What do you get when you rent one for half a day? Has the cabana area been changed any since they closed the pool?

This is the first time I have ever rented so I cannot give details. I know you get the covered cabana, fruit, beverages in a mini fridge, TV, fan and I think a phone? I just want a designated spot with shade so I don't have to fight a crowd so the other things weren't important to me.

Don't you just love that?! I called the car rental company two days ago - my kids were totally occupied with their tablets, so I thought it was a good time to call. Sure enough, about 3 minutes into the call, my son had pressing questions that needed to be answered at that very moment- the more I have him the 'one minute' sign, the more the questions rolled in. Really???

Honestly! I can understand my 10 year old to a point I guess but my 17 year old still does this! She'll knock on the bathroom door to demand my attention as well. I guess I should be glad she doesn't just open it anymore, unless I'm in the shower then she thinks opening it slowly is the polite thing to do.

Just got back from our amazing trip first time at GF! We had a room in Big Pine Key, which I did request. I did not like the room they first gave me, because it was a 5th floor room (which I requested 3rd or 4th floor because I knew from pics that they 5th floor rooms were smaller due to the peaks of the roofline). We had a crib so we couldn't afford to lose 3 or 4 feet in the room, let alone for 9 days! They kindly found us another room on the opposite side, but 4th floor, and upgraded us to the Lagoon view without charge. Stunning view of the POLY!!! Amazing and the room was indeed much bigger. WE absolutely loved our experience there (although we were a bit bored with Gasparilla Grill for some reason). We would definitely stay again. Thank you to everyone who answered all of my questions all along. We were very sad to leave when the time came. Our only other critique was we wished the sink area/dressing area had a door, maybe a pocket door for privacy and to keep our toddler out of the bathroom area. Other than that what an amazing place!

To see characters 1900 Fark Fare, for a standard breakfast Grand Floridian Cafe, on Sundays Narcoosees sometimes has a brunch.

Also where will you be staying? How do you plan to get there?

Big Pine Key is one of my favorite outer buildings as it's in such a convenient location. Glad you had a great time and enjoyed the GF .

Hi All!!

Getting closer until our next trip to the GF. Scheduled my FPasses last weekend and again no luck with FOP at Pandora. Hopefully if I keep checking it will work out or otherwise we'll see about getting there early in the AM. My 20 something year olds are not going to love that idea...lol!!!

My youngest recently turned 21, looking forward to going to Jellyrolls and maybe Trader Joe's. We've been to Jellyrolls during an adult only trip, has anyone ever gone to Trader Joe's is it worth it?




Hi HappyMomma - we tip at the end of our rental and definitely no less then $20 but some of the cast members there are amazing and will keep refilling the water bottles and drinks from the bar. They even get our lunch for us even with the meal plan. With that being said obviously we tip more.

I can't wait to hear how the new cabanas are. Please report back when you get home. Have a great trip!!

Trader Joe's at the Polynesian? We went there and it was cool, very neat decor. And they allow kids before 9 PM.

I called Disney back in January and was told SL is undergoing renovations until sometime in August. Looks like i will Be booking RCP for my July trip but I prefer SL in the summer months.

I had the cabana for a half day last summer and will do it again this summer.

Any idea what kind of renovations they are doing to Sugar Loaf? We're booked for November, should be fun!

We have a tradition of Sunday morning breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe. The room is pleasant, sunny and some tables have lovely views over the GF gardens. The menu is a combined breakfast/lunch offering. So, if you are in the mood for an omelette, fine. If you prefer a burger for breakfast, that's fine, too!

Do you still get luggage tags in the mail for magical express? We haven't been in six years but leave next weekend and haven't gotten anything. Do they no longer do this and link it another way now? Thanks!

They do still send them for every Magical Express Reservation made. You DID make your Magical Express Reservation, right? It's a separate thing you have to do.

Thank you, yes I did! I gave them all my flight info when I did my room reservation. I just thought maybe it was linked to magic bands now. I'm obviously out of the loop, this will be our first trip with magic bands. I'll call them later today.

One more question before I call, I had originally requested upper floor room. Are all 5th floor rooms dormer? If so I want to change my request to third or fourth floor room.

Definitely call them. Giving your flight information to the phone CM you booked your room with does not equal making your Magical Express reservation.

Weird, will call later. Out of curiosity was the cm supposed to transfer me to someone for magical express? She asked if I was riding magic express and I said yes and gave her flight info so thought I was good.

If its within a certain amount of time yes the reservation CM can take your flight info and add it to ME if its like a week out or so they will transfer you to ME

That about covers it. Fridge has soda assortment and waters, fruit is always delicious. There's a wireless speaker to play your music off of, a TV and Phone. I book it for the same reason, DD needs shade. I do have to say the quiet pool allows you to have a drink IN the pool and they bring it to you!

Hey there. We travel every year to WDW and sometimes a couple of visits if we're lucky and last time I forgot to add ME. It was an adult only trip , I had park tickets and wanted to try no meal plan. Needless to say I forgot....of course didn't notice until the night before. ME was great, I had to be transferred to them directly and assured me that it would all work out. MY DH made yellow tags to just make sure and we of course did get our bags. It took a little longer then usually, but I can't say for sure it was because of the tags. Good luck, no worries just make sure you have what you need right away with you.
