2018 Free Dining Watch Thread V3

So this goes live 3am Eastern time?
Do they really go so quickly tat if you log in at 6am you miss out?

Depends on what you want. Last year I tried to book free dining 3 days later and all that was available was Club Level at the Grand Floridian---a little too much money for me. A few years ago my friend and I were both on at the same time---on the phone with each other. I got the resort we wanted and she did not. Plus at 6 or 7 am the website has a tendency to crash on free dining day. The phone lines also have a tendency to be busy, busy and busy with wait times up to an hour.

Anyone who is staying onsite can book a bounce back, so even if you are not the lead guest you can book BB. If you are not on the reservation and not physically onsite you will not be able to book a BB. You muct call while you are there to be eligible.

I booked the trip for her on my account, as she is in my Friends and Family list, and I am not currently on the reservation. If I don't end up going on the trip, I'm curious if she is able to do the same for me (i.e., call from her room while she is at Disney, and book the bounce back offer in my name, as we are on each other's accounts). I'm assuming the answer is no, but...

Well since Disney Ron says tomorrow I think I will go to work, come home, and go to bed until the wee hours of the AM. My dates are included and I can't see how my resort choice won't be. Since they changed the Mods to Quick Service I see no reason to stay at a Mod even though I am partial to French Q which is never included anyway. Now all I have to worry about is what time to set my alarm!!!!

This is torture!!! I'm booking a trip for my sister-in-law and hoping to get FD, and I WANT TO COME!

I'm so wrapped up in the excitement and can't WAIT for our next trip. We're saving our 10 day tickets for Star Wars, but of course I can't even plan it, because we don't know when it will open. I suspect I'll be on the hunt for RO discounts, as FD will likely be a thing of the past.

Question - I have booked my SIL's trip for December on my account - if she calls for the bounce back, I assume it will only be available for her to book. Or would it be possible for her to book the room for me?

I'm kind of sad. I really wanted to go in November but my dates aren't included. my secondary dates in December are included though but the November dates were definitely preferred.

Same for us! We were planning to go 11/16-21(supposedly not included in FD), but our 2nd choice and much less desired dates are 12/14-19 (included). Decisions, decisions!

Any adult currently on the reservation can book a bounceback room of their own...

Based on some of the chatter, I wouldn't be surprised if GP FD is at the end of the run, but I'm hoping that BB will still be an option.

How far in advance are the BB offers? The ones I've seen don't extend a full year into the future.

I am checking at midnight--then 1---2--3--3:30---4---etc. I really want to go to Disney. We were there in January but I need a vacation. Would like to go now but I think I can make it to December. LOL

The only other thing I can say at the moment is that values and moderates will get free quick service and deluxe will get the free regular DDP. I'm waiting for resort confirmation.

I will say that I'm 100% sure tomorrow is the drop day so get to bed early this evening. The dates I gave earlier this morning are for the general public release.

Hopefully I'll have more info later today.

I always booked BB a year ahead, alwsys bookmin September for the following September

Last time I read the bounce back brochure I think you could reserve up to 2 rooms. Since you can only be the lead on one reservation could she not put the other room in the posters name and then cancel her reservation at a later date? Or make it a family affair with both parties going on the bounce back...

Not from Maine, but going the same time already have plane tickets. Going with FD or not. We had FD last year but stayed at AKL. Pop for us this year

Do you mean before or after you grab FD promo? If you're talking about dropping a day AFTER you've secured FD, there could be a problem, but not always.

I haven’t quite made up my mind on whether where gonna do room only or the free dining it depends on what we can get. If we get the room only would there be any problems on dropping one day if I needed to ? Thanks for your help.

What time do you think it will drop? Have a big meeting at 8:00 AM CST so hoping can do real early before work. Also, when you "modify" an existing do you have to select the deal or will the deal be an option if it's available?

No..each adult in the room can book a BB but they have to actually be there in order to book it. You can't book for someone else who isn't there.
