"When I went it was all lights, and music, and Mickey doin' his magic." — Aug. '18 Disneyversary TR — Completed (Finally!!) August 20, 2021

Hi, friends! Isn't it crazy how quickly TRs grow up? I swear, you blink for one second, and a month and a half has passed! :rotfl:

For those of you who may have been wondering, yes, N and I did make it home from our trip! I promptly jumped straight into the last year of my master's. (I attended my first class approximately 7.5 hours after arriving home in Nova Scotia, to be exact.) I've been trying to do the whole duck thing ever since: keeping my cool on the surface, floating along, while below the waterline my feet are paddling furiously to keep up! *quack!* Just yesterday I finally got my pictures from our recent trip uploaded and sorted in order, though, so the eventual trip report is finally starting to become a possibility in my mind. We had an absolutely wonderful trip, managed to just dodge Hurricane Dorian a couple of times and race it up East Coast, only to have it make landfall in Nova Scotia and batter us here at home instead. I took excellent notes on a few of the trip days, and absolutely none whatsoever on other days, so the amount of detail (and/or truth) in the report will be a fun surprise for us all to experience together that will vary from one update to the next.

Now I just need to get this report written first... :scared: I've also managed to finally catch myself up on all the reports I've been following, so now none of your are allowed to write anything else for at least a few more minutes so I have time to catch my breath!

Have a great trip, stay healthy and... Happy Anniversary!!!

Thank you!! I managed to keep myself healthy...at least until the very end.

I hope you have a wonderful anniversary trip!! Fingers crossed N keeps that cold to himself and recovers quickly!

Thank you! He did kindly keep his germs to himself! And I don't think his cold put much of a damper on his trip, and only had him out of sorts for a few days. Really a much better outcome than I expected for both of us!

Have a great trip!!!!!

Thanks, Jenny! We did!

Stay safe, stay healthy and have an awesome trip!

Oh, and Happy Anniversary!!!

Thank you! We did have an awesome trip, and I even managed to mostly stay healthy. :)

Have a great trip & a happy anniversary!

Thanks, Raeven!

I know you're almost to WDW from your Facebook post! Have fun and enjoy Galaxy's Edge! I'm super jealous of all of you who get to go! I'll be living vicariously through all of you!

Thanks, Kelly! We had lots of fun, and getting to see Galaxy's Edge was definitely a highlight, especially for Nathan. :)

Happy Anniversary and have a wonderful trip!!!! :goodvibes :bounce: :flower1:

Thank you! We had a wonderful time!

I feel your pain!! Racing to finish mine too!! And trying to keep up on my new one!!

And now it's October. ...oops! :scared:

I kinda want to eat there!! It looks so well themed!

Mythos has been excellent for us in past. I'd definitely still recommend it.

You really did get a lot done in one day. Sorry you weren't feeling 100%. On that note I hope you stayed healthy for your current trip. Happy Belated Anniversary!

Thank you! I managed to stay reasonably health for almost the entire trip, which was a great blessing!

I am enjoying the pics from your current trip that you've been sharing. Yay for social media! Can't wait to hear all the details of another fabulous trip when you return! Have so much fun!

Thanks, Jackie! We had a wonderful time! Can't wait to share all the stories and pictures :)

I'm just now seeing this - I'm SO sorry! I would have loved to have coordinated something. Since we're both August travelers, hopefully our paths will cross in the future. I hope you had a wonderful time!!! :goodvibes

No worries! I meant to try to get in touch with you via social media and then life got in the way and I never got around to it. I'm sure we'll get another opportunity someday! Thank you! We had a wonderful trip!

I got so far behind on your trip report but I'm all caught up now. Have a safe trip and Happy Anniversary!! Your tattoo is beautiful, I hope you are able to show it off on your trip. Im sorry you had such bad luck with dining on this trip, hopefully it will be better this time. Congratulations on finishing your first internship!! You're getting so close.

Thanks so much! We had a wonderful trip! And I'm starting to feel like you're right about getting close to the end with this degree...one more semester in the classroom and one more internship, and then I'm out in the real world! Scary, but also exciting :)

I think I saw some pics on FB or IG but I hope it was a great anniversary!

It really was a great anniversary trip! Thanks, Kathy!

