***Hey, Hey! Come right in and plan, OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2017 thread!!!***

Now that I booked us in to AKL the last 3 days of the trip, I feel like my plan is coming together and am happy with how its all settled out. My BFF, Kenzie and I are doing a girls only trip for F&W, we are doing several events during the week.

Travel day – work all day then fly out at dinner time. Check in to All Star Movies, maybe Uber to Disney Springs or over to PORS to see Bob Jackson and get a drink or just head to bed.

Day 1 - Epcot 8:15am Garden Grill then head straight to Soarin’ the Living with the Land. Do some rides in FW and then head to FEA and in to world showcase starting with Margaritas in Mexico and hitting up a couple of the food booths.
Resort afternoon - About 4pm will head over to WL to look around and have a drink at Geyser Point, then over to the Poly to relax at the Tambu Lounge and Trader Sam’s for a few drinks.
9pm we have an ADR for the California Grill and we will watch the fireworks from MNSSHP.
Fastpasses 9am Spaceship Earth
10am Journey in to Imagination
11am FEA

Day 2 – DHS Rope drop Rockin Roller Coaster and we have a 11am ADR at Sci Fi Dine in. I’m hoping to score an Illuminations Fastpass after the morning at DHS, if I don’t, I’m not all that worried.
Fastpasses 9:30am Tower of Terror
10:30am TSMM
11:30am Star Tours
Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic - 5:30-9:30pm then over to Epcot to see Illuminations.

Day 3 – Epcot – Rope drop Joy & Sadness and Baymax
Fastpasses 9am Character Spot
10am Test Track
11am Turtle Talk with Crush
12pm – 3:30pm French Family Meal Traditions at Monsieur Paul
Hang out at the World Showcase drinking and sampling some of the food booths, if we have room, watch Illuminations and stay until the 11pm close if we can make it. So sad Universe of Energy will be gone. :guilty:

Day 4 – MK – 8am BOG ADR then hopefully do both SDMT and Peter Pan, I don’t have to do SDMT, so might skip and do Peter Pan. Then head over to Tomorrowland and work our way over to Adventureland. This is an evening EMH night, so we will stay till close. After initial fastpasses, we will just go with whatever we can snag.
Fastpasses 10:30am Jungle Cruise
11:30am Pirates
12:30pm BTMRR
Currently I have 2 other ADR’s scheduled this day, still undecided about which to chose, 2:15pm@LTT or 4pm@ BOG. I am not sure I want to eat at BOG with all the other huge meals we have with F&W. Any opinions?

Day 5 – Check out of All Stars and move over to AKL!
DAK – AM EMH 8am rope drop FOP and N’avi River, then to the Safari. Then we will wander around take in the sights and just enjoy DAK, my favorite park. I will work our plans around if I get FOP or not and what time. Want to do Everest after dark and the safari again around sunset.
3:10pm ADR at Tiffins and we will end the evening seeing ROL.

Day 6 – sleep in a bit and enjoy AKL in the morning. Head over to Epcot about 10:30am, maybe Spaceship Earth on the way to world showcase
12pm-2:30pm Italian Food and Wine Pairing at Tutto Gusto
Not sure what we will do this afternoon and evening. So many options, Disney Springs? Stay in Epcot or maybe head back to DAK for the afternoon and evening.
We will probably do dinner at Jiko this evening, even its late.

Day 7 – sleep in a bit and enjoy AKL in the morning. Head over to Epcot about 10:30am
12pm-1:30pm Mexican Tequila Lunch at La Hacienda then maybe some tequila flights at La Cava. Kenzie wants to the do one of the Culinary demos this day, so she might do that at 2:30pm.
We will either stay at Epcot this evening or head over to MK if we want to do more rides. If we are too tired might head over to PORS to see Bob Jackson or just hang at AKL. I will make Fastpasses at MK this evening, just in case.

Day 8 - Boma@9am then head home about noon.

Once fastpasses are done the end of the month, I have to figure out the December trip for DH and I. :faint:

I can't speak for all of October as I posted earlier but on October first atleast it should be open until atleast 8:00 and likely much later. I have ROL dining for the first show. Since the FP is for the first show that indicates that there is a second show. Since ROL first show can't be any earlier 7:30 I think you can, on atleast that day, expect a closing closer to 9:00
Dining packages always say "first show" - this simply means that IF there are multiple showings, your voucher is only good for the first one (same as F!). It does not guarantee additional shows, unfortunately. Though I do agree we will likely see hours extended somewhat.

Righto, I am feeling pretty good that all my planning is coming together! I have booked SWDP, and today managed to get the HEA DP too (garden plaza). That one had been showing as sold out for the last week or so (pretty much between thinking about it and seeing that there were spaces left, and deciding to book, argh!) but today I managed to get the booking. I figured that with the limited nights HEA is on due to the MNSSHP, and having our DD with us, who isn't at all tall, having guaranteed decent viewing was worth the insane cost.

