This reminds me, I've got to start getting my medicine/first aid bag together. I'll be bringing the usual pain relievers, band aids, neosporin, allergy med., thermometer, nebulizer and meds....

Have I forgot anything?

We always bring tweezers. They have come in handy more than one time, aloe for sunburn (hopefully won't need it, but just in case). Instant cold packs for emergencies. My kids tend to get a lot of bumps and bruises, but obviously ice works just fine.

Here's something to get you in the Disney spirit- last fall America's Funniest Video's Assignment America was Disney Surprises. I submitted a video of our November 2009 surprise. This spring I got a call that they were using it in a special "non-compete" episode (no $10,000 prize awarded).

I got the call back today that the air date is this Sunday, 5/22. Check your local listings! I'm just guessing that since he called it a special non-compete episode that it MIGHT be overall Disney themed. So it might be perfect for those of us gearing up for a trip!

Mine will be the one where two curly haired girls are at a kitchen table solving a code message, then they look at our calendar to see the trip written on our dates, and much screaming and falling on the floor ensues.

How cool is that! I will definite be watching!

:woohoo: Whoohooo its almost my birthday!! hehe.... 30more minutes~!!!

*crossing fingers for Mickey mail to arrive.... that would be a great birthday gift... wishing for that pixie dust!

Happy Happy Birthday to you!!!

Yeah, totally not Disney related but my eye started bothering me tonight and I just woke up from my pre-night's sleep on the couch. :rotfl: and what do I have? Yes, you guessed it...pink eye. So yummy! I just had to put in for a sub for work so I can go to the doctors tomorrow. How exciting?! Who knows where I got it from but I hate pink eye so much. Well, I am going to bed now. I need make an appointment early tomorrow morning and I still have to get up, take the kids to school, and get sub plans to my school. Ugh. Goodnight all! At least it's one sleep closer to Disney.

So sorry to hear about that. I too cannot STAND pick eye! Ugh it just drives me nuts. I'm hoping that everyone gets over their colds/illness' before we all leave. Will definitely have meds though with us. :goodvibes

last year DD had an allergic reaction to something on our last day... in fact, The rash got bad enough to really notice when we had less than a half hour until our ME bus time to head to the airport. Did you know that disney resorts do not carry any sort of childrens benedryl? Seriously. They only had the adult version. :headache: This year I packed our own! (and I got a good tip as to what it may have been that she reacted too.)

Def. good to know. I need to add that to our bag. We usually take DD15 allergy meds and DH Ibuprofen but I'll have to add benedryl for my sister and her son.

Just subscribed to the Safari Photo thread! If I can figure out how to post a pic we'll play :lmao: Maybe I'll just ask one of my teens to do it :surfweb:! We are very close to our departure day :thumbsup2, but have not yet begun to pack  I keep asking the kids "Is there anything you need before Disney?" I get blank stares: "Shoes? Sandals? Socks? New bathing suit?" Then the lightbulbs appear over their heads::idea:"Oh, Yeah! All of that!":headache: Can you tell I love :lovestruc all these animated smiley guys???

Other than anjalee's suggestion, we also add a small nail kit to ours -- it seems like whenever we forget to, someone always ends up with a torn/broken nail.

:bday:
...and hope you get your Mickey Mail too!

Boo-Hiss-to pink eye. For me there is nothing worse-hope you feel better soon!

anjalee6- I hope you beat the pink eye soon. At least you get it out of the way before disney. Being around kids, I'm sure you get your share. feel better.

I've put the family in "quarantine". Hand santizer is around every bend now. I'm so paranoid that someone will get sick the day before or day of our trip. My son had bronchitis all during our last trip, poor guy was so wiped out he only made it half the day. So we're hoping to get more done this time around.

I will start the extra vitamin c tablets for all of us this weekend.

If before or during your trip, you start to feel the least little bit of cold coming on start the Zicam. It really does work. I haven't had a full out cold or sore throat since I discovered it. I use the tablets that dissolve quickly. And if you can stand the taste, zinc logenzers help a lot too.