Hi Meghan!!! Are you back yet??? :P

Yes!! And finally back to the DIS, which is basically what matters the most!

Wow, you have been quite busy since your trip! I’m excited to read when you are able to finish this one and start the new one!!

Good luck with your school year! Very exciting for you!

Wow, welcome home! That sounds super relaxing! :P

Oh totally! Always good to roll into the school year nice and rested! The worst part was that it was the class I was required to audit, but not actually take for credit. So I'm required to be there, but not actually getting a mark for it. It's a three hour class, and the first day we were there for 25 minutes to go over the class outline, and then she sent us home. I didn't have another class for two days after that. I was definitely feeling great about my decision to rush home from WDW after that...NOT! :P

Wow, you have been quite busy since your trip! I’m excited to read when you are able to finish this one and start the new one!!

Good luck with your school year! Very exciting for you!

Thanks, Caroline! It should be a good year, and I'll be very excited when it's done! We had a great trip. (I'm so glad I got to see you and chat for a few minutes!) Can't wait to share about it!

Alright, folks! Let's get moving on this TR again! (I'm mostly here because it sounded like much more fun than writing a couple of papers.) Ooh, but before I begin, I wanted to share a couple of pictures of my precious little niece! I've been living with my family this semester so I wouldn't need to find a new apartment for only 4 months. It was very generous of them, and it has meant spending a lot more time watching my niece grow up, which is pretty sweet. We don't post her on traditional social media platforms like FB, etc., but I think I can make an exception to share a few of her adorable 2nd birthday photos with my favourite Dis-friends! While I am very much an amateur photographer, I'm happy with how a few of these came out.

Now, without further ado...

"I Don't Want To Go Anywhere With Snow, Or Anywhere Where I Don't Know What I'm Eating!"
Aug. 22—Part 1

When I left off last, we'd had a busy day at Universal Studios, and ended the night back at the Grand for a peaceful night's sleep. You may recall that I was starting to feel a bug coming on. I hoped that it wouldn't interfere too much with our trip. (When I get sick, I tend to have a hard time shaking it.) We were planning to spend this day at Sea World, which would be a first for N. I had been to Sea World as a 10 year-old, but not since. We started our morning, however, with breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe!

While we were waiting outside the restaurant to be called for our ADR, we noticed a couple, likely in their mid-to-late-30s, sitting at one of the little tables where the DVC and/or Adventures by Disney brochure books are set up. The woman was flipping through the book and imagining where they might take their next vacation, but she was VERY particular about it. Every time the man would suggest a location, she'd shoot it down for one reason or another. Food preferences came up a few times—she seemed to be a picky eater who preferred typical American cuisine. Eventually she laid out the ground rules for him: "I don't want to go anywhere with snow, or anywhere where I don't know what I'm eating!" Talk about a love of adventure! I mused that perhaps they should just continue to visit WDW to be on the safe side.

The GF Cafe is quite a treat for me as an allergy diner, because while many breakfast joints only serve allergy-friendly waffles, the GF Cafe also serves allergy-friendly pancakes! Sign me up!

qq5J2Xg.jpg

VCfxG3K.jpg

cri5SH7.jpg

I opted to have my pancakes served with pecans and mandarin oranges, as well as with pure maple syrup. (Spoiler alert for our recent August 2019 trip: I ordered this again, and they were actually able to do me one better and add the cranberries and specialty syrup this time around!)

N's breakfast of french toast, topped with strawberries, whipped cream, and sugar cookie crumbles, was decidedly less allergy-friendly.

kvb5qUi.jpg

By the time breakfast was through, I was already waning. I felt tired, headachy, stuffed up, and altogether pretty miserable. But Sea World was calling!! I really didn't want to miss it. for some extra context, we had considered going there the year before on our wedding trip and then swapped it out for something else. This time we had to make it happen!! I discussed it with N, and he managed to convince me to stay in instead and try to rest up and feel better. He did, however, decide that we are cursed on the Sea World front, and that we would never end up actually making it there. (Will that continue to be the case for our 2019 trip?? Stay tuned!!)

We went back to the hotel room, and N watched Disney cartoons and did whatever people without gross colds do, while I napped for about three hours.

