Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Good question. I was in a 1BR suite. I ‘thought’ the two King Bed rooms (Room 4911 and 4912) were the smaller/no day bed rooms but I might have that wrong. I don’t have direct experience with either the King or 2 Queen rooms on the Tower Club floor, although I have read similar observations to what you note (no daybed, smaller bathroom) but need to search around to refresh my memory as to which room type those comments apply to.

There is good CR Tower Club info out there, but it’s burried deep on threads and hard to find! :-)

You mention the Atrium Club TPV room is $850 per night, which is the rack rate. Have you called to check if a military discount is available for then?

If a military discount isn’t available, I would be willing to bet there will be a general public discount available when those come out later in 2018. 7/4 isn’t as crowded as people think and discounts are ‘usually’ decent with enough availability to make something work. I stayed Poly CL for 7/4 this year and had a good GP discount, which I later switched to an AP discount. It was one of the cheapest per night rates of any night I’ve stayed this year, actually it might be the cheapest. I would generally expect something similar for CR. Obviously discounts are never guranteed and supplies are limited, but my gut says you should be able to do better than rack rate for that time period/room type.

So back to Tower Club. FYI, the lounge is on the TPV side and has two extremely large balconies. They are the same size as the balconies on all of the rooms on 14 and are MUCH bigger than the rest of the building. If you have a Bay Lake view room, watching from the lounge balconies is sort of the “next best thing.” In many ways, I actually prefer the Bay Lake view from my room, then can go to the lounge to get my TPV fix when needed.

I’ll try to do some searching later today to see if I can find more info on that room type, or maybe someone with good experience will come along and chime in.

Hope that helps.

The military discounts for next year are EXTREMELY limited. We are planning split stay CR/BC and the only Club Level rooms available at CR is the Tower Club-Standard View. I have asked my agent to confirm that there are no daybeds, because she said the description she has says there ARE daybeds in the 2Q rooms, but the photos online say otherwise. She is going to call Disney and try to find out for sure, and she will also check rates for tower MK view rooms (non club) to see if there is a military discount.

If we can't resolve the CR issue, we have a hold for all our dates at the BC in a Deluxe Room-Club Level which we will likely defer to because we really need that third bed.

Were you in a regular room or a suite? I am asking because I saw some pictures of the 2 queen room in the Tower Club and the room looked really small, didn't have the daybed (which we NEED) and only had one sink in the bathroom. What's up with that?

I asked my agent to see if there are any non club level MK view tower rooms available, because for the price difference, we can make our own club level and I really want the MK view for the fireworks. Our kids have autism and one can't handle being in park for fireworks, so we like to view them from our room, and the 4th of July fireworks look AMAZING! I would rather have a larger room with the bigger bathroom and guaranteed daybed than a smaller club level room.

Unless I'm way off base and the pictures I saw were of some other room type...
I can't help with the room size, but that is a great rate for a tower club room. When my family member called for military discounts, the only thing they were offered was a king room; there were no other options on that floor, and Atrium Club was not an option. (this was not for July, but Nov)

Supposedly the lounge on that floor is very quiet so your kids might be ok for fireworks viewing, and they can see the electrical water parade from a bay view room if that is what you end up getting.

I think you should consider that the everyday convenience of breakfast, daytime snacks, and evening wine might beat out bedroom fireworks viewing.

The "kids" are older now...will be almost 14 and 12. We come from the West Coast, so they stay on WC time and that means sleeping in until 10 or later, and late nights in the parks. I'm honestly not sure we will even make breakfast most days, and will likely not be at the resort every night for the 8-10 dessert/drinks hour either. The snacks don't hold much value, honestly, and the beer selection looks kind of terrible from my husband's point of view (he's a beer snob...neither of us really drinks much wine).

We could just as easily run down to Contempo cafe for some breakfast pastries to bring back to the room and stock up on the kind of beer and snacks we like before we arrive at the resort (we will have a rental car). So, I'm really debating. For us, the room is the most important thing because we spend a LOT of time in our room. We only do parks for maybe 3-4 hours each night (the heat is too much for our kids with sensory issues). Having a smaller bathroom will kind of stink too, especially since it has a clear glass door...kind of kills privacy and makes the bathroom only suitable for one person to be in there at a time, as compared to the regular rooms that have a shower curtain and separate toilet area. Although having the lounge is basically an extension of our room too, so that has to be considered.

I did a few nights last summer alone with my kids at the GF in a regular room. I often ran down to the quick service to grab some croissants and danish right before they switched over to the lunch service, while my kids were asleep in the room. We were eating breakfast around 11, lunch at 3 or 4 and dinner around 9pm. Worked out great and I really didn't miss the club level, but my husband kind of is adamant that he wants club level for this vacation...

Are you trying BWI CL next year??? Excellent choice!
WE ARE WE ARE!!!

