Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Thank you for all the food pics! It all looks delish. Makes me want to try GF CL!!

RPC is amazing, definitely give it a try if you can ;).

So appreciate your posts! :flower1:
We will be there in 141 days. It will be our first RPC stay, and we can't wait!

Hope you have a great time! Looking forward to hearing about your stay when you return :goodvibes.

Trying to catch up. Got home from a YC- Poly split on Thursday but had a very busy weekend and didn't have time to keep up. GADisneyDad...YC is a secret...shhhhh! We had the same roof view and to the right could see some of the pool and lake through the trees, it was a sv room though. We were at the Poly for the 4th...we got to enjoy the special seating area for about a half hour before we had to get off the beach. We ended up watching the fireworks from inside since it was still raining lightly and they let everyone on the beach and it was very crowded. :crowded: All in all it was a great trip with Dis friends old and new.

Glad you had a great trip :).

I've never studied the types of tea in it but at BWI they have a big box of all types of tea. I know some are decaf but the decaf may all be herbal, not just regular decaf black tea

Yes, lots of tea choices at BWI CL! I'm not a tea drinker so I didn't really look at the tea closely, but I did notice the big box with what looked like quite a variety ;).

Sadly I think that was a mistake. The Wave was fine, but it left us underwhelmed as well. The food was quite tasty, but the service and condition of the restaurant were off for us.

The Wave served me a burger that was charred black on one side, and they made it the side facing down so I didn't know til I bit into it. Who does that? And it's a $20 burger. No. #ulostmewave

I have to say, I don’t know if the other CLs tried scaling back at that time or not. It could have been an AKL management decision or company-wide :confused3 It wasn’t a big deal to us and it didn’t last. :thumbsup2

Even RPC scaled back then...not acceptable with the rates they charge. I'm sure they had a ton of complaints.

I wish I knew about this YC secret last yr. As I've said a million times, I hated my BC stay. We originally had YC CL booked. Dh and the kids thought it was too serious looking
has anyone went to any of the Star Wars events they have? We're skipping disney this year. Planning on next August, most likely poly club. This past may. HS had a one night SW event over Memorial day. Debating going with just my kids (huge SW fans) this coming may. Dh always takes a golf week right after memorial day and thought this may be nice for me and the kids. However I work in a school and can't take off. How crazy would it be too fly friday night- Monday night. Then have work/school all week? We would be flying from Newark. Is the SW night worth it? Maybe then I could give YC CL a try. DH refuses to stay epcot area again.

I have gone down for quick weekend trips...not crazy at all...go for it. YC CL is second only to RPC for us...shhhh it's a secret don't tell anyone. :teeth: We usually do a YC-RPC split.

Hi mickeynut. :wave2: Thanks.

We did. It was ok. I'd never make a special trip down for one. It was nothing like Star Wars weekends or anything like that
They don't have them every Memorial Day though. It is been always around a movie release. This last one was for Solo. Last ones before that were for Last Jedi and Rouge One

It's funny reading all the love for the various CL. It is good to find them all so different though, so that there is always something that fits everyone. We are learning what fits us and what doesn't
DH and I did RPC for my birthday last year. I'm determined to try all the CL at some point so I picked GF for that one. We neither one cared for it at all. Food offerings were fine, no complaints. CM were fine and again, no complaints. No problems with other guests. Don't think I love the lounge layout, sort of really spread out strangely because of the placement. What we didn't care for the most was the formal/stuffy level was through the roof. We didn't feel like we fit in well at all. It was totally on us, not a way anyone made us feel by any means. I can't see us returning unless I find an exceptional deal and just really need a MK resort for some reason.

Does anyone use Touring Plans for room requests or do you go through DSS or both?. I have any of 4 rooms that I would like to request but not sure which is the best route to go. If you use touring plans how are in advance do you do it? I check into RPC the 28th.

I always use Touring Plans
You have no control over when they do it, they send it 5 days (or so) in advance
I fill out the request itself as soon as I book the trip

YC CL is second only to RPC for us...

Haven't stayed YC CL but after my first BWI CL stay last month, I don't know if BWI CL is a close second to RPC or if it's tied...lol. It's been quite awhile since my RPC stay and while food offerings have changed often, I do know I love the lounge :cloud9:. YC CL hasn't been on my list, but after seeing all of GADisneyDad's new lounge and food pics, I might just have to put it on the list of CLs to try ;).

Hi maxie .....you're welcome :goodvibes.

I have historically only done them through DSS via e-mail.