When I finally emerged from my hibernation, I was beginning to feel a bit better than I had earlier in the day. I decided we should take the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom and wander about and see what we felt up to doing.

We continued our tradition of taking below-average quality selfies in front of the train station:

Z9b4d7h.jpg

Then we did a little pin shopping, including picking up some of the nesting doll mystery pin bags that I was obsessively collecting at the time. N also bought his first ever Disney pin of his very own that day, but now I'll be darned if I can remember what it was...

Then we walked over to Pinocchio's to split a couple of allergy-friendly kids' meals for lunch. We couldn't decide between chicken tenders and pepperoni pizza, so we got one of each. (I guess I really shouldn't judge the lady from the breakfast for her not-so-sophisticated palate! :lmao:) I don't have pictures, but they tasted like average decent quick service meals.

JIOyH4R.jpg

While we were in the area, I thought I might be up for a relatively slow-moving dark ride, so we went to set up a DAS for Peter Pan's Flight. This is where I have a note about a situation I actually remember very well. I was hanging out nearby (likely in the shade,) and N took our bands to the CM and asked to set up the DAS. She didn't refuse him, but she did treat him judgementally when he asked, saying, "but you're so young!"

...okay, folks. *Begin rant.* For anyone who may not have read a report where I've explained a bit about DAS before, or about why I use it, or the challenges associated with invisible disabilities, I'm just gonna veer off on a little education session/rant here about this. If you're not familiar with DAS, it stands for Disability Access Service, and it's used for any individual who has a disability/condition that affects their ability to wait in a traditional queue line, and that can't be accommodated by a mobility device (e.g. ECV, wheelchair, walker, brace, cane, etc., etc.,) The person still has to wait the same amount of time, but they can do it wherever they choose. They're given a return time, and any time after that they can return to the attraction and enter through the FP line. There can be a lot of reasons someone might benefit from DAS, and many of those reasons are things that may not be visible to the average stranger. For example, I have a chronic health condition, and I benefit from using DAS for multiple reasons, including that my symptoms can come on quickly and unexpectedly, I experience sensory issues beyond the average person in crowded/noisy environments, I'm heat-sensitive in a way that could suddenly derail my whole day...and for other reasons that are TMI for this board. Some other reasons that someone might benefit from using DAS might be having autism spectrum disorder, or multiple sclerosis, for example, but it depends entirely on the person and what their challenges are. None of these things require a person to be a particular age, or to have any kind of visible and/or physical disability. So you may understand my frustration when we run into situations like this where I feel as if someone is questioning the validity of my illness, or making me feel as if I am not entitled to the supports that are provided especially for individuals like me. I am sure that there are people out there who abuse the system, or who use DAS without needing it, but those people are few and far between compared to the folks who experience the daily challenges of living with a disability and who use the system honestly and fairly. And to that point, I get incredibly frustrated when individuals try to game the system, because it reflects poorly on all the rest of us who are using these kinds of supports properly and for the right reasons! But my little take-away from this rant, if there even is one, is that I think it's super important for employees to be well-educated on supports available and what's cool/not cool to say to someone who uses those supports, and also that if someone has an invisible illness or disability, they may "look fine" or appear healthy on the outside, but they know their situation much better than a stranger does. *End rant.*

After setting up the DAS with the you're-so-young lady, we went over to Frontierland for a little pin trading at the pin store there. Then we popped over to get a dole whip. I was wearing my birthday button, so the CM handed me this massive work of art, saying that they made it extra big for my birthday:

kZDeTlk.jpg

N was thrilled because I usually offer to share with him and then eat most of the dole whip myself, but this time I definitely needed his help to finish it all!

When our return time came around for the DAS for Peter Pan, we went and rode in our pixie-dusted pirate ship.

z9aFdjc.jpg

I was still feeling pretty under the weather and was losing steam fast. We had a late dinner planned for that night, so we decided to go back to the GF so I could rest again.

When we got back to our room it was being cleaned, so we found a couple of chairs downstairs and waited for a bit. Then we returned to the room for a rest, and I was amused to find our new towel swan lounging and watching a little tv:

iTakVM1.jpg

ay62SmE.jpg

I laid out my pin haul from the trip so far, and realized I'd managed to accumulate more pins than any Disney fan really needs. (Of course, I still managed to pick up more before the trip was out.)

