60-Day FP Booking Window for Disney Springs Area Hotels; UPDATE: No Packages Needed!

How will Disney know I'm staying at one of these resorts if I don't book through them? I am actually staying at one for a gymnastics comp presidents day weekend but it was booked through a 3rd party.

It doesn't say you need a package for EMH. But for 60-day FP, it says, "Guests at these Official WALT DISNEY WORLD hotels, who have booked a package reservation for the hotel through a Walt Disney Travel Company package"...

Not withstanding the redundancy, is this not correct?

Interesting that Shades of Green guests just got 60-day FP as well...

I see that now, too. Its confusing me, to be honest. If we can't figure it out, the guest who hasn't ever been to Disney before is not going to be able to understand it, either.

The announcement is very poorly worded. It states it’s the same benefits as Swan/Dolphin and S/D Guests who book room-only with separately linked tickets have 60-day windows.

They left off pertinent info with their separately linked tickets because all “packages” have tickets included. Whoever wrote this announcement has probably never experienced a 60-day Booking Window. ;)

The FP system will recognize the combination of the resort reservation confirmation number and valid tickets. This is how it works for Swan, Dolphin, and SoG.

You may have to call the hotel to get the confirmation number that is linked to Disney’s system.

So I know this is going to start a debate but what's the benefit of staying on property now? Magical express? Slightly better transportation? I won't be staying elsewhere as POFQ is my second home but I can see others moving to offsite.

I hope it does move more people off-site! Too much trouble lately getting a room on-site. :)

even though my family should have APs by then, which of course only gets you a 30 day window

This is NOT true. With an AP and ON property reservations, you not only get the sixty day window, but you can get FP for as many days as you have ON property reservations. I had a room at Pop Century 9/30-10/6 AND 11/7-11/17. I got the sixty day window for FP for each stay, and at one point had FP booked on FIFTEEN separate days. The limitations on booking FP for AP holders are for when there are NOT on property rooms reserved.

This is likely going to make EMH even busier. How nice that it hits just 2 weeks before my trip.

My thoughts exactly. We’ve always avoided EMH under the “EMH days get too crowded after regular park opening” theory. For our upcoming trip we’ve decided to give it a try, especially for FOP at AK. I’ll be watching these threads to see how the EMH crowd factor is impacted.

If that’s true then it will likely make the non-EMH parks less busy.

See! There’s always something to smile about! :)
I’m not that upset. It won’t change our plans. I think we were only hitting one EMH anyway. I have big plans for that one though!

Hopefully the impact is minimal for your EMH day.

Because most guests probably already have their touring plans set for January trips I feel like the impact will not be immediate. If anything, I think the increased EMH attendance will slowly increase over the next few months.

I'm sort of laughing at the idea that all the DISboarders are complaining that EMH will be too crowded now, since for years I've just been seeing people say "we never go to the EMH park anyway because it's too crowded". So if you don't go tot he EMH park anyway, you should be happy that more people will potentially be there while you are at the non EMH park with the lower crowds.

Lots of people go to EMH and then hop to another park.

The ONLY thing onsite has now that these don't is transportation to the parks, and we all know how that's been going lately.....downhill fast!

Disney Springs has it's own bus system to the parks.

In my experience, it's always been one bus to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios and the other to the Transportation and Ticket Center (transfer to Magic Kingdom) and Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Here's the flyer given at check-in:

Wonder if it's more reliable (really every 30 min?) and how full the buses get. Of course, they could get much more crowded with these new offers.

I don't know since I always have a car and drive. But I will say every time I'm coming or going and walking to DS there are nonstop buses traveling the resorts and never long lines of folks waiting. I know last time DS stayed down there he also took one of those late Disney buses from a park to Disney Springs then just walked to hotel.

Disney Springs is the ONLY place I would stay without a car other than Disney hotels.

Yeah, but (for going to the MK) you still have to deal with being dropped off at the TTC from these resorts. Not the end of the world, but a bit of a pain none-the-less, compared to regular Disney Resort bus service.

For shades of Green, is it a 60 day FP window (so get up each day to make FP choices), OR IS IT 60+10 like at a WDW Resort?

It’s 60 + Length of Stay. If your Stay is longer than 14 days, there’s specific directives in the FP FAQ Addendum.