I have a loose understanding of the TP room request feature but have never personally used it.

I use Touring Plans every trip. I find I have better success getting the room location we want using their service than calling Disney (DSS or main reservations line) directly. I wouldn’t advise requesting specific rooms. The person who assigns rooms will have no way of knowing what it is about those rooms you like, and if they aren’t available, could place you anywhere (that might be you. Some people do want a particular room or two, and if it’s not available, they are fine with anything). If you aren’t okay with any room, though, I find a better strategy is to identify a general location (for whatever reason...view or close to the elevator or away from a smoking area or something else) and request that instead. I’ll pick a room using Touring Plans, and it will automatically fill out the room request area with rooms in that approximate location. If I feel I need to get more specific, I’ll add something in the comments box like “near the elevator”.

I’ve used Touring Plans, but for my next CL trip I think I’m going to try DSS. The thing with Touring Plans is that what they submit by default is a specific room number or range of rooms rather than the points that made you want that room. With DSS you can explain what you are actually looking for so they can give you good alternatives rather than just seeing what’s available along a line of rooms.

Wascit just a typical night at the park with just a few SW things? Maybe a weekend to do the evening MK extra hours would be better then. I just need to find a 3 day weekend where they have one. It sucks being tied to a school schedule. Plus yds is public school and ods is starting private hs next yr so our days off will be different :sad1:

It’s possible to configure the Touring Plans fax to be more specific. There’s a comments (or something along those lines) box directly below the pre-populated box with the room numbers. In fact, on occasion, I have just deleted the entire pre-populated fax with the string of room numbers to match what’s important to me.

Yes, more or less. The best part of it for me, was the Star Wars overlay in RnR. I mean, I love RnR theme as it is, love Aerosmith and their music but the Star Wars theme worked great. I think if I was coming down for a quick weekend a DAH night would be a better one. Plus, not sure when they'll do another Galatic Nights either. Next movie is a ways off.

I hear you about trying to work around school schedules. We finally dropped DGD's AP this year. She just can't come along on enough trips any more. Pretty much relegated to going at the end of the school year now. DH and I go for shorter trips but leave her at home.

The TP room request is exactly a range of room with the points of what made you want that room. If you look at it they use the exact terminology the room assigners know to describe the features in the feature room you based your selection on so the assigner knows what it is about that room that you liked and can find rooms that are similar.

No point in this post other than to just gripe for a second about NYE TPV availability at Poly or CR. >:(

I booked somewhat late last year and seem to remember having a lot more availability options than now. I’ve tried a variety of date combinations and keep coming up with blanks so far.

Anyway, hoping things open up a bit! :-)

one thing I noticed was discussion about the amount of food and whether it was a meal (dinner) or not.
There are many guests who use the Lounge offerings as appetizers before their ADRs at a WDW restaurant, and there are others of us who are quite satisfied to use the 5-7pm food service as dinner. I say, whatever works for you and your family! :)
This debate is as old as this thread, and probably older.
In our experience, the CL appetizer offerings are quite variable. Most of the time, they simply aren't the kind of food that would qualify as dinner. Sometimes we have ADR's, other times we just grab a QS meal or snack.

Sometimes the offerings were simply way too greasy to eat more than a sample. I recall one night the offerings were: kettle style potato chips, bacon wrapped scallops (bacon slightly undercooked), deep fried dumplings, cheese, raw carrots, raw broccoli, celery, very white crackers, and the bleh kind of ranch dressing. Those foods + spinning rides, just isn't my favorite combo.

Other times, especially at Universal's Royal Pacific, the offerings have been super! RP has a salad we love: Napa cabbage, mandarin oranges, tofu, ginger dressing little carrots, and they pair it with light jasmine rice and Asian-style orange chicken (light version, not deep fried). Plus, appealing veggies like perfectly cooked asparagus.

I tend to think most folks kind of even things out. Some folks drink a little more wine, some skip breakfast, or they alternate different days. Some offerings just don't appeal to us.

Often it is just too much to get back to the lounge for every offering, especially if the parks have something special that day. I also think it would be very hard to do the new FP program + appetizers + an ADR+ evening fireworks. Phew!

And overall, well, if the rooms cost over $500 a night, and goldfish crackers cost $1.88 per bag (retail), then what we're paying to stay CL covers a LOT of goldfish crackers and celery sticks. I'm confident WDW wouldn't offer CL if it didn't make money.

There is also a live singer performing at the piano. Is this new? Or maybe I have just never been in the main building at this time of day. I didn’t hear her singing yesterday.
