Pop Century Room Renovations

I did online check in for my May 29th trip. My reservation is a Preferred Pool View at Pop. My preferences included "60's room". I'm wondering why, since my reservation will automatically be in the 60's. I was afraid NOT to check it, but it feels like I just wasted one of my two preferences. Any thoughts?
Did you enter the 60’s or did it automatically assign 60’s to you and only offer you one option for a request?

Hi!
I am "new" to this thread and also "new" as far as staying at POP...
We have not finished our reservation yet (probably today) and we work with a TA
We got an offer at POP 7 nights (November 10-17) at a preferred view room.
Do you think we will get one of the new rooms?
I would guess most of the constructions will be done by November?

Thank you :)

There are still rooms with king beds. You can still request one. King bed rooms did not, do not, and will not include Murphy beds. They're not gone, they were never there.
I guess I meant “gone” from the design; I didn’t think they would install them and then remove them!! Lol!!!

In lieu of the murphy bed next to the stationary bed, Kings have the beverage center.

On the other side is the dresser, and a small table with two chairs.

Ahhh thank you!!!! I love this!

Based on the progress so far, by November it's anticipated that either Pop will be fully renovated or they will be working on the final rooms.

The latest I've heard is that the renovations are supposed to be completed over the summer. I have a split stay at all star movies/pop at the beginning of December. When I made the movies reservation I got an email that the resort will be under construction. I did not get a construction email for pop and based on their progress I would be surprised if the rooms aren't completed by then.

I can't imagine it won't all be finished by then. :thumbsup2

I had two preferences. With each one, I could chose one of these; 60's section, ground floor, high floor or close to elevators. I thought it was weird to give that as an option, since a Pref Pool View can only be in the 60's.
Edited to say - I chose 60's as my first preference and ground floor as my second preference.

Right. The options during Online Check In have not made sense for the past 4-5 years. At CBR, two of the options are "near elevator" and "high floor". The CBR buildings are only 2 floors and don't have elevators! It's one of the main reasons I phone in our requests.

LOL!

We are going in August, and I definitely would prefer a renovated room. My favorite movie is Lady and the Tramp, so I was thinking it would be cool to stay in the 50's section. Would it be best to upgrade to a preferred room then request 50's for a chance at being close to Lady and the Tramp and having a renovated room?

Well ... there are three sides of Bldg 1 that are Preferred and it likely will be the last rooms done. One section in Bldg 3 should be done. The odds are against you on a new room unless they speed up Bldg 1. You can look at the map on Post #2 to get an idea of the layout there.

Is there supposed to be coffee in the room? My mom has a coffeemaker but no coffee

There should be coffee in there. It's very possible they forgot to refill the supplies. You could just use the help button on the phone. We did that and were given towels and coffee refills while we were in the parks.

There is a narrow drawer in the coffee cabinet below the coffee maker. I would be surprised if there weren't any supplies at all, I'm guessing she may just not have found where they're stored. Others have had trouble finding them.

Just returned from Pop Century after 5 night visit. We were pleased with the renovated room, beds were comfortable and the ability to store suitcases under the bed is great (similar to set up on Disney Cruise Line). It appeared we were the first to stay in the room. Now the "spoiler alert", it appears Building 4 is done. When we arrived construction was still taking place, barricades in place etc., but during the week the barricades were down and rooms were being staged by housekeeping. So more rooms should be available shortly!
