Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Can anyone confirm it's all, or only some, of the rooms that have coffee makers? On Disney's website, it does not list coffee maker as an amenity at Pop, but I've read recent reviews in which rooms had them. Going for the Princess Half Marathon, and I know nothing is open at 3am when you're boarding buses

All rooms at Pop now have coffee makers. They were added during the refurbishment.

How can they just change my reservation?!?

Because the only thing your reservation guarantees you is a room on property. You're not guaranteed the room you booked.

Any advice on what I can do?

Not much. We've been downgraded 5 times now. We were never told this when checking in any of those times. I also had to go to the front desk argue for a refund once I realized what happened. So at least you know now and were already refunded.

Speaking of groceries, what do people do for their grocery needs while staying at Pop?

From what I’ve read, there are a variety of options. If renting a car, some people stop by a local grocery store. Others have food delivered (Amazon Prime seems to be popular). Since we fly in, we pack the basics, box of cereal for breakfast(disposable bowls and spoons, too) and a few snacks that won’t melt or get crushed such as granola bars, nuts, etc. We also pack a couple six packs of soda and beer along with frozen water bottles which we double bag in collapsible coolers to help keep them cold. I hate paying for one can of beer when I can get many more for the same price! (We fly Southwest so have the luxury of two free bags each). Then we pick up some fruit at Everything Pop and get milk in the refrigerated section in the gift shop.

We have used Garden Grocer. The fruit was fresh and everything was delivered on time. I have not tried Safeway or Amazon. Some people have said they are less expensive than GG.

Where do you recommend for standard rooms? I have never stayed at Pop and will be arriving in September. I am trying to plan where to request for my room.

Kinda depends on what you like. Higher floor, ground floor, near elevator, etc. Having said that, we really like 50's, 60's or 70's lake view.

I second this. It depends on what you want. If you want close to transportation I liked building 10.

I received an email saying that Safeway will no longer be delivering to my area (POP) after July 7th. I'm really disappointed, has anyone else heard about this?

Yes, there's been quite a few posts here on the DIS about it starting this morning.

Sorry I should have specified, We like the higher floors. I usually stay at Sports and love the Home run building. It's not too bad of a walk to transportation and really quiet even with the pool. We had a pool view one year and then the next time our view was the parking lot/AS Music. It was nice. Not too far away from everything, but far enough away to be quiet. We want an easy walk to the food court and transportation.

For standard view, building 10 and building 1 are very close to the food court and buses. If in building 10 you will be facing building 9. If in building 1 you will facing the parking lot. For a little farther of a walk, buildings 3, 4, 5, or 6 will have you facing the lake which is a very nice view and the walk is still not far by any stretch.