The only thing I haven't booked is the MNSSHP. I really should as we are intending to go, I don't know why I am holding off!

I did the same in June, it was really nice to relax and enjoy some treats then stroll out to the viewing area. When it got a little stormy they handed out ponchos too! It was really a great experience especially if you have a shorty. I know people knock the dessert parties but they're great if you don't want to fight people for a spot. My son got to feel very fancy with his 3 or 4 cups of sparkling juice, too. Great bonus :)

Sigh. Getting stressed about the approaching FP+ day. This is my first time dealing with the new system and I'm making them for a varied six-person group. (And my dad's already looking at my plan and wondering if we have enough "down time.")

Tell me what you think of this day one plan? It's for Oct. 29, so the park closes earlier for MNSSHP, but we all really wanted to see MK on our first day.

Get to the MK by about 1:30 p.m.

Fastpass one for all at 2 p.m. at Small World. (I know, I know, but it's a family favorite.)

Fastpass two for all at 3 p.m. at Peter Pan.

ADR at Crystal Palace at 3:55 p.m.

Fastpass three about 6 p.m. YDS and me at Space Mountain, all the others at Pooh.

With other rides, etc. slotted in as time permits.

Any thoughts really appreciated. I'd like to share the other days too, as I keep looking at them.

My FP day was today and I got most of the times I wanted. One thing that happened to me was I went in on my computer was able to choose the people and the date but then got the Olaf error page that something was wrong. I panicked and started using my phone instead. When I went back to my computer to look at my plans on the Disney website it seems that I was logged out. I had signed on to the page to get ready and didn't realize I had been signed out. So, just a heads up for you.

One suggestion is to take a look at the FP thread on the boards. https://www.disboards.com/threads/fastpass-frequently-asked-questions.3491680/ It is a great resource for choosing which rides need a FP and how the system works.

Another thought is that if you are arriving at 1:30, try to get three FP before you go to your Crystal Palace meal. That way you might have a chance to get a fourth FP for after your meal. You can even do FP at 1:15-2:15, 2:15-3:15 and 3:15-4:15. Then as soon as you are done with the third ride you can try to get a fourth FP.

Thanks! Oh, I've read the thread through (mostly, I think) and studied up quite a bit. I know SW might be a "waste" of a FP. :) But as I said, it's a family favorite and I want our first ride to be something all of us can ride.

OK, so you don't think those times are too close together? That's great to know! I might do that.

I'm going with my sister and she insists we do IASW too! As for the timing, only you know your family and what works best for you. We are fast walkers but since all your rides are in the Fantasyland area it might work for you. You can get to a FP 5 minutes in advance and I believe a few minutes late but not sure on that part. Another option is to modify your existing FP to move the next ones up if possible, but that requires some management and can be a pain IMO.

May I ask a question. So you were signed into your account and ready to make your FPs when their system kicked you out ? Is that correct ?

I had the same experience when I did my FP, got the Olaf page on my desktop, so jumped on my phone, with no problems there.

That is correct. I had signed in about 10 minutes or so in advance so I could be ready to go and then went about my business. I jumped right on at 7:00 and that is when I had issues. Once I realized what had happened I logged in but kept getting booted out quite frequently then and still throughout the day.

Thank you for the quick response. So would you suggest signing out and then signing in right at 7 EST ?

I posted this on another thread I started but thought I would post this here as it may interest some of you-especially who have their Fastpass Day coming up. My wife and I jumped right on at 7AM Eastern and we had success. Here is my post/summary:

It went very well I thought. We didn't get shut out on anything we wanted.

6 day trip (10/8 to 10/13):
We got Flight of Passage twice including Day 3!
Flight of Passage at 5:50 on Tuesday and 10:35 on Friday.
Frozen was later (5:10) but pretty good I thought for day 2.
7 Dwarfs we got later (4:45) but on Day 1 and we got it in the morning on Day 5.

Everything else we got at our time or very close. With the kids, we stressed proximity with fastpasses and having an opening for lunch and 3-4 hour mid-day break.

Here is what we currently got (Group of 13 with 2,3,6,7 year olds):

Sunday 10-8 (MK):
10:20- Buzz Lightyear
11:20- Space Mt
4:45- 7 Dwarfs (Group of 10)
4:45- Peter Pan (Me, my wife, and 2 year old- will child swap 7 Dwarfs after)
Our plan above is to rope drop Peter Pan with the entire group, and build some confidence with the young ones by riding Pan, Pooh, Little Mermaid during the first 2 hours.

