). I am frankly AMAZED I haven't spilled the beans. And since I've had to keep the whole thing on the down-low, my excitement has been OFF. I've just now started really getting the buzz:yay::yay: Which will probably tip him off unless I can hold it in 'til Wednesday.

Packing wise, I've been pilfering jeans and t-shirts out of the kids laundry and hiding it in an unused drawer. Now it seems we'll need shorts -- and I don't even know what FITS at this point. I actually fussed at my daughter the other day because she couldn't find a decent pair of jeans in her closet. LOL! (not surprising considering the way she keeps her room. she has a store of dirty clothes shoved under the bed, I'm sure).

Wish me luck keeping the secret three more days...

Tracie

Good luck keeping that BIG secret! That is SO awesome! :thumbsup2 I highly doubt I would have the willpower to keep it in! :goodvibes

So everything is packed except for the toohbrushes! :woohoo: 24 hours from now we will be making the three hour trip to the airport! Of course, my little guy who rarely gets sick is coughing now and my DD complained of a sore throat last night. :sad2: I am pumping them full of liquids and vitamins and hoping for the best. They are still in good spirits and I just hope they get better not worse while on vacation! So typical isn't it?!

Hope you all have MAGICAL vacations! :tinker:

I can't believe I can actually count down the hours (36 hours and we will be on the plane going). I got everybody packed....finally, now I just have to get the whole house in order and ready. I hate the cleaning before, but when we come home I am so glad that I did it because it is very nice to come home to a nice, clean house :goodvibes....I also have to help my DD6 with a Book Report that will be due the day after we come home (we took them out of school for one day), and since it will be about 11pm by the time we get home from the airport, it would be better to get it done now so I don't have to worry about it while on vacation.

Just back last night from a quick 3 1/2 day stay at VWL.
Weather: Fantastic (upper 70's low 80's)
Food: Fantastic (Le Cellier, Tony's, Chef Mickey's)
Room: Fantastic (studio VWL)
Crowds: Packed.

Crowds were nuts, from the Spring breakers+hundreds of softball teams+the same amount of cheerleaders= two hour waits for all the most popular rides. Crowds were equal to summer. We won't be heading back anywhere near spring break anytime soon. (Next stop Jersey week, Nov.2010)
(TSM was a 70 minute wait by 9:30am, 2 hours by early afternoon) Be prepared. Have fun.

Good luck with the sickies...I hope the vitamins and liquids do the trick!

Suprise went good. We left for the airport around 4pm, had to tell my daughter in the morning because we needed to pack. We picked my son up from school and headed to the airport. It was pretty cool.

Only 3-1/2 days left for me. I haven't been this excited about going for a couple of years. Mostly packed, Diamond-Lane check-in at the Vistana done and confirmed, iPod playlists set up for the flight.

Hello fellow March DIS fans! Coming to you LIVE from the Polynesian! Today was a total rain out, but we are expecting sun tomorRow. Otherwise, weather has been perfect! Being a jacket for early morning and late nights. Wishes got a bit cool last night. Wondering where all the crowds went? We made MK at rope drop yesterday and didn't wait more than 10 minutes for anything we wanted to do. By noon crowds we're picking up but still not horrible.

Having so much fun! Pixie dust to you all!

Thanks for the update. We will be there in 2 days and have been a little worried about the weather and the crowds. We can't wait to get there. Hope you are having a magical trip :goodvibes

We are pretty much packed. This is breaking a record in our house. We usually set a time to leave and then exceed that by at least 2 hours. After much pleading and begging, DH finally comes home late from work and starts packing while the kids and I sit in the car. Well, not THIS trip. Hubby actually packed all of his stuff (minus toiletries). We decided to skip suitcases this year and use one large space bag. We were able to fit clothes for 6 people in one bag. By the time we were done, the bag went from above my knee to mid shin. Tomorrow I get the car serviced and buy the remaining items on my list. We WILL leave on time this year. :cool1: Of course we will have to circle the block twice to make sure the garage door went down. :rotfl: Hubby is a bit OCD

