***Riding out the hurricane at a Disney resort? Post your experiences here!***

I Have a Shepherd mix and I would still need to take him out. There is no way he would go inside of a building.
The other day on Facebook, I saw where someone made a doggy potty to put in their garage during the storm. It was a plastic kiddie pool with sod in it. That's brilliant!!!! That would even work up north in the winter for dogs who don't like snow. So simple, easy & cheap!!

On Disney Cruise Line the sod in a kiddie pool out on the veranda is what they do for service dogs stuck on a ship for days...

Governor of FL mandated all hotels must take in pets with guests a few days ago. I think that is a fantastic idea as so many people refuse to evacuate due to pets.

This rumor keeps popping up here and isn't true. Rick Scott urged hotels to reconsider their policies and allow all pets during the hurricane - it's not a mandate. Disney did the right thing by allowing people to bring their pets with them. I wouldn't want anyone to think this is a law and then be turned away with their pet and in a potentially unsafe situation.

And..... Just got an email that our Monday and our backup Tuesday flights home have been canceled. Officially freaking out a bit.

According to the FAA, MCO airport is currently expected to begin operating on Monday 9/11 at 2:00 pm.

A lot of posters on the TPAS Irma thread are reporting that their incoming (to MCO) flights on Tuesday are being cancelled. Incoming flights being cancelled directly affect outgoing flights. I would suggest anyone with a flight using MCO on Monday or Tuesday check with their airlines. The earlier you find out your flight is cancelled, the earlier you can re-book and find an available seat.

Not sure if anyone posted already...

Just saw on twitter that resort dining locations expected to close at 3 are now open until 7:30.

Dance party going on right now with Safari Goofy and cast members!

PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE -- Steady rainfall. Chip and Dale had the kids in the lobby following them around like they were airplanes SO CUTE. The kids loved it.

New information from CHNL 3 says resort dining now available until 7:30. Still says there is a 7:00 pm curfew and at that time guests must remain at their resort (earlier today it said guests must remain in their rooms).

With all the pets, I wonder with WDW will do for room cleaning. I am really glad they are doing this. I think even in Matthew they required all pets to tot he kennel.

My DS at age 30 is now okay allergy wise. But he was born with immune system deficiencies that meant that exposure to pet dander (or dust. Or leaf mold. Or chalk...) meant that he would break out in hives and have a major asthma attack on exposure. At least in those days we would save to stay at a deluxe result so that we could request special allergy cleaning that would clean the tops of bureaus and do a thorough dust and vacuum. If he had stayed in a room where there had been a dog or cat, he would have had a reaction.

Which is why we had lizards, turtles and ball pythons. Becoming a non pet resort again could take a while.

I am happy that so many of you are being positive during this difficult time. Stay safe.