And for the room once we get there I have a small can of lysol and clorox wipes. DH and DS make fun of me for cleaning our room when we get there, but it makes me feel better :rotfl:

Disney Mood Music-

In case anyone is looking for a great place to hear some WDW music I suggest dtuneslive.com. You can even request songs! I love to have it playing in the background as I'm doing chores around the house :goodvibes

ok I can't believe i'm doing this again but I swear its the last time, if dc decides to bring her dd then i will smuggle her in to chef mickeys! And this ressi just goes to show you how much I wanted chef mickeys.......

we will now be dining at chef mickey's on 6/10 (our final night) at the late hour of 9:20.:sad2: But we're going and I swear I'll give those kids 5 hour energy drinks if they don't have the energy because they are not ruining my chef mickey dinner!!!!! :rotfl2:

thank goodness we only have 1 adr. I would have strangled dc if we had more

I totally agree! On our vacation last year the first thing I did was disinfect the room! My kids just looked at dh like "here she goes again with the cleaning!" lol I guess I've watched too many news shows that show yucky hotel rooms.

Great suggestion especially for my kids. Their nails grow so long that we are always cutting them. More to pack!

Yay! Just what I needed for a Disney pick me up today. Thanks for telling us about it. :woohoo:

It's changed. That's okay. I keep printing out copies of my ADRs and then second guessing myself. This happens everytime. I know things will be magical no matter what, but I keep saying, "What if we did this?" or "How about this instead?" Today, I am officially done though. NO MORE CHANGES or I will change it until the night before we leave. :rotfl2:

There have been a lot of ADR changes lately. I have been keeping up with them the best that I can and DON'T THINK I have missed any changes or additions, but if everyone gets a chance and can just check your ADRS to the list that would be great. Let me know if I forgot anything, or if anything else needs to be changed. I want to have as much updated before our actual trips so that when I start PART 2 of our thread, it will all be correct and ready to go!

another thing to add to the 1st aid kit- Pepto Bismol! I don't normally have to take anything like that at home, but I don't eat that bad at home... definitely not dessert with every meal :lmao: I don't want to chance being nauseous/upset tummy at disney! It never fails that our tummies hurt while on vacation. We're bringing children's tylenol for our DDs, and a little syringe thing for our youngest who won't drink it on her own (she's 20 months) so we can force feed it to her if necessary. And thanks to singledad we have some children's benedryl packed!

And you said neosporin, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents. They make this travel/spray neosporin and it is AWESOME! it's really small and for kids it's super easy to spray it on their skinned knees. It comes with "pain relief" too, so that's nice :)

Hope you fellow Texans have a wonderful drive! I'd be curious to hear how it goes. We live in Abilene, which is around 3 hours west of Dallas. So far I haven't been brave enough to drive, but would like to try sometime! I think the trip down wouldn't be too bad - but the drive home would be killer! Safe travels to you!

The trip down isn't bad at all. Everybody is so excited and just glad to be on vacation. The trip back is not nearly as much fun:sad1: We're all very sad and tired and not looking forward to the real world. We always take two days to drive back - we tried doing it all in one day and I was ready to walk the rest of the way home once we crossed back into Texas.

I just noticed that I havent given you a time for our ADR on June 12 for Wolfgang Puck. Its at 6:00pm. You do such a great job of keeping up the first page! :)

Another suggestion for the first aid kit is day time cold pills. On our last trip I had a cold that only last two days :rotfl: I think it was from changing temperatures so often with the air conditioner and the temperatures outside. It could have also been from the plane as well since I got sick the day after we got there. Anyways I had to buy some cold pills while we were there and all they had were night time one's which were still nice because they let me sleep well but I wish I had some for the day as well. I'm bringing my own this trip because I have a feeling I could get sick again. My immune system kind of stinks :sad2:

Great suggestion especially for my kids. Their nails grow so long that we are always cutting them. More to pack!

June 23rd Akershus 6:50 pm

June 26th Boma 4:00 pm

June 30 Kona 7:30 am

thanks so much!!!

Has anyone been doing anything to get physically "disney ready"? I've been walking to pick dd up from preschool every day about 2 miles away from home, back and forth about 4 miles, completely up hill on the way home. Dd is not too pleased with me :rotfl2: but this way I won't feel too horrible if I make her walk one morning or afternoon since I'll know she's ready. To top it off its been drizzly here all week but I figure its more realistic!!:rotfl:
