I love credit cards so much!

In other news, I got the fraud alert removed from my Marriott card. They told me it was because of adding the AU... apparently that's okay on CFU but suspicious on Marriott, since I added them about two minutes apart... :confused3

Oh well, $1500 to go there by Dec 4th, and I'm at $2850 on SPG Biz at just under a month.

Just to clarify, I have the CSP and Freedom- I can transfer UR points from one card to another correct? Have a large bill I would like to put on the Freedom, but want to make sure I can transfer those points to my CSP eventually. Or does it all automatically go into one pot since I'm the cardholder?

Well....got instant approval on the CSR, yay :D but a 30 day notice on CSP :( I did the CSR on my phone (chrome browser) and CSP on the computer (IE). Any insight on what this means or how it might go? You're not supposed to be able to get both Sapphire cards right? So does that mean it's a no-go for sure I wonder...

You need to call recon today if you have any hope of getting the CSP approved: 1-888-270-2127. Could be something as simple as verifying identity/information. I wouldn’t mention also applying and being approved for the CSR, since that’s technically against the rules now, unless they mention it first.

Good luck!

Chase doesn’t automatically pool points across your cards into one account. But yes, you can transfer the points between your various UR cards.

Definitely not supposed to get both but many people have been able to. I agree with @Lain. Don't mention that you applied for the CSR also.

Whew, I called. It was in fact a credit limit issue (I had been worried about that), they re-allocated the limits on my chase cards and approved. Put a rush on the card and should receive it soon. Thank you so much for telling me to call right away, I would have never known to do that. I really appreciate all the guidance here! :thanks:

I'm guessing I won't like the answer to my question but I'll ask anyway :) My friend and I are going to Paris is May. I'm in Seattle, she lives near Dulles. We want to meet up in the US to be able to make the long flight over and back together. Just doing preliminary searches and I get a lot of non stops or west coast/midwest connections from Seattle.

Two questions, with the second dependent on the first answer. Is there anywhere that you can enter two different origin locations with the same destination to find flights that will hook up? If not, we'll have a lot of hunting to do. Or it'll be easier for me to fly to Dulles or an east coast airport and start from there. Though I hate to not have my flights to/from Seattle hooked up with the flight to Paris in case anything happens and to avoid check in/luggage issues.

She does have the CSR so she may go through the portal, not sure since I can't ask for time off yet, ugh...

Yay! So happy for you! Are you thinking you will try to do the same for your dh? He doesn't have either the CSR or the CSP yet, right?

i dont quite understand what your asking... are you trying to find a stopover that both meet in the middle or something? I think the big problem with doing this is that if something does happen, you can be re-routed to another destination as they got you to your destination.
wouldnt it be easier just to fly to Dulles, meet with her there, fly to Paris from Dulles? or another city?

as for your check in baggage issue, stick with 1 alliance should work i believe.

Thanks! Yes, we will do his eventually. Still waiting on his CIP to come in, so we'll be busy with these spends until after the first of the year. After his CIP and these 2 new cards of mine, I should be sitting on over 300k UR points. Now, I have no idea what I'll do with them, haha. I'm trying to get DH and our inlaws on board for a Hawaii trip Summer of 2019. We shall see...:rolleyes1

I would suggest checking multiple airlines to see if any offer a route from SEA with an IAD connection on the way to CDG or ORY. IAD is a hub for United so I would guess there would be flights from SEA that connect in IAD. If you give yourself sufficient time to connect you should be able to avoid issues with checked bags making it on the flight. If you find award flights with a good redemption in business or first on UA then you'd get priority tags on your bags and they are less likely to get lost. I was able to fly in first for a Paris trip on United for 50,000 miles each way. I transferred 50,000 UR points to United when I saw the award flight and booked it. I checked pricing for flights in economy and they were a few thousand dollars so that would have cost more UR points to pay for in the portal than transferring to UA and flying in first class. I'd advise checking to see if you are better off with a points transfer to miles if there is an award ticket for your dates and routing or if you're better off paying with points through the UR portal. Hope this helps.

Has anyone ever tried to upgrade one Bank of America credit card to another? I have a very old (first card I ever got) Bank of America Rewards card. I rarely use it anymore (maybe one time a month) since I prefer my Chase cards now. However, I was wondering if I upgraded it to the Cash Rewards card or the Premium card, would that:

1) Effectively close my Rewards card, thereby potentially dinging my credit as it's my longest open card, and
2) Count against me for 5/24 if I just upgrade the card?

I don't even know of BoA will let you upgrade like that, or if that's all a new application or what. TIA!

Thanks! I did see the one flight that went through IAD. I'm taking care of the DLP part and the Paris hotel and she's doing the flights. I also know she's got other travel stuff she's doing next year so I don't know if she's paying for the flights or using points but I'll mention the above when we can finally book. I don't imagine there would be much for miles at that point though since we're only about 6 months out at this point. I thought there would be more flights that connect at JFK or even CLT than there were. Well they were probably there if I had gone up in price more.

FYI for @calypso726 and everyone else in the Miami area, the Museum of Ice Cream is coming to Miami in December with preview tickets available today, 11/14 at 11 am ET; Amex Platinum presale on 11/15 at 11 am ET; all Amex cardholders presale on 11/16 at 11 am ET; and general public presale on 11/17 at 11 am ET. https://www.museumoficecream.com/miami/

As some of you may remember, I got in on the Amex Platinum presale when MoIC announced they were coming to San Francisco and took my family back in September. We all loved it! If you love ice cream, brightly colored, sprinkled and whimsical art installations, have kids or just like feeling like a kid again, taking and sharing pics of it all on social media, this is a really fun event to do on the weekend. Tickets are a bit pricey at $38, and the experience can feel a little rushed at times, but this is one of those Instagram phenomenons going absolutely viral right now and you’ll probably end up hearing about it from someone you know and wondering if you should have gone too.

Tickets go FAST! I think the Amex Platinum presale sold out in about an hour, maybe with a few less desirable days and times still available, and the general presale went even faster. If you’re interested, you need to be at a computer and on the MoIC ticket site right before 11 am ET, be ready with your Platinum or other Amex card (you’ll need the phone number from the back of the card), and just keep refreshing until available dates populate the calendar, then pick your time and book it fast! Good luck and have fun!

Question for anyone who may have gotten the google express offer for use with the AMEX card, where they will give you a $20 credit when you spend at least $50. Just wondering if this would apply to gift cards. Shopping is allowed through many stores like Target, Walmart, Walgreens so many to choose from...