Monday 10-9 (EC):
10:15-Turtle Talk
11:25-Spaceship Earth
5:10-Frozen
We will rope drop Test Track and Soarin and try to get a big chunk of Future World done in the morning. Break mid-day, countries in the evening.

Tuesday 10-10 (AK):
10:05-Kali River Rapids
11:05-Expedition Everest
5:50- Flight of Passage
We are hoping to rope drop Navi River and then head right to Kilmanjaro and if time do Festival of the Lion King before Kali.

Wednesday 10-11 (DHS):
10:00- Star Tours
11:10-Tower of Terror (Group of 7)
11:15-Rock N Roller Coaster (Group of 5)
12:15- Tower of Terror (Group of 5)
12:15- Rock N Roller Coaster (Group of 7)
(Plan on taking advantage of child swap to get some extra rides on the above 2).
We will drop Toy Story (maybe do it twice?) then head to Muppets/Star Tours. We split up our group on the fastpasses with RNRC and TOT. With child swap we can get the kids and other to get to ride each of them twice while our 2/3 year olds break and eat nearby.

Thursday 10-12 (MK):
9:25-Big Thunder Mt
10:35- Under the Sea (Me, my wife, and 2 year old- will child swap 7 Dwarfs after)
10:50- 7 Dwarfs
12:20-Enchanted Tales
Plan is to rope drop Jungle Cruise and Pirates. We will take the little ones to Tom Sawyer during the Big Thunder Child Swap. Mid-day break and HOPEFULLY get a Space Mt. Fastpass in the evening.

Friday 10-13 (AK-then to MNSSHP at night)
9:35- Kilmanjaro Safaris
10:35-Flight of Passage
11:50-Expedition Everest
Rope drop Navi. We will head back for a long break after Everest in preparation for MNSSHP.

What do you think?! We will tweak a few times if the opportunity is there, but we were thrilled not to get shut out on anything we wanted.

Hi Everyone, I stopped by here when this thread was new, hadn't been by for a while, and now it's up to 66 pages, wow! My trip is 10/28 - 11/11. Most of the time I'll be hanging out with friends, but I'm on my own a bit at the beginning.

If there is another solo traveller who might like to meet up for a meal, I currently have an extra spot in my dining reservation for late lunch at Sci Fi Dine-In on 10/29, and late breakfast at Garden Grill on 10/30. You're welcome to send me a message for more info. (Also already posted this on solos board, but wanted to mention here to my fellow October visitors.) :thumbsup2

Today was FP day, and I am fairly confident with what we were able to get. We are trying to not do TS this trip (Saana does not count), and I was able to drop the ROL and Fantasmic! dining we had as I was able to get a FP for them.

Our plans so far:

10/8: Arrive at MCO at 5:37 pm. Hit EPCOT, once we get checked in. I have a FP for Frozen 7:05-8:05 (pushing it I know) and Spaceship Earth at 8:05-9:05.
10/9 MK/MNSSHP: Late arrival to the park (we are not morning peeps, two adults). BTMRR 2:05, HM 4:00; Pirates 5:30 then the PARTY!
10/10: AK - EE 2:40; Na'vi River Journey 4:20; ROL 7:20
10/11: EP late morning/mid day: Test Track 12:45, Pixar 2:40 & Living with the Land 4:05. MK for Fireworks Dessert Party (as the only other night it is showing when we are there, is arrival day)
10/12: HS, Tower of Terror 2:15, Star Tours 4:40 & F! 7:20
10/13: EP late afternoon/night: Spaceship Earth 4:35, Figment 5:30 & Illuminations 9:40
10/14: AK Flight of Passage at 12:40 pm. Our plane leaves at 5:30, so its a bit tight, but if we dont hit it on 10/10, then today it is!!

No TS, only the dessert party. Should be interesting.

Thank you for the quick response. So would you suggest signing out and then signing in right at 7 EST ?
I would sign in a few minutes before 7 EST and have a phone handy with the MDE app to use. By the way, if you haven't updated your MDE app (like me), they are only supporting the old version until 8/17.

I am going in October we arrive on the 27th of October and are staying till the 11th of November. Staying at the B resort and spa in Lake Buena vista (near Disney Springs) so so excited

This trip is turning out to be a real pain in my butt.
Now I can't make fast passes for all of us at once like I thought I could. People are arriving later, but since they have a package and not a separate ticket on it's own, I have to wait for each of their windows to open. I have to make fast passes on 3 different days. Forget getting FOP together, let alone at all for those of them with shorter trips.

I'm getting cranky and I don't get cranky, crap keeps going wrong.

Well that sucks! Did you run this scenario by hiroMyhero and Mesa Boy on the FP thread? I seem to remember reading when everyone is linked on MDE that you can start making FPs even if they arrive after you. I kind of scan those posts though because they don't apply to my trip, so I might be wrong. Sorry!! Hope it all works out!
