Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Just a little report from our GF Sugarloaf stay last week. We were escorted to the lounge by a really nice cheerful CM and from there we enjoyed a nice breakfast complete with fresh Mickey Waffles. They had those on 3 different stays on our stay. Also they mimosas, which you have to ask for. The food was plentiful and loved having bottled waters to take to the parks. The CM were extremely friendly, however the lounge is very small and crowded. It was not as nice for hanging out as the YC or BC. They did not have a tv in lounge or a restroom for the lounge so that was two negatives. Turndown service was nice and we always had fresh towels. Our stay was very magical we enjoyed our room and the resort, however our next trip we will be back to our beloved YC, as the location is just better for our family.

Glad you enjoyed the GF. Thanks for your review of SL. I feel the same way about the lounge. I enjoy spending down time in the lounge and I just didn't find the SL lounge relaxing. I also found it very small and most times, very chaotic.

The poor CMs could not keep up cleaning tables and the lounge was never quiet and relaxing with all the guest in there.

Here's a question: If you are staying at GF SL CL, can you also use the main building CL lounge?

No, you are only allowed to use the lounge that goes with your room type. At least that is what we are told. When we stayed RPC this summer we were able to get into the SL lounge and look around. We didn't take anything, but were curious to see what the vibe was like since our previous stays in SL were a long time ago and we didn't remember the lounge feeling crowded or noisy. (those two stays were waaaaaaay back in the Stone Age when CL stays at WDW were not as popular as they have been in the past few years :rotfl:)

No, you can't. Not that I didn't believe the fine folks on this thread, but I did try to scan my MB at the RPC elevator when we stayed SL back in April. Didn't work. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

In a similar fashion... every time I've stayed CR Atrium Club, at least once a trip I'll hit 14 after scanning my band hoping it magically lights up. That hasn't worked yet either. :rotfl:

Thanks for checking in! That was our reaction to the SL lounge as well. We enjoyed our overall stay, just utilized the lounge a bit differently than other CLs.

Mind if I ask about your room location/floor/view? Just curious how that worked out for you.

Ha! I will caveat that my DW is not necessarily a Bloody Mary connoisseur, but she didn’t have good things to say about it when she was there this past Feb. Said it wasn’t a good mix and lacked flavor (or maybe alcohol?).

I’d still drink it though. :drinking1

Haha! Well I'm not a bloody Mary expert by any means but at least the morning I had them, I thought they were VERY spicey, like my tongue and lips were burning spicey. So I guess they fixed the flavor thing but I couldn't tell that they had any alcohol in them.

Well I can't blame you for trying! We've done the same thing in switching from CL to a non-cl room (just to see), a couple of times the 6th floor has lit up at AKL. It sure was tempting to not just go on up, of course we didn't though. I just want to make that clear before getting attacked.

I was hoping to stay WL CL mid April, but there is no availability. I have been checking for several weeks now. So I decided just to see when CL would be available and just started entering dates. Basically from April 6 to June 2 there is no availability. Just standard, 2 adults 2 kids, 5 night stays. Doesnt that seem odd that a two month block would be unavailable during an off-peak time? Then I did the same thing for March (peak time) and there is availability all month, including Easter. Talking standard club level not the deluxe room with CL access. Just seems odd.

I guess it could be possible that with the DVC work done/winding down, they may transition to some room upgrades on the resort side. Certainly nothing has been announced so total speculation. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like it's been awhile since the rooms have been touched in any sort of substantial way? Not that they necessarily need renovation, but maybe Disney has something in mind. That's really the only reason I can think of for an extended time period they may have rooms blocked for booking.

Either that, or we're seeing the impact of having just +/- 24 CL rooms. Very full bookings!

BTW, sometimes if Disney's website is showing things that seem off to me, I switch computers or browsers and get different results! Especially if I've been searching/poking around for awhile.

FYI for those with upcoming trips that aren't closely following the Minnie Van service updates, they announced a few days ago that they are now be serving Poly. For now, the following resorts are being served:
  • Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Boardwalk Resort
  • Grand Floridian
  • Polynesian
  • Wilderness Lodge
  • Yacht and Beach Club
Looking forward to trying these on a future trip!

