January 2020 Discounts

What is can ticket discount?
Cdn = Canadian
Canadian residents just got an offer for 20% off park tickets. It's going to save me US$400 more than Undercover Tourist would. Canadians have lost some ground against the US dollar, and I'm sure it has hurt Canadian bookings, so Disney sometimes makes offers like this to lure us in.
Depending on the size of your party, hotel chosen, etc., a room discount plus this discount could be as good as Free Dining.

I am an old DISer from back in the day, jumping back in to Disney life after divorce and other crap. HELP ME! I am headed with new hubz in January and need to be pointed in the direction of the "how to get in on the room deal/free dining/stay dine and play possible promotions" and how to book if they do come out on Tuesday. I am sure one of you dedicated peeps know the way much faster than my feeble search attempts...I have so many questions but I am sure they are all answered somewhere...

follow this thread and watch the Discounts boards around 7AM EDT, if/when a discount drops there will be so many posts that you won't be able to miss it. Check the Disney website around 7AM too.

The posts will most likely contain links to the discount page. Just click the links to compare your options and be ready to book on-line. That should be easier than calling.

So if you want to book with Visa card discount do you call Visa or still call Disney I'm curious to see if VISA discount is better than AP rate.

I'm starting to get anxiety over this. I always have issue with lodging online and tend to call when I get frustrated with it, but I know when things are in demand/limited... online gives the time advantage. I mean, I always use this logic for dining, but not sure why I get this way with resorts. I'm sure the easiest way to do the online thing is to just book a whole new trip under the discount, once released, and then cancel my existing one right after. I just have so much going on right now outside of this trip (as well as training for said trip) that is making it feel like a bigger deal than it probably is. And I know it's Disney, so I'm sure they will help get everything linked up with my friend's profile if I have to go about it this way. Still...making me stress! 🤪

My problem with booking new and cancelling old is that we already have our magic bands (we bought some upgrades, so already received them) and Magical Express set up. Will that mess things up?

You can just reset your magical express, not difficult, but I’d you wanted any of the upgraded bands then I can see where there could be an issue (but probably not). I still say the easiest way to do it is to go to your reservation on the website, click change reservation, and just change it. It’s simple, I’ve done it so many times, it’s really not that hard and these deals are really not as time sensitive as everyone thinks.

Looks like I’ll have to call. I have APs and my room & dining package can’t be changed online without wiping it totally out and calling to convert it to the special package again.

No biggie. Hmmm... maybe I could call and be on hold during my commute. :crazy:🚗