Wouldn't you know it. We leave on Thurs and DD2 started getting a runny nose of Fri. Well by yesterday it was horrible. Picked up some children's robitussin trying to get it gone before the coughing started. No such luck. Last night..sleep by 10:30 up by 12 with a 101 fever and HORRIBLE cough. Stayed up most of the night...fever dropped to 100 by 4am and now she's sleeping like a baby FINALLY! Off to take the middle child to school-snow make up day and then back home with little one. So hoping this doesn't get any worse. :sad2:

5 days!! :woohoo:
Hope it's warm:beach:got the water park and more because we've never been before should probably been an add on... live and learn. Well go to TL anyway!

:yay::yay::yay:

Well, somehow DH and I have managed to keep this a secret since October and now we only have 4 more days!! It helps that we didn't tell very many other people until just this past weekend!

I started "collecting" things for the upcoming trip for several weeks now (like sunscreen, bandaids, etc.) and hid them away. I also had to order practically a whole new summer wardrobe for DD12 as she has outgrown all her shorts from last summer! Luckily we went to a waterpark for New Year's Eve so she helped me pick out a new swimsuit for her then. Otherwise I have ordered everything online and had it shipped to me at work. Then I had to sneak it into the house. I couldn't have her try on the clothes so one evening when she was at basketball practice I was comparing waistlines with her jeans, etc. Then I washed and dried them and packed them quickly during another basketball practice. Whew! I sure hope these new clothes fit her (and that she likes them!!).

I started packing my clothes and DHs last Thursday when I had the afternoon off work. Now on Friday morning, I need to pack all the "last minute stuff" then it's off to the airport and the big reveal Friday after school!! I really can't wait to see the look on her face!! I think that she will be shocked!

:dancer: WE LEAVE TOMORROW!!!!!!! :dancer:

We are all so excited we can't stand it. The packing is all finished, I am doing the laundry and will probably be doing one more load before I go to bed along with the dish washer (if I go to bed, get way too excited to sleep the night before our trips), we have our boarding passes all printed out and we are checked in with the airlines and did online check-in for POFQ. I can't believe that less than 24 hours from now, we will be sitting on the plane watching the world go by on our way to our most favorite place on Earth :goodvibes....oh yeah, looked at the weather for when we are there and it looks like it will be in the 70's with a few 80's thrown in :cool1:

Four more days! I have tomorrow afternoon off so all of that stuff I've been setting aside is getting packed!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

I hope everyone else has a safe trip down this coming week... maybe I'll see you there! ;)

4 days!!!

I think I made a big mistake by not going last year. Last year I would have been 30+ weeks pregnant and figured a trip then would have been rough. Now that I'm trying to pack for 4 kids and likely need another whole suitcase for the baby stuff, plus a carseat and stroller I'm thinking that my reasoning was very shortsided :lmao:

The weather looks like it's going to be great though and we're planning on being at the parks at rope drop almost every day so I'm not too worried about the crowds :thumbsup2

We're here and having fun! Went to AK yesterday. Got a big chunk of our touring plan done before the rain came. Went ahead and rode Everest twice in the rain, and Kali another time in the rain. LOL We'll try and get back to see Lion King and the conservation area before our week is up.

Today we were at MK at rope drop. Rode bunches of rides with no wait before noon. Used our GAD special fastpasses, though we only had 6 for our party of 9, so skipped a few things that I want everyone to see. (We're going back to MK on Friday.) Came back around 4 for a late lunch/early supper and a swim and we might go back tonight.

Tomorrow...Hollywood Studios!

We just got back Sunday night. The weather was bit cool...had to wear our jackets at leats part of everyday except Saturday. The crowds are definitely heavy. It didn't really bother us except in Animal Kingdom. It doesn't flow very well there and the sidewalks don't seem wide enough to accomadate all the people. We also had trouble finding any place to sit and have our lunch at yak and yeti. All in all it was a great trip and I can't wait to go back in a few years.
