Disney Gift Card Deals

I left my Disney gift cards home and I’m in Orlando. Didn’t think my parents would really let me go to the parks by myself but I’m going tomorrow. What’s the best deal I can do right now that’ll save me money? Swagbucks?
Piggybacking off @iujen94 s comment... maybe you have someone you trust that could load some of your GC stash to the site and then you could get a small one and transfer the balance? Otherwise, how much are you looking for? Just a bit for park spending for a day? I'd probably say BB/SB for that, get $9.50 total back on $100....

If I purchased a target gift card would I not get 5% off? And then can I not add that to my target account and use it to buy the Disney gift cards for another 5% off since my target card would be attached to my profile?

Unfortunately no on all the above. You can only purchase a DGC with your Red Card to get 5% off.

Thank you all are so helpful. I forgot to add my new gift cards to the balance and it’s only a few $ left on my account. I wish I could go to BB but all are so far from our hotel and I don’t want to push my luck. We’re going to Target later so I’ll just do the 5%.

Ok, sort of new to this thread (was reading about a year ago) but have been trying to figure some of this out for weeks. Trying not to read all 1870 pages (read a dozen or so today). I apologize if this has been covered:

So it looks like I should be okay using a Sam's/Walmart gift card for purchasing Disney GC through Sam's. Does anyone know if that works online?

Moreover, does anyone know where, other than Walmart/Sam's, I can buy those GCs?

So here is what I'm currently trying to see if I can make happen somewhere: I'm trying to get the Disney GCs for the 4.6% discount through Sam's, but I'm trying to figure out if I can find a way to combine that with credit card rewards to increase the discount. Unfortunately, Amazon does not seem to sell any GCs for any stores that I know of that have the discounted Disney GCs (Sam's, Costco, BJ's) - I have the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa which gives me 5% cash back on Amazon purchases, but that's not helping me. Amazon also didn't have any Disney cards last I looked, so that doesn't work either for at least getting the 5%.

Right now, Discover's quarterly 5% is at grocery stores. If I can find a grocery store that sells Walmart, I figure I could purchase up to $1500 and get 5% back that I could just apply as a statement credit, then turn around and use that to take advantage of the 4.6% discount through Sam's online or one of the other options in-club (I think the $75 gift card is $72, which was the next best percentage, then $145 for $150). I just have had no luck with the first level so far.

I'm considering purchasing a Visa or MC GC - I was looking at the supermarket ones, and they have a $5.95 fee on the ones where you can choose the amount to load from $20 - $500, so the paying a 1.2% fee on a $500 card doesn't seem so bad if I'm getting 5% back from Discover.

Has anyone tried to go down this road? Any luck?

I use the DOSH app at Sam's to get 2%. Down load the DOSH and attach your best reward CC to it. So for me its 4.6% Sam's savings plus 2% DOSH plus my MC Arrival+ at 2X points.

The best way to use this is during grocery store promotions, Kroger 4x fuel so this depends on where you live and what grocery stores are around you. This info would be most useful for us to help you out. Since you're thinking of buying Visa GC's you may want to join Swagbucks.com. Are you a member?

DoC is a great resource, here's that link: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/

Also watch out for Holiday Specials, the next one should be St. Patrick's Day, March 17. I imagine most stores will have some type of gift card promo's.

I don’t think you’ll find Walmart gift cards at a grocery store, since they are basically in direct competition.

That's what I was thinking too. I think the best plan for @Anthony Vito is to sign up for Dosh and then buy at Sam's like @Cruising Engineer mentioned. It has been over a month since Dosh has had a good promo for Sam's...so maybe there will be one soon!

I am quoting myself but @Anthony Vito the best way is to buy Sam's gift cards in the store using a Dosh linked CC for the amount you need then take those to buy the $150 pack online for $142.98. In store prices for the $150 pack are a little higher.

I've never used Disney GCs to pay for our vacations at WDW however I became quite intrigued when was reading around about it. I have read a lot of the posts on this thread and there is so much info! I have a question and forgive me if it's been addressed previously. This is my first time to purchase GCs and I don't want to mess up by purchasing the wrong cards!

We were at our local Krogers tonight and I could only find blister packs of $45 Disney GCs and I'd have to purchase loads of them to pay off our trip. I rounded the corner and saw a special display in the aisle and it had a different kind of Disney GC that I'd never seen before. Some of them were for 3 or 4 day WDW tickets with odd amounts for their dollar values and then there was this one pictured below (sorry if they are huge).

I know I kind of sound totally clueless when I ask this but here goes.. we're all "virtial BFFs" right? We can laugh together!

Is this comparable to a regular Disney gift card? I'm hoping to just be able to purchase 6 to 8 of these using our Discover cards and be done with purchasing Disney GCs.

Does Dosh definitely (usually?) give cash back for just Sam’s gift card purchases? The fine print says gift card purchases are excluded.

This is just a loadable Disney Gift Card nothing special. Wait if you can until 3/1-3/3 with digital coupon for 4x fuel points.
Doesn't the 5% on Discover end this month. I think so. hmmmm

Thanks for responding!

And yes, Discover's 5% cashback on grocery stores ends at the end of March.

We never buy our gas at Krogers -- perhaps we should look into the fuel points there since the 4x is coming up! Thanks for the tip!

We have four vehicles, only three actually work but being the big man on campus I couldn't resist the brag factor :rotfl::lmao:
Seriously, fill two cars up and save $35 bucks or bring some gas cans. $35 bucks isn't chump change.
Cheers! °O°
