Wow am I glad I looked at this thread last night! I was able to get a compact from Alamo for $113 for April 19-27. Today I checked and it had jumped back up to $300!

I won't stop looking yet. It may be as we get closer to Easter, the prices will be higher, but they may drop again. My last trip (January) they didn't start dropping until the week I was due to leave and ended up paying $135 total for a 12 day reservation (full size-National). One of my best rates ever. Since Alamo has been lower lately, I think it's National's turn now so I would welcome some new lower price there. I prefer them because of the aisle and maintaining my Exec. status (40 rental days a year).

omgosh just checked alamo again and got a deal for $123.40 including tax and fees! dates april 12-18.......this is down from my rental with budget for 175 which i'm going to cancel now

thanks for all the help guys! also i used the coupon code AD2359FDF for the 35 off, do i need to have something physical to show them for that? because it gave me a red status at the top of the page saying *the coupon code you have used may require a physical coupon or membership to use*

The code doesn't require a printed coupon, but I will just take my membership card. Many times they do not ask, but we had to provide it on 2 occasions.

just checked our dates on alamo again just for the heck of it. We're looking for a mid size SUV from April 29th - May 9th, the rate we're getting now gives us a total of $274! I put in no special codes or coupons either, I'm totally amazed. We were getting a rate of about $500 in January so we never booked. We have the same class and time period reserved through Budget for $311. Looks like I'll be cancelling budget.

edited to add: I just modified with alamo to include my insider membership ID and took another $23 off, we're now at $251!

Wow just got a great rate from Alamo using the costco ID and the $35 coupon AD2359FDF.. total including taxes for a premium (this was cheaper than everything else) was $105 !!

Just like everyone else it seems, I logged in and was able to get March 22 - 27th with Costco code (inc free addtional driver) and $15 off code for $92. I am pretty happy.

I then checked my friends rental of April 12 - 23rd, again with Costco and a $30 off coupon and hers dropped from $334 to $145! We are thrilled. It is for a compact car.

Keep trying...they do drop!

The Alamo person that I spoke to said it was not affiliated with anything she could find and she congratulated me on the code. I've used it 3 times with no problem.

Ditto!! I just used TI1 and $35 coupon and got $257 for a minivan for 4/14 - 4/20. That's down from $500+ being the best I could get from any of the major brands, and even better than the Payless ressie I got on CarRentalSavers. I'm thrilled at getting such a good rate from an "In-Terminal" company, but I'm worried they're going to ask me for something for using the "Pep Master" contract ID. What is it??

Yesterday I got a minivan rate for April 19th (8PM) to April 26th (8:30PM) for a total of $224 after the insider code and $35 coupon. Strangely I could not get this for 8P to 8P, but when I changed it to 8:30PM it dropped alot. Since we are just changing from a minivan to a full size I could be flexibile with the times. This morning the rates went way up. Glad I locked in yesterday. Still hoping for some drops with National.

It's electronic, there's nothing to present. It's an American airlines code. I joined their Advantage club a few minutes ago just in case. After you join, there will be a temporary card that comes up on the screen. Snip it or save the image to your desktop. Then print it out and take it with you. The code says nothing about being only for Advantage members but I did it as insurance.