I never found the lounge quiet/relaxing, either. Those CMs must have been going crazy trying to keep up with clearing the tables. I wish there was still a place for guests to put their dishes when they were done instead of leaving everything for the CMs to pick up :(.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did check in with my agent at Dreams to see if she could talk to Disney directly yesterday. She said basically as far as they know it is booked. I am still skeptical. I completely understand the limited rooms but then Feb vacation should be booked and March Spring break should be booked. What really makes me skeptical is that May is booked. Could be that they want people to book other more expensive CL first, knowing that they can book this with the limited rooms. Or like you said a renovation is planned (May would make sense for that to happen). All of you know better how long it has been since those rooms have been renovated. Anyway I will keep checking each day, I think something will open up if it is not reno related.

I'm super excited now, we were originally going to stay Poly CL, but Wilderness Lodge made more sense for our family. (We prefer being in the main building, wanted to try for bunk beds, wanted to visit Fort Wilderness).

The only thing I was wary about is the amazing things I've heard about the Poly Club Level, but now it looks like the Wilderness Lodge has a good lounge too. Thank you so much to those who posted about it, now I feel much better about my decision.

What is the difference between Tower Club and Atrium Club at the Contemporary? Which is better?

I wanted a room at CR over 4th of July. I really want an MK view room in the tower and we definitely wanted CL. I can get Tower Club level, but without a guaranteed Theme Park view. With military discount, the price with tax per night is $597.43.

I can book the Atrium Club MK view room online, but it would be at full price, which is like over $850 per night...

Should I book the CR and request MK view? What are the chances of getting it?

I will chime in with a better answer when I have the time to write, but I would BOOK THAT ROOM! That is an AWESOME rate for Tower Club, regardless of view.

ETA, Tower Club is one of the more amazing experiences we’ve had in our CL travels. I hate to be so gushy over it, but we just really enjoyed it there. Again, will come back later today and write a better description.

Also, here is a link from my trip in April that may be helpful: CR Tower Club - April 2017

Were you in a regular room or a suite? I am asking because I saw some pictures of the 2 queen room in the Tower Club and the room looked really small, didn't have the daybed (which we NEED) and only had one sink in the bathroom. What's up with that?

I asked my agent to see if there are any non club level MK view tower rooms available, because for the price difference, we can make our own club level and I really want the MK view for the fireworks. Our kids have autism and one can't handle being in park for fireworks, so we like to view them from our room, and the 4th of July fireworks look AMAZING! I would rather have a larger room with the bigger bathroom and guaranteed daybed than a smaller club level room.

Unless I'm way off base and the pictures I saw were of some other room type...

Are you trying BWI CL next year??? Excellent choice!

I thought they had a smaller TV for the kiddos, is it gone :( that stinks. Glad you had a great stay, and that Epcot side... <3 LOVE

Good question. I was in a 1BR suite. I ‘thought’ the two King Bed rooms (Room 4911 and 4912) were the smaller/no day bed rooms but I might have that wrong. I don’t have direct experience with either the King or 2 Queen rooms on the Tower Club floor, although I have read similar observations to what you note (no daybed, smaller bathroom) but need to search around to refresh my memory as to which room type those comments apply to.

There is good CR Tower Club info out there, but it’s burried deep on threads and hard to find! :-)

You mention the Atrium Club TPV room is $850 per night, which is the rack rate. Have you called to check if a military discount is available for then?

If a military discount isn’t available, I would be willing to bet there will be a general public discount available when those come out later in 2018. 7/4 isn’t as crowded as people think and discounts are ‘usually’ decent with enough availability to make something work. I stayed Poly CL for 7/4 this year and had a good GP discount, which I later switched to an AP discount. It was one of the cheapest per night rates of any night I’ve stayed this year, actually it might be the cheapest. I would generally expect something similar for CR. Obviously discounts are never guranteed and supplies are limited, but my gut says you should be able to do better than rack rate for that time period/room type.

So back to Tower Club. FYI, the lounge is on the TPV side and has two extremely large balconies. They are the same size as the balconies on all of the rooms on 14 and are MUCH bigger than the rest of the building. If you have a Bay Lake view room, watching from the lounge balconies is sort of the “next best thing.” In many ways, I actually prefer the Bay Lake view from my room, then can go to the lounge to get my TPV fix when needed.

I’ll try to do some searching later today to see if I can find more info on that room type, or maybe someone with good experience will come along and chime in.

Hope that helps.
