Hello all my Diser's and Disette's...its been a very long time, did you miss us? Yes it has been exactly a year since we have last been to the Happiest Place On Earth and we have missed it so much! 2010 has been a very wild year, mostly wonderful news such as our newest niece and some not so wonderful news (wont dwell on that) but we are re-organized and re-charged and ready to get our vacation on! If you have read my reviews before WELCOME BACK! If not, you are in for a heck of a ride!
Let me introduce ourselves:
When are we going - Nov 12-21 Yes we are celebrating our 14th anniversary!
There is me, Nicki - I am the scheduler, the planner, the do-er, the one that drives her wonderful husband crazy with questions having to do with our vacation. I get up early, stay up late and just go go go all the time. Love all kinds of food, not a fan of beer, love cocktails and the occasional wine. Have not tried sushi yet but I really want to...I chicken out at the last minute.
Then there is Todd - The laid back, relaxed, calm to my crazy, easy go with the flow husband that LOVES to change things up at the last minute with just a few little words "I'm not feeling it". He has a special knack for getting us into restaurants without reservations even though they have told me a million times they are booked solid. He has this crazy idea that vacations are for resting and relaxing and prefers to take long afternoon naps everyday....seriously, how do we get along?? He will eat anything and everything, no picky eaters here!
Where we are staying - CBR king room hopefully preferred building. Why are we staying there you ask? It was Todd's turn to pick a resort and my only requirement was no resort switching this time, I just want to drop my bags and leave them there until it is time to go home! He has loved this resort since our first stay there in 92 with his family and we have stayed there a total of 4 times and have always enjoyed it, our last stay was in 04 so it is time to go back and check things out. Cannot wait to check out the new rooms, pool and the overall theme of the resort is right up our alley!
I will admit, I really wanted POFQ but there are no discounts available and I was leery about the work going on in the resort. I have checked prices on some deluxe resorts but there are no discounts for Fri-Sun night and the prices have really gone up! Would have loved to stay at the Dolphin again but Todd is not thrilled with spending a 9 night stay there because it has zero Disney feel for him....a weekend trip is fine but not an extended trip.
Why a LIVE review? Because you guys love to read it as much as I love to write it! I was very tempted to leave the laptop at home this trip but Todd said "You cannot let your Dis friends down like that, they will never forgive you" and my BFF Kathy (KatMark) said she would kick my butt so I have to do a live review LOL. What else am I going to do while the Prince is sleeping....play on Facebook and the Dis!
As far as a schedule goes, well, we really do not have one....sorta. I know we will be at Epcot for the last weekend of F&W all day and we will have a Dis meet at the Ditch at 1pm on Sunday the 14th, if anyone is in Epcot at that time feel free to stop by!
Now the important stuff...where will we eat????? We have planned just 1 breakfast, Boma of course because I miss it so much, the rest of the time will be CS at the resort or we will make plans as we go along. Same thing with lunches, no plans at all because my DH thinks he can get us into anything last minute. We do have dinner reservations for every night we will be there.
Nov 12 - I am taking Todd to work that morning and will pick him up promptly at 4pm, I am sure I will be there at 3pm lighting a fire under him to get moving! By doing this we will save about 90 minutes for him to get home, change, load the car and get back on the interstate (he works 30 minutes away from home). We should pull into DTD at 7pm and will eat dinner at WPE
Nov 13 - breakfast at the food court, Epcot all day snacking the countries, dinner at Narcoossee's...this is a first try for us and I cannot wait! MK is open late that night so we may go there afterwards...depends on how tired DH is.
Nov 14 - breakfast at the food court, Epcot all day with a Dis Meet, snack the countries, dinner at La Hacienda. I am soooo excited to try this place as I have heard that the food is incredible.
Nov 15- breakfast at the food court or we may drive to DTD to try WPE for breakfast as my good friends Karin and Tom say it is out of this world.. I think we will hang at the pool all day and then go to HS for an early dinner/late lunch at Mama Melrose...this is the only night I could fit in the Osborne Lights.
Nov 16 - breakfast at the food court or maybe we will try and get into Kona. No plans for lunch or where we will go this day but dinner is at Via Napoli. I am a thinking of moving this to lunch and getting into Flying Fish instead.
Nov 17 - Happy Anniversary to us!! Have no plans for breakfast or lunch but I did promise Todd that I would take it easy on him this day and we would just have a pool day and figure out food later LOL. I am thinking of booking us the GF Tea but I dont know if he wants to do it again. We are going back to Citrico's for dinner, the meal we had last year was fantastic so I hope it is the same this trip.
Nov 18 - Again, no plans. Our trip was supposed to by in late Oct for my birthday but DH's schedule was a nightmare so we moved it to November (which I prefer so I can enjoy Xmas!). Around the early part of Sept I had to move the entire trip back and was lucky enough to keep the room and price and all my dining ressies the same BUT I was able to get us into Cali Grill at 5:30!!! After dinner we may go to MVMCP, we do not have tickets and we are taking a chance that it will be sold out but we will wing it. Might try and get into Kona for lunch or maybe San Angel Inn
Nov 19 - Same thing, no plans. Dinner will be at Todd's favorite place, Cape May Clambake! Now that they have crab legs back on the buffet it was his only "must do" place on the list.
Nov 20 - No plans again, dinner at Fulton's for more crab legs...I think we will be walking out of WDW sideways LOL
Nov 21 - Our departure day, sad but I get to eat at Boma!! We will then go to AKL for the day and have a late lunch there....I was pushing for Yak & Yeti but once he spied that shrimp po boy that was it!
Phew, that is a lot of stuff! Now I just have to wait until Friday!
