Disneyland getting rid of lids for adult drinks & staws on ask only basis.

Just read this and didn't see it posted. Who do we contact with comments about this? I understand wanting to reduce plastics, but, have a viable alternative in place. Reusable cups would be okay with refills $1. I can't see walking around Disneyland with a beverage without a lid and straw. Bugs, bubbles and God only knows what else that can get inside your drink, especially when it is crowded. Then, rude, pushy people in a hurry, I can see me wearing my drink, or worse, spilling it on an agitated person who is overdue a nap. Yikes.

Starbucks it’s gettinf it’s if straws and their new lids work just fine

1.00 refill at Disney? Ha ha that’s funny

You forgot snotty kid sneezes getting into your drink!

I'm helplessly uncoordinated, so my whole group will be getting lids. Hydration by dousing one's clothing is not a "must do" for our DLR trips!

I've already got my reusable straws--kids outgrew straw sippy cups, so I took the themed straws from those.

Not a fan of this. I understand wanting to reduce waste, I just don't know if this is the right way to go about it. Then no bags with purchase unless requested? How are they going to know if people paid for their stuff?

Ugh, I hate being a negative nelly! lol Guess we'll have to see how it goes when we visit in a month.

We were there today and there were still straws and lids at the four CS locations we visited (Plaza Inn, Bengal BBQ, Pizza Planet, and Rancho del Zocalo), . Also, was given a bag with purchase without askimg for it and saw PLENTY of people carrying bags.

Figment, thanks again! I just sent off a comment. I hope others do the same with a solution in the comment. There have been quite a few times if it wasn't for the lid on my drink, I would have been wearing it because a kid too busy not watching plowed right into me. I do hope they consider selling refillable mugs.

I live in a town with no plastic bags, no free bags, no straws, no plastic takeout containers, no plastic utensils, and god forbid foam containers. Everything must be compostable. I find it’s been no problem for everyone to adjust.

I think Disney guests will be just fine.

The no plastic bags thing isn’t just a Disney thing, it’s a California thing. All grocery stores, target, convenience stores, etc, follow this policy.

I think they give out too many plastic bags so I dont really have an issue with that besides we've been doing this for quite a few years now so, I'm pretty used to it. But I love my straws! I understand why but I don't have to like it. Those decorated straws are starting to look pretty good to me...lol

Given that I'm still using merchandise bags as garbage bags, with designs from "year(s) of a million dreams", yep, they gave out LOTS of bags over the years...

Yea cause that looney *** state Florida is much better

So true. :) But without the craziness of FL, where would Dave Barry and Carl Hiassen's writing careers be?

Ha Ha

Awesome! Hopefully byo reusable containers will be ok next time we go. Nothing I hate more than sitting down to enjoy a drink, prevent waste and use an actual cup only to be given plastic anyway.

Real question.....what is used for take out food? I'm talking about soups or dishes with sauces or gravy. No plastic utensils...so if you plan on getting lunch to eat in the park, you have to plan on bringing utensils with you?