77CDAZI.jpg

(Several of those were traders I'd brought from home, but many were pins I'd purchased or traded for in the parks.)

We rested for a bit, then decided to head down to the pool and swim. On our way back from the pool, we overheard a family leaving the pool with a little one who was refusing to hold the dad's hand. The dad came out with a quote that I almost used for this chapter title: "Okay, we'll just leave you to the gators and the snakes then." :rotfl: Nothing like a parent's love!

Our dinner ADR that night was for Narcoossee's (spelling? Nnaarrccoosseess? :P) Neither of us had ever eaten here, and I was excited for the intimate atmosphere and the fireworks view. We requested a table by the window when we arrived, but we were told that everyone goes outside to watch the fireworks so it wouldn't be worth it for us. We were promised that someone would let us know when we should go out, and would show us where to go. They were also running quite behind on their reservations. I don't remember how long we waited beyond our reservation time, but it was a good while. Like definitely more than 20 minutes. It seemed a little hectic in there that night, so we didn't put up a stink and just went with the flow.

Because of our anniversary and/or my birthday celebration, our table was decorated with Mickey confetti, which was a lovely touch!

xUaz0Et.jpg

o0VQsC5.jpg

We played with this confetti off and on while waiting for food.

jeNGwlG.jpg

^These are drinks.

rByuxyx.jpg

^That is bread and butter.

I like when butter has fancy salt on it. It seems a little inefficient to use unsalted butter just to then go and put salt on it, but it's super fancy-shmancy, as obviously am I, so I'm down with it.

Zc7ZCDT.jpg

^This is the solidly meh gluten free bread known as Deanna's gluten free gourmet dinner rolls. They were expectedly meh, and I lived on the wild side and stole some of N's fancy butter to make them more exciting #dairysensitivitybedarned!

N ordered mussels as his appetizer and enjoyed them quite a lot.

ZFAI2Lk.jpg

I ordered shrimp, which was served with some kind of assortment of micro-greens or something and mandarin oranges. It was perfectly nice, and the shrimp was cooked properly. I'm not sure if the non-allergy version was served with any kind of dressing or sauce or anything, but mine was reasonably good without, and the mandarins gave the salad-y stuff some moisture. (This is obviously why I don't write dining reports. ...That, and the fact that I'd never get them done.)

gu1vJT5.jpg

N and I both ordered surf and/or turf-type meals for our mains, since this was to be one of the more indulgent ADRs of our anniversary trip. N went with the full surf and turf, and I opted just for the lobster tail entree. Both dishes were perfectly acceptable, but whenever we order similar types of things it kind of highlights the differences between dining with and without allergies. Some restaurants at Disney absolutely shine when it comes to allergy dining, and some restaurants do something like this...

N's surf and turf:

IA7SUgh.jpg

And my lobster tail:

eWW2wkv.jpg

My dish was perfectly edible, but while N's lobster was perfectly moist and soft, mine was rubbery and overcooked. While I had told the server I could eat butter with my lobster, this was yet another instance of a restaurant refusing to give me any kind of dairy product because they must have felt they knew my sensitivities better than I did. :confused3 Being extra careful, I guess, which is better than not careful enough. My potatoes were kinda hard and dry as if they'd sat out for a while or been reheated. But the real star of the show was the asparagus!! Not sure whether it had been frozen, or they really just boiled that much of the life out of it! With no oil (except on the potatoes,) no seasoning of any kind, (not even salt and pepper,) no sauces, no nothin'. While I so appreciate being able to eat safely in a beautiful restaurant like a normal human being, I still can't help but feel just a little duped when I receive an expensive meal like this that really feels like a phoning-it-in situation. N's meal, on the other hand, was very enjoyable for him, and he'd absolutely go back again. Along with the previously-mentioned lobster tail, his steak was cooked perfectly to his liking, and the sides were tasty.

Before dessert was served, it was getting close to fireworks time. I won't go into too much detail about the process of getting out on the veranda to watch Happily Ever After, but let me just say that someone did NOT tell us when to go out there, and someone did NOT come over to us and let us onto the porch as we'd been promised. Shortly before the fireworks started, we (and the hilariously intoxicated couple waiting with us) noticed that many other people had already claimed spots on the veranda by entering it from the other side. We gave up on waiting for whoever we were supposed to be waiting for and just snuck up there with the rest of them. The view, however, was quite lovely! I didn't take many pictures, opting instead to just enjoy the moment with N, but here's one:

wejplRg.jpg

When we returned to our table after the fireworks, we were presented with this dessert: cut up fruit under some sorbet. It's the same fruit every restaurant/snack cart has, and the same sorbet, but I appreciated the attempt at some creative plating.

9XXB6ik.jpg

I can't remember whether N got his own dessert or shared mine, but I don't have any other photos. We paid our bill and headed back to our building to turn in for the night. All in all, our meal at Narcoossee's was reasonably enjoyable (specifically, N's far more than mine,) but other than the confetti on the table there just really wasn't anything special about it. For the price, I don't think we're inclined to go back any time soon. We'd much rather spend the same amount to eat at Citricos, which has been consistently excellent for us both. (Hopefully that still holds true after the changes that are coming there!) I won't say we wouldn't ever try Narcoossee's again someday, but there are many other places I'd rather go first.

I couldn't breathe through my nose at this point in the night, which N thought was incredibly adorable, and I thought was incredibly annoying. :headache: We both would need lots of rest, and I would need to zap this cold overnight, if we were going to be ready for the early and busy morning we'd have in store when we woke up!

Nice on the huge dole whip!

But that sucks about the meal. On the cruise we had someone who had an allergy (very mild), but the servers were so ultra careful. The last meal it was obvious how dry and bland her chicken was and the serving team really freaked out when they realized how disappointed she was. My sister now just doesn’t tell them about her pineapple allergy...

I laid out my pin haul from the trip so far, and realized I'd managed to accumulate more pins than any Disney fan really needs
Haha, that’s funny... I was going thru my pins from this summer and it was ridiculously large!

Sorry you felt so crummy this day and missed out on Sea World (again!) Glad you were able to squeeze some magic into your day though. I am always interested in reading about how the different restaurants accommodate your allergies. Sounds like this one was a bit of a bust....we've never eaten at Narcoossee's, but it's never really sounded like a must for us anyhow.

Hoping you started to feel better soon after this!

Ugh sucks being sick at Disney!! But sounds like you still got in some fun! Too bad Narcoosees wasn't better for you, but with so many great restaurants at Disney...why rush back to one you weren't thrilled with! Curious to know if you ever made it to Sea World...

Your niece is adorable!

I'm sorry you were feeling crappy and had to skip Sea World :(

That is a delicious looking dole whip!!

Glad you were up to spending a little time at MK!

I'm sorry your meal was not very tasty and didn't feel all that special.

Same though :rotfl: We have enough of that at home!

Oh I totally agree. About the snow in particular. I can see snow up to about 5 months out of the year in the comfort of my own home. I definitely won't wanna see it on vacation!

Ugh, I hate when they do this! We haven't had it happen too many times, but at Les Chefs in Epcot, Josh's meal was literally just chicken with nothing on it, not even on the potatoes :sad2:

Right!? Fortunately, they're usually pretty good. But ohhh dear...Les Chefs...I have fond memories of my plain unseasoned steak from there with a side of straight dijon mustard. (And I don't really even like dijon. At least not by itself.) Poor Josh! I feel his pain!

Nice on the huge dole whip!

The last meal it was obvious how dry and bland her chicken was and the serving team really freaked out when they realized how disappointed she was. Yeah, usually they're pretty good, but sometimes they're so extra careful that it really makes a meal really lame and bland. That sounds like a really bad experience she had. :(

Haha, that’s funny... I was going thru my pins from this summer and it was ridiculously large!

I think every trip it gets a little worse for me! haha This past August I tried my best to mostly just trade and not buy too many...but I still came home with more purchases than I'd planned. I bought so many mystery boxes of hugs and current mood pins! And then a couple of F&W pins...MNSSHP...and SWGE...etc.

What a great update!
Your niece is absolutely adorable!!!!
Your pin collection is amazing!!!!

Thanks so much! Yeah, she's a pretty fun girl! She keeps up on our toes, and she's always saying and doing the funniest things.