I'd originally thought we'd do a split stay with POR (for old time's sake) and AKL CL. BUT, after finding out the AKL lounge is on another floor and can be chaotic with the food, AND taking travel time into consideration, I'm 95% convinced we're going to split with BWI instead. We LOVE that area, and as much as we've thoroughly enjoyed our two stays at YC, we wanted to do something different. BWI seems to get pretty consistent raves here, and I trust the judgment of THIS bunch!!! :thumbsup2

Anyone staying at YC soon? I’d love to hear if there are any updates with turn down and if any new items in the lounge itself.

I’m still not on Page 1. :guilty:

Dumb non-CL question but I’m hoping someone can help me out since you all know your stuff. I have a reservation that covers two AP resort room only discount offer windows. Online I can’t get an AP discount for the nights that fall in the second window, will only let me book rack rate. I could book two seperate reservations and get the AP discount for each. FWIW, the AP discount is 20% for the first few days and 15% for the last few.

Is this one of those kinds of things I can call and work with guests services to get the AP discount for each night but under one reservation?

Thanks!!

Just booked a split stay for June at BC Club L and Contemporary CL...we are so excited!!!! Now to read more reviews!

Sounds like an awesome split....the best of both worlds! Have fun planning :wizard:.

I'm super excited now, we were originally going to stay Poly CL, but Wilderness Lodge made more sense for our family. (We prefer being in the main building, wanted to try for bunk beds, wanted to visit Fort Wilderness).

The only thing I was wary about is the amazing things I've heard about the Poly Club Level, but now it looks like the Wilderness Lodge has a good lounge too. Thank you so much to those who posted about it, now I feel much better about my decision.

You won't regret it! Hope you have a great trip :goodvibes.

I agree. BWI CL is one of the very few that gets pretty consistent positive reviews :).

I don't know if guest services can make 1 reservation under 2 different discounts, but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask. Worst case scenario, you end up making 2 separate reservations to get the discount for all nights ;).

I thought they had a smaller TV for the kiddos, is it gone :( that stinks. Glad you had a great stay, and that Epcot side... <3 LOVE

I forgot the did have the kiddo tv, but nothing for the adults like the other lounges.

I never found the lounge quiet/relaxing, either. Those CMs must have been going crazy trying to keep up with clearing the tables. I wish there was still a place for guests to put their dishes when they were done instead of leaving everything for the CMs to pick up :(.

I agree I was looking for a bin or a tray to put the dishes on but of course nothing.

Ugh I want to say no. However if you call and say continuing reservation and give both #'s you shouldn't have to move but will need to re checkin for 2nd ressie.

I agree with you. Wl seems like a better fit for this trip. Enjoy kids with bunk beds while you can. They will be adults when you turn around.

Also I have stayed at poly many times yet I have a wl trip booked for Jan because it is a nice resort !

SO DIsney confirmed that the Tower Club 2 Queen rooms at the Contemporary do NOT have daybeds. UGH!

Okay, so what do I do? There are Atrium Club Bay Lake View rooms available with the military discount, but the grand total for 4 nights is only $20 less than the Tower Club room, where we have a 66% chance of getting MK view.

But the Atrium Club level rooms are the "standard" CR room layout...rooms with daybed, bathroom with two sinks and tub with shower curtain for more privacy...

What to do?

Is the food the same in both Tower and Atrium Clubs?

There’s a frequent poster on this thread whose name is escaping me that has a lot of experience with the standard rooms up there. I’m hoping she (I think it’s a she) pops up soon. Just curious to hear her feedback.

For me, I’d do Tower over Atrium any day and just “deal” with any inferiorities in the room if you can. I know that’s easier said than done when beds/sleeping arrangements are involved.

In my experience 2 different discount rates means 2 reservations. Even with Guest Services help.

I hope this person chimes in too!

I just read a pretty scathing review of Tower Club Level...I think the poster was WDWKOOK and he (she?) hated it so much they switched to a non CL room...that's pretty bad.

I am leaning towards the Atrium Club Bay Lake View Room now. I like knowing what I'm getting and I've stayed in the tower rooms before and like the layout of the "typical" rooms.

Ahh, yes, she runs the CR thread, along with several others. She stayed Tower Club last year if I’m not mistaken and didn’t enjoy her experience. I remember reading all about it. I don’t want to speak for her but I think most of her problems stemmed from an extremely large group (s) that were staying there that had pretty much taken over the floor/lounge and was quite noisy. Needless to say Tower wasn’t doing it for her, so she ended up moving. I’m sure she’d be happy to elaborate.

It’s hard with so few people staying up there and limited quality reports here on DIS - limited info/opinions to piece together any sort of conclusion. When you do see reviews of Tower most of them are positive, but no where is perfect of course.

I’m a huge fan of Atrium Club too, FWIW, it’s one of our favs. Our Tower Club stay was a one time splurge that we probably wouldn’t do again because of $.

Good luck deciding and planning!

Personally I love the Bay Lake view which is why we went to CL atrium level bay lake room when I booked this morning. The cast member offered a MK view for a small amount more but I'd prefer to watch the electric water parade :)
