Refreshing for FPs??

I read this thread last night and thought. Hmm.... pulled up MDE while chit chatting with DH before bed, and was able to get a FP for 2 for Na’Vi River Journey at 9:55am for Friday Nov 10.
This morning I refreshed for our other 3 family members for a bit, got bored and let it go. Sitting at work on my lunch break I opened it back up, refreshed and boom! 3 other FPs for NRJ at 4:25pm. Then I tried to move the other 2 from 9:55am to 4:25pm and it took! So there ya go, 5 FP for NRJ, 48 hours out. Yep. Refreshing definitely works.

The worst feeling is when the ride you are working to get finally pops up but your finger acts faster than your brain and you accidentally hit to refresh again and lose it. The night before and day of provide much more movement as people modify schedules. Start adding multiple devices to the search and you can refresh a lot quickly. Any ride can be found with enough searching.

Got the app to finally work on my phone. Yay! I signed out, signed in, uninstalled and reinstalled and now it works. Got a dummy KJ Safari for late tomorrow and was able to refresh it to about noon. I think I got this! Now to convince my husband that he will need to help me. LOL
12 more days!:tigger:

I am so happy I posted this. We have been here for the past couple of days and refreshing totally works. For example, Space kept showing "no times available" but I kept refreshing and then three times popped up. We even got a 7 dwarves to pop up at a perfect time. Crazy. Hubby got so into it. Ha ha.

So we're both you and DH signed into the same MDE account on two different phones at the same time? Or did you each try at different times?

Thanks to refreshing I was able to score SDMT & Frozen. I haven't been able to score the Pandora attractions; no one is giving those up

We had an Akershus lunch at 11:10 and the earliest we could book FEA that day was 5pm.

I left DS bottle in the stroller by accident and popped out of Akershus around 11:40 to get it. I was refreshing as I was walking and lo and behold - a noon FP showed up. Bingo! We were able to go on right after lunch (there was an hour wait) and then move on from Arendelle instead of having to come back at 5. So great.

It may have been because it was the week Irma hit and people were bailing on their plans, though. We cancelled 4 days of FP afer that :( But I’m happy to know people have good success with this during normal times too!

My sister and BIL got FoP day of as their 4th FP, second park! It is possible. It may have been because it was the Wednesday before Irma hit and people were heading home early. But it still happened!

It is absolutely possible... just takes a lot of persistence and a little bit of luck.

Just sitting around the room reading this and thought what the heck. Let me try it. It took about 5 minutes but I got a 4:15 FP for flights of passage for this afternoon. I was planning to go ride safari this evening. Wow!! I can't believe it worked.

Time to get dressed and go play!

I just came across this thread because we have a trip over Spring Break. We plan to park hop and I've already made my FP reservations at the second park we visit each day, but now this thread has got me wondering if I can pull this off and do FP in the first park and then use refresh for the second park. It would take some guts on my part to try it over Spring Break though! We're two adults so maybe that's to my advantage too.

The system appears to have a bias in the initial selection function that does not exist in the modify function. When initially selecting FPs, Disney shows you only what they want you to see, which lets them control movement, balance the load across the attractions, and keep one part of the park from becoming a bottleneck. The modify process however, seems to show everything that's available and allows you greater freedom of choice.

I figured out some time ago that it was easiest to book anything that shows up and then modify it to something I like better.

That’s how I approach our fastpasses at 60 d out. It’s very aggravating but I’ve learned to work with it.

If you have a specific ride you want and you see it pop up, no matter the time, take it. It’s way easier to refresh the time for that specific ride than refreshing for all the rides and having to scroll down everytime.

When we were at MK over Xmas and all of the rides were crazy busy, once we scanned in at the FP+ terminal, it was only ever a few refreshes until we had something lined up to ride immediately after getting off the ride. There is very little reason to stand in line for any ride there.

Thanks to this method, we never wait in line. I can't remember the last time we were in standby.

This is so true. People go on about how wonderful Express Pass is at Universal, but I’ve found that Fastpass is superior when it comes to not waiting in lines. My recent trip to Universal had me waiting in long Express Pass lines (30+ min). I’ve never encountered waits like that with Fastpass. Being able to use fastpasses one after the other makes for a seamless day at the parks.

When did you go? I’ve never had more than a 5 minute wait with express pass at universal. Almost everything for us was a walk on.