My pin collection is getting pretty ridiculous. I just love pins, always have. My grandmother and I used to pick up pins whenever we travelled somewhere when I was little to remember our trips by, or people would always bring a pin back for me when they went away somewhere. I love that they're detailed and pretty, but don't take up a lot of space in your home. This is my bulletin board with most of my Disney pin collection on it:

uM79K25.jpg

But that doesn't include my Merida collection or Animal Kingdom collection, which each make up probably 2-3 dozen more pins. And it's also missing my hidden Mickey pins, which I like to collect from cast members when we go to WDW. I have a problem. lol

Sorry you felt so crummy this day and missed out on Sea World (again!) Glad you were able to squeeze some magic into your day though. Hoping you started to feel better soon after this!

Thanks, Jackie! Spoiler alert: I did end up feeling a lot better the next day. And yeah, Narcoossee's was just ok. A lot of people really love it, and maybe if I hadn't had any food allergies we would have loved it too, but since there are so many options at WDW for a nice meal, we probably won't be back any time soon.

Ugh sucks being sick at Disney!! But sounds like you still got in some fun! Too bad Narcoosees wasn't better for you, but with so many great restaurants at Disney...why rush back to one you weren't thrilled with! Curious to know if you ever made it to Sea World...

It does suck being sick for sure, but we made the best of it! I totally agree—there are so many places to get a good meal at Disney. Why waste time and money on a place you don't love if you can try somewhere else instead!

Your niece is adorable!

I'm sorry you were feeling crappy and had to skip Sea World :(

That is a delicious looking dole whip!!

Glad you were up to spending a little time at MK!

I'm sorry your meal was not very tasty and didn't feel all that special.

Thanks! Despite the cold and the short day, we did still manage to have a lot of fun. Narcoossee's didn't quite stand up to our expectations, but it was fine, and now we've crossed it off our list.

Holy Moly that is a lot of pins!!!! I love that you have them in a way to display them all.

But Sea World was calling!! I really didn't want to miss it. for some extra context, we had considered going there the year before on our wedding trip and then swapped it out for something else. I feel like if you need a rest day, a Sea World Day is easy to skip. I mean, I am sure it is nice but still...

.That, and the fact that I'd never get them done.)

gu1vJT5.jpg
It looks nice and light.

Oh she is precious! So glad to hear you are able to spend lots of quality time with her. The early years go way too quick

Eventually she laid out the ground rules for him: "I don't want to go anywhere with snow, or anywhere where I don't know what I'm eating!" Talk about a love of adventure! I mused that perhaps they should just continue to visit WDW to be on the safe side.
So she will only eat at a McDonalds in the Southern part of the United States :confused3

cri5SH7.jpg

I opted to have my pancakes served with pecans and mandarin oranges, as well as with pure maple syrup. (Spoiler alert for our recent August 2019 trip: I ordered this again, and they were actually able to do me one better and add the cranberries and specialty syrup this time around!)
These are some of Jason's favorite pancakes ever. So happy to hear they were able to do an allergy friendly version for you

...okay, folks. *Begin rant.* For anyone who may not have read a report where I've explained a bit about DAS before, or about why I use it, or the challenges associated with invisible disabilities, I'm just gonna veer off on a little education session/rant here about this.
Rant well deserved. I know guest can be all judgmental but that from a cast member is wholly unacceptable

hen we popped over to get a dole whip. I was wearing my birthday button, so the CM handed me this massive work of art, saying that they made it extra big for my birthday:

kZDeTlk.jpg
Now that is what I want for my birthday

Our dinner ADR that night was for Narcoossee's (spelling? Nnaarrccoosseess?
I've found that if you load as many double vowels and consonants in there as you can its always spelled right

I'm not sure if the non-allergy version was served with any kind of dressing or sauce or anything, but mine was reasonably good without, and the mandarins gave the salad-y stuff some moisture. (This is obviously why I don't write dining reports. ...That, and the fact that I'd never get them done.)
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Now I suddenly want you to be a guest writer for one of my dining reports :D

