** OPENING DAY PRICING 2018 Pt 3 September-December: Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy **

Thank you moderators for posting. One correction that looks like not updated- Wonder 10/19 EBPC quote in 8A should be in 10A for 1A/1C not 8A for 2A/1C. Thx!

Thanks for the heads up - does it look OK now?

Added the couple since camcolt came by - thank you for your assist! :D

I see some quotes for the Canadian cruises. Just curious how many of you are actually going to book one. It seems like it's either expensive or difficult to get to Quebec. Actually airfares are not bad from AZ, but the flights aren't great. Very time consuming multiple connections. I can be in Europe faster then I can get to Quebec. I looked at airfare from some of the East coast cities and it seemed pretty high.

We booked Quebec-NYC today. for 2 of us a Cat V was $8900.80 (we did not book that). We did book a 4B for $6100.80 for 2 of us which was just about the same price we were paying for Sept 2018 Western Caribbean Cat V on the Fantasy. We live on the East Coast and will fly from Boston to Montreal and then connecting flight from Montreal-Quebec

I think I'm going to book the WBTA. I should have got a quote for 4 but I don't think my dhcan get that much time off nor can my oldest son miss high school. The sept 27 may work with Fall break, but it's priced too high. I've pretty much reached my breaking point for booking Disney cruises for 4 people. I can afford it, but Im not comfortable with it. I'll have a better idea when I can play around with the prices online Thursday. I really like the Quebec itinerary. I'm a little nervous about crossing the Atlantic. I get a little  If the swells get too big.

Look at cruise fish and see what opening day prices are for Christmas 2017. This cruise may not have gone up in price that much because it started at the highest tier.I just booked Alaska sept 2017 which is less then the same dates sept 2018. Not all cruises go up in price especially cruises in the Fall. Some of the longer European cruises, Fantasy southerns and holiday cruises start super high and don't go up anymore. There's a limit to what people are people are willing to spend. If you start a cruise out at 13k for a family of four in an inside room. How can you raise the the price and still sell it? Cruise fish is a great tool to look at past prices and price increases.

I'm on cruise fish but I can not seem to figure out how to see opening day prices for Fall 2017 cruises. I can only see current Cruise prices I think?! It's a tad confusing over there to me.

If you hover over the current price, a box with the historical pricing will pop up.

Try this site as well. https://touringplans.com/disney-cruise-line/tools/fare-tracker You do not need a subscription to check cruise prices. I find it easier to use than Cruise Fish. Sometimes it's hard to figure out the correct itinerary, but with some trial and error you'll find it. I like that you can select different passenger combinations.

We live about an hour east of Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is a wonderful city, but it completely stinks when you're trying to fly somewhere other than a hub. I've tried everything I can think of to make this cruise work for us, but it's not looking good. We can drive home from Quebec City (or Montreal) in less time than we can fly. But then, no one is going to rent us a car in Canada and let us drop it off in Latrobe, PA. So you have to find a border town where you can drop it off, then rent another car for the rest of the way. The easiest and least expensive way would be for us to drive our own car to NYC, leave it, take the cruise, then fly from Quebec City back to NYC and then drive 5 hours home. But given that we already have an NCL cruise that sails roundtrip from NYC to Quebec City booked at the same time, I'm really having a hard time taking on the added travel hassle.

My TA will give me prices in the morning (considering B2B just to avoid the travel issues), but looking at these quotes, I'm betting we stay with NCL and the ease of a round trip. It's a shame. I would love to do this on DCL, but the logistics just make it difficult.

In the long run I wonder how well these cruises are going to sell. The difficulty and cost of getting to Quebec added to the cost of paying the DCL premium may be a deal breaker for many families. Its a shame they didn't do a round trip 10-12 day cruise. New York to Quebec and back to New York. That would have been an awesome cruise.

Completely agree. We'd be on it.

Well, and the Vancouver ones do so well though... I think Disney only did Seattle once since it made more sense to go out of BC. I too wonder how well Quebec will work out comparatively though...! :scratchin

I did a quick search and it would be almost $1000 to fly with one stop versus ~$400 for two stops to get there from Oregon. Not worth it...

Added up to here!

The Vancouver ones are roundtrip. A 1 way Quebec/NY is far more difficult. Even though we wouldn't be able to go Fall 2018, I was trying to figure it out for us. We live in Massachusetts--if it was roundtrip we could drive to either port. For flights, even from Boston, there isn't much in the way of non-stop to/from Quebec--and I'd much rather be flying out of Manchester, NH. I've seen ads in the paper for cruises from Boston to Montreal/Quebec that are 1 way--AND include a bus trip back to the originating port. That's what DCL needs to do. (Now if DCL did this cruise out of Boston, I'd suck it up and figure out how to get to/from Quebec. It's the fact that I'd need to get to/from 2 different cities in 2 countries that's the problem!)

Most of the Vancouver cruises are when schools out thats a big factor when it comes to Disney. Alaska is also a huge seller for all cruiselines. I could be wrong, but I could see the Quebec cruises being like the Vancouver- Hawaii cruises. Everyone loves the itinerary but logistically so difficult for a lot of people.

Very true, summer is a different beast than fall! There are so many cruisers from Canada that might be able to get there easier - I wonder if that's what DCL is trying to gauge? Seeing how the NYC ones sell vs Quebec? Can you guys on the east coast really not get one way rentals..? That is how we did Alaska - we drove up from Oregon in a rental and returned the car in Vancouver then flew home from Anchorage (it was a one way).

Those who posted prices WITH OBB, what does that mean, how does it effect the price? Is it a certain percentage lower than no OBB?

Then again the TA's and Panama sell really well, but they are usually priced pretty low. They also attract a larger number of retired people. A one way rental seems like a pretty good solution if you live in New York. What if you live in a city close to New York that doesn't have flights to New York do you have to drive to New york leave your car there and drive from Quebec to New york pick up your car and then drive back home. I can see how it could get complicated for a lot of people. There's just not enough flights from the US to Quebec to make it an easy port.

I haven't actually called any rental companies, but from what I've gleaned online your best bet is to drop off at a town near the Canadian border (or pay an enormous drop off fee - I've seen people quoting $1K but have no first hand knowledge if that is correct). We were considering switching cars in Buffalo, NY as that would send us home through Erie, PA which is where our son is in college. But even then, it's honestly a pain in the you know what. Sigh. I really, really want to take this cruise on Disney, but not making it RT out of NYC is probably going to be the deal breaker.
