Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Stayed at AKL Savannah View Club (not DVC) from 8/29-9/01. We were not greeted on arrival, but we were very early. Grumpy front desk lady escorted us upstairs, where Sue took great care of us. We were given a goody bag, which contained a welcome letter and some granola from the Ganachery. Food offerings were plentiful. Some were mediocre and some were delicious (special shout out for the muffins and the soup!). The breakfast offering repeated every two days. There was a obnoxiously loud kid repeatedly complaining to cast members during appetizer service on our first night (the food was not out on time), but other than that, the other guests were quite pleasant to be around. We received turn down service on the first night (not requested), but declined it for the other two nights. Chocolate was not included with turn down. The room did not have robes or slippers. The room did not have any additional or premium toiletries. Every CL cast member that we encountered was pleasant and extremely helpful. We had no problem with any requests, and drinks were offered to us on several occasions. The animals were amazing. They loved hanging out below our balcony. We had a lovely time, but we will probably try a different hotel next time (maybe BWI).

Thanks for your review. Glad you had a nice time :wizard:.

Any suggestion for GF RPC standard room request. It will be our first time at RPC in December :dogdance:
We were in room 4423 for our stay last November. Our balcony overlooked the splash pad below. This room had a small foyer area when you entered, as well as a small sink counter area in the room. ( Not sure if this is a "standard" or another type of room. We had booked Sugarloaf for that stay and were upgraded upon arrival. ) We could watch the water pageant from our balcony at night. The xmas tree ( it went up the day before we left) was just below us, directly in front of our room. Very convenient to the lounge...just steps away. The private little hallway kept all lounge noise out though. I LOVED RPC and hope you do too!

So when we stayed Deluxe for the fist time we told ourselves we would never do a non-deluxe again.... now we're doing CL for the first time and I'm beginning to think this is going to be a trend. I guess I can't go much higher than that unless I go crazy on costs which no thanks :)

Sorry, a little late to respond here. You've had some good advice above as well.

When I stayed standard RPC, my request was "4th floor, close to the lounge." My room was the red dot in the pic below. Third door from the lounge overlooking the Courtyard Pool. It was wonderful, perhaps my favorite non-TPV room location I've had in my travels. Just a few steps to the lounge.... close to the "secret elevator" further down the hall that goes down to the first floor/Gaspy's/pool access. No complaints at all.

There's a bank of standard view rooms in a row on that hall where my room was, and also some on the other side of the main lobby atrium that face towards the feature pool/beach/Villa building/Poly.

Yeah, not bad for a "standard" view room! You could faintly hear music from here but it was pretty low.

I can think of worse ways to start a day....

LOL It's still me - with a new signature! I haven't been on the CL boards in a couple weeks and I'm already erased from the 1st page, so I thought I'd pop my head in!

YES, we bought DVC!!!! I will truly miss CL, but we'd like to possibly start taking 2 trips a year, and it just seems like a great option for us! My husband has been talking about it for over a month now. The only reason why I was holding back was because of club level! While I will miss it, I'd rather have more trips a year.

So we're definitely going to enjoy every minute of our YC CL stay in November and then ride off into the DVC sunset after that!!! LOL :drive::sunny:

I can't help with YC CL as we've never stayed there, but wanted to say I hope you have a great time :wizard:.

YES, we bought DVC!!!!

Congrats on your DVC purchase! :goodvibes

By the way - I never heard of DVC being called 'the dark side!' - I thought that only applied to Universal??!!!!! :joker:

Me neither....I've always seen it referenced to Universal too :-)

Welcome Home! DVC was the best purchase we ever made! (members since 2006) We still get CL stays in now and then -- even do split stays, part on points and part at a CL! ;)

Does this mean I'm officially out of the cool kids club?!!! :smokin:

Ha! Of course not. Just me making a bad joke. I'm really just jealous... if I had jumped ship to DVC early on I could have saved a bunch of money compared to what I've ended up spending on CL trips!

We strongly considered it a few years ago when we realized we were enjoying WDW so much but just couldn't quite decide if it was right for us and our style of trips. We were also worried then (and still now) about us growing out of Disney as the kids get older with busier schedules. Although the opposite seems to have happened.... we've been going more than ever! :-)

BTW, what a great home resort for you, nice choice!! Love all the room size options! :cloud9:

Thanks so much! LOL I told my DH I might have to sneak a CL trip in now & then!! I got SO used to it, not sure how it will be without it, but i'm sure i'll be ok!

LOL I know you're joking - but I was starting to think I might need to change my screen name to Regina George!!! LOL I was getting a "You can't sit with us!!!" vibe for a moment there!!!!!! :rotfl2:

I hear you about worrying about the kids growing out of Disney and I truly hope that never happens. We'd love nothing more than to give them the DVC some day and they eventually take their own families!!! We truly hope we started a great tradition with them! (My DD went for the first time at 2 (she's 9 now) and DS went for the first time when he was still in my belly!! and we haven't looked back! (he's 6 now!) There's nothing that could replace Disney trips for us! If you ever change your mind, you could always sell it if they don't want it!!!

And thanks! We've stayed WL CL 3 times and just absolutely fell in love with the Lodge the very first time we walked in (and saw the tree for the first time!!!!) The ONLY reason why we didn't go the past 2 years is because of construction! So we haven't been back since, so we're really excited to stop by and see all the new stuff in November!

Reconsider the "DVC Dark Side!!!" It might be worth it!!!!! :goodvibes

Welcome home!! We love our DVC also and have used our points at Aulani and Hilton Head for some of our trips as well as WDW. So when that happens we end up "squeezing" in CL trip or two to get our fix! We just can't stay away:cool1:
