Come join in the planning for June 2011. It's hot, there are tons of people, but it's Disney...so join in the fun of discussing your upcoming June trip to the World.

Our wonderful group is growing larger so I have made a few changes to our lists. I have separated everything by day to make information easier to find. I hope this helps everyone find information more easily.

The June Threads Tips for Disney Vacations​

1) Ziplock bags for packing kids clothes. (1 bag for each day)
2) clear bag for security checks
3) Take naps
4) carry an insulated water bottle
5) know "your" family when planning
6) get up early and take advantage of rope drop, then relax in afternoon
7) take a break to avoid meltdowns
8) pack ziplock bags for wash clothes (wet and freeze the night before)
9) take advantage of fast pass
10) for buffets ask for bill with drinks so you can leave directly after finishing meal
11) plan ahead as much as possible, but don't overplan
12) pack ponchos
13) sit down for meals at least once a day
14) remember a backpack for supplies during the day
15) Pack chargers in ziplock bag (label the charger so you know what it is for)
16) bring a first aid kit
17) bring extra batteries for toys bought while on vacation (nothing is worse than by light up spinner, etc and having them run out of batteries on vacation)
18) Take a picture of your photopass card so that if you lose it, it can be replaced
19) Write your name on your camera so if it is lost the person can call
20)

We (husband and 2 sons) are coming for 3 weeks from 8th June. Am really excited to hear about everyone's plans. We are planning to do the Disney parks for the first week and a half and then have the orlando flex ticket for the remainder. I have roughly planned out the disney parks with help from a couple of crowd calenders, but need help planning days for seaworld, busch gardens, universal studios and IOA, and aquatica. Are there any crowd calenders out there for those parks, or could anyone reccomend particular parks on particular days or days to avoid them?

Also, I am trying to decide between 2 chararter breakfasts AK Tusker House buffet breakfast and MK Crystal Palace Character meal breakfast winnie the pooh?

Any advice greatly recieved.

It looks like we'll be stepping outside of our "comfort zone" and go this June as soon as my DS is out of school, which should be around 6/10. After our last trip at the end of October we decided not to be so terrified of the hot summer since the heat index was 105 in October! I know this wasn't normal, but we've helped break records for the heat on 3 out of 4 trips! So, I hope for you guys going near our time that doesn't happen again!

We're also trying to plan a day or two (at the most) to go to IOA and/or Universal Studios but I'm more afraid of the crowds and the heat there, then at WDW - probably fear of the unknown? Any suggestions?

Looking forward to counting down the months with you guys!

We love both character meals for different reasons. The food at both is about the same. We like the juice they serve at Tusker House. It's very tropical. The character interaction at both we have found to be good. I guess I would say to go with which characters you and your family like better.

I'm sorry I don't have any advice for seaworld and such. We haven't been in so many years, I wouldn't know what to recommend anymore. Welcome to the new board.

I can tell you that we've been to the Crystal Palace 2 or 3 times and it's one of our favorites for breakfast. We like getting an 8:05am ADR on a day the MK opens at 9:00am so you can get in the MK a little earlier and experience it slightly empty!

Welcome Heather! I know what you mean about the heat and stepping out of your comfort zone. We always go in July and this year we are trying June. Last year was just so hot all around. We were there when it was the hottest July days in years. We were prepared for heat, but we took my mom who was not so fond of the heat and didn't fair so well (she has a history of heart problems and had a minor issue when we were there). Let's just say that we know all about Celebration hospital if anyone wants to know. lol. Everything turned out okay, but we are thinking June might be a little less intense. I know, it's wishful thinking, but we needed an excuse for a change anyway...just couldn't wait any longer for another Disney trip. And my mom also decided that this year she is going to skip the trip.

I second the Crystal Palace. Being able to walk down Main Street in an empty park is a cool experience. I've done the AK buffet before the park opens but you don't get that same thrill as you do when you see Cinderella's Castle before anyone else.

I agree. It is a very cool experience to walk down main street with no one else around. If you can find a photo pass person or someone to take a family photo for you, it's an great picture with no one in your way!

DS was 5 when we saw it and he loved it. Not sure if the Dinner package is worth it. They put you all the way off to the right side of the stadium. I think for young ones, they can nap in the stroller while you wait on line. We've never done Fantasmic either. We are such sticklers for the boy's bedtime. This year, I might allow Ry (our 6 year old) enjoy the parks a little later. DH can take the baby back to the room

Sooooooo excited!!! We will be returning to Disney World June 2nd-9th, staying the the CR Garden Wing. Just found out that my DBIL and his family will be joining us this time as well. I was able to get all the ADR's we wanted, so now the hard part is waiting for June to get here.

THanks for the youtube suggestion. I didn't think about that. My son loves the villians and I think would be fine, but the LO gets scared can sometimes get scared of monsters so I didn't know whether it would be too much for her.

Ohana's changed from Sunday 6/5 to Saturday 6/4 at 8:10 (had to make fantasmic) Then on Sunday we added Mama Melrose F! Package at 3:15 and Cancelled Tony's Town Square on 6/7
