It is actually hilarious that people on the runDisney Facebook are complaining that they had to take a cab back to their non-host resort. I don't get what's so hard about staying at a host resort.

Oh I've seen people complain about Disney needing to fix the fact that they don't provide shuttle service to a nonDisney resort, let alone a nonhost one. lol

how do you get that image of your finish stats?

I have been able to get to the results page and click on my name to see the nice image.

However, I have not been able to save it down anywhere so that I can have it.

Does anyone know the solution to doing this?

that I don't know. she passed me sometime before the Animal Kingdom, and I was in D.

I was in corral D, never saw a stroller. I hate strollers. I am surprised by that.

I saw the stroller lady too right in the first mile so I think she was in E. I think someone said they thought she had something on that looked like she was a volunteer? And I thought I saw her with a volunteer outside of animal kingdom.

I'm hurting more today but in retrospect I have to say that I really enjoyed the race. I would definitely do it again. I liked running at night and I liked running thru the parks and the roadways. Disney world is my happy place so to run through it like this was just incredible!

I did not find the part between DHS and boardwalk as bad as some- there always seemed to be some people running that I could slip thru with or I'd walk behind a walker. Which was good because that's where I had planned to bump up my speed.

My biggest "complaint" was the strobe light lady gaga fog tunnel at the end. Very cool but what a tease when u still had so far to run (by then it felt like "so far" to me!) well, the ak entrance was awful ill also agree with that too and the entertainment wasn't as much as I expected but I wasn't planning on paying much attention to it so I didn't mind anyway.

I was a fortunate one who was directed to the "other side" just as they were allowing people to cross in Epcot. I'm glad I saw the volunteer an his flashlight because I was hauling at that time and blew past just trusting his instructions. Didn't know what was going on but just caught up with the other runners and said... Oh! To myself.

I thought the temps were nice and the backlot of MGM felt long to me but otherwise I really had fun!

looks like you have to take a screenshot. then paste into an image program to edit and save.

I'm with ya! Felt like I was having some kind of Poltergeist moment there..."come into the light Kimberley...":lmao:

Already looking to sign up for a 5k in December. In a lot of pain today so I must be a glutton for punishment!:hyper:::yes::

I had a stroller person right up behind me in the first mile or so. I was at the very back of E, so she must have come in there somehow. Not cool.

This was my first RunDisney event, and compared to the other local events I've participated in, I found it incredibly well run. I was worried about the logistics of getting from the resort to the starting line, loading to the corrals, porta-johns, checking and claiming bags, etc, etc, etc. Everything with regard to that ran incredibly smoothly.

I'm looking forward to the TinkerBell Half in Disneyland this upcoming January. Planning to participate in the Wine & Dine again next year for the C2C medal. I'm threatening my husband with Everest in May. We'll see about that one.

Here's my race report.

OMG. I feel so bad for you. Those pictures were heartbreaking. Sorry it wasn't fun.

It is actually hilarious that people on the runDisney Facebook are complaining that they had to take a cab back to their non-host resort. I don't get what's so hard about staying at a host resort.

I ran the Princess 1/2 this year and had to stay at OKW b/c every other DVC that hosted was booked and I wasn't paying cash if I had the points. I don't know why they just don't make every hotel a host hotel like they do with the Marathon in January. I had to take a $4 cab from OKW to POFQ next door to take the bus from there. Not too bad. If people complain about off-property cabs, well, that's like complaining Disney doesn't have a bus to drive you straight to the parks from your off-site hotel.

I think the host resort thing is cost analysis. Buses are expensive. It doesn't make financial sense to have buses for the 8 people who are staying at the Polynesian, when you can create an incentive for them to stay at a host resort.

Congrats to everyone who participated. This was my first run Disney ever and i had a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so proud of myself i never stopped once to walk I was able to run it the whole length. My only stops were for a brief bathroom break and a couple picture ops. With minimal training I was still able to pull it off in 2:26. :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

My only concern is I wish people who walk would stay on one side and allow runners to run on the other. Nothing agianst people who walk I admire you for getting up and taking part in this great event!!!

I am guessing you must have started in the back corrals. With that time, you should probably make it to one of the first few corrals next time and you won't have an issue with walkers. I was in B, and most stayed to the right (except for the bottleneck areas), but I would imagine the amount of walkers increased by the corral. Great job on your first Half Marathon! That is a great time for your first!! If you did that well with minimal training, you should do so much better if you follow a training plan strictly the next time! :thumbsup2

Thank you for putting this so succinctly! :thumbsup2 I love the fact that so many people had the guts to even sign up for this (and walk!), but from the back corrals, it was so aggravating and I do believe it did somewhat affect my time :sad1:. I figured I could have finished in 2:30 or less and I finished in 2:48. If I did it again, I think I'd still end up starting in the back. Oh well, lesson learned!:confused3

Run a 10K during the year to get a good time, and then submit this to Disney. I had never run a half before, and had no official times to provide when I first registered.

I ran a 10K over the summer, and then submitted that time to RunDisney. I ended up in Corral C. My wife was in the same position and ended up in Corral B.

I know better now for next year and hopefully can bump up a few corral. Originally I was in C however I was with a friend who was in E so I ran with him. Now I know better............ I think the worse bottleneck area was between Epcot and Studios. That little space when you are entering Boardwalk :crazy2:

Good to know, thanks :thumbsup2! I don't know if I'll run this again anyway :scratchin, thanks to my knees. But we'll see....:confused3

I went in with a broken toe, barely ate anything all day before the race (how stupid was that?) and decided I wanted to get pics of stuff - so my time was nowhere near what I wanted it to be. No biggie, I still had a blast.

Anyone see this sign along the way? My coworkers came out to cheer me on, and I was dying laughing at everything they had (a loud horn, glitter, etc):