While I had told the server I could eat butter with my lobster, this was yet another instance of a restaurant refusing to give me any kind of dairy product because they must have felt they knew my sensitivities better than I did. :confused3
Ugh. When you are paying that much for dinner that is just not acceptable. You should definitely have sent it back

ut the real star of the show was the asparagus!! Not sure whether it had been frozen, or they really just boiled that much of the life out of it! With no oil (except on the potatoes,) no seasoning of any kind, (not even salt and pepper,) no sauces, no nothin'. Mmm, now that asparagus sound delicious. Nothing like boiled no seasoned asparagus to really fancy up a $50+ dollar meal. Sorry it wasn't a great experience for you. We like Nnaarrccoossee''ss but it never seems to live up to other signature restaurants

Holy Moly that is a lot of pins!!!! I love that you have them in a way to display them all.

Yeah...I have a pin problem for sure. 😆 I love that I can show them off though. Nathan's an artist, so he thinks it's cool because it's almost like a work of art when you display them. A lot of my pins also come from trading, which is cool in and of itself, but also makes it a little more affordable. Most of the authentic pins we buy for trading are inexpensive, like less than $2 a pin, and then we just trade them for pins we actually want. :) It's definitely beefed up my collection since I started pin trading!

I feel like if you need a rest day, a Sea World Day is easy to skip. I mean, I am sure it is nice but still...

That's kind of what we were thinking too! If there's any day I was going to miss, I'm glad it was Sea World. Not that it's not a nice park, but it doesn't bother me to miss it as much.

Oh she is precious! So glad to hear you are able to spend lots of quality time with her. The early years go way too quick

She's so much fun! She's got a real sense of humour and an attitude, but she's also a real sweetheart. She's reaching a point now where she's super chatty and talks about everything that's happening often in basically full sentences, which is really exciting for me as someone studying to be a speech-language pathologist. :lovestruc

So she will only eat at a McDonalds in the Southern part of the United States :confused3

Seems about right! At least when she's going on vacation. lol

These are some of Jason's favorite pancakes ever. So happy to hear they were able to do an allergy friendly version for you

Soo yummy! I just really love breakfast.

Rant well deserved. I know guest can be all judgmental but that from a cast member is wholly unacceptable

Agreed. Sometimes guests are judgemental because they just don't know/understand. That doesn't ruffle my feathers. But this stuff should be taught in training if they expect CMs to be cool humans about it.

Now that is what I want for my birthday

#bestbirthdaypresentever Really for all gift-giving occasions from now on I just want a ginormous dole whip.

I've found that if you load as many double vowels and consonants in there as you can its always spelled right

:rotfl:pro tip.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Now I suddenly want you to be a guest writer for one of my dining reports :D

I'll happily oblige, but no guarantees that the content will be interesting or helpful or even slightly accurate for your readers. :P

Ugh. When you are paying that much for dinner that is just not acceptable. You should definitely have sent it back

I agree. I'm not usually super assertive at restaurants, but I really should have said something here. I think if I hadn't already been feeling tired and sick I might have. It was a pretty pitiful plate.

Mmm, now that asparagus sound delicious. Nothing like boiled no seasoned asparagus to really fancy up a $50+ dollar meal.

It's a shame because asparagus is one of my favourite veggies, so I would have been all over it if it hadn't been...well...gross. Meh. There are lots of other places to spend stupid amounts of money on food!

We had an absolutely wonderful trip
And that's what really counts, right?
I've also managed to finally catch myself up on all the reports I've been following,

Then you're way ahead of me!

"I don't want to go anywhere with snow, or anywhere where I don't know what I'm eating!" Talk about a love of adventure! I mused that perhaps they should just continue to visit WDW to be on the safe side.

Yeah, I mean why bother.

(I guess I really shouldn't judge the lady from the breakfast for her not-so-sophisticated palate! :lmao:)

"Okay, we'll just leave you to the gators and the snakes then." :rotfl: Nothing like a parent's love!

I think it's funny. I used to say stuff like that all the time and they always knew I was teasing.

^That is bread and butter.

:lmao: See below V:

but mine was reasonably good without, and the mandarins gave the salad-y stuff some moisture. (This is obviously why I don't write dining reports.
LOL! Yur fuh-nee!

I am sooooo far behind here. I know I kept up for a little while, but ouch...22 pages. I'll get there eventually Meghan...although you may be glad I've been gone. ;)
