**Villains After Hours - Magic Kingdom** FAQ & Discussion Thread

This will be our first AH event. I bought tickets to VAH for our June 2020 trip. I'm really excited to go. Just to clarify, this event is my ticket to the park. I can enter the park at 7pm and book Fast Passes from 7-10pm?

I choose to go to VAH on our "Magic Kingdom" day. So, this means that I could just go to Magic Kingdom a different day as well if I decided to not enter the parker earlier than 7pm. Our vacation package includes 5 day basic tickets.
Yes, you just need to make sure you enter at the VAH gate.

Also, you cannot double up on fastpasses. If you have fastpasses for earlier in the day, a VAH ticket doesn't get you 3 more,. If you are only using the VAH ticket that day, you can book fastpasses with it, but watch how the system treats it, sometimes there is a glitch and you can lose your last day of fastpasses.

Yep, you seem to have things right. You’ll enter the MK that evening through usually well-marked “event” tapstyles, which are usually the ones to the right (if facing the front entrance to the MK). It’s important that you do enter through these gates and not a non-event tapstyle as that will use one of your ticket days.

In practice, MK tends to start letting people in for these AH things more like 6pm, although that has waffled over time anywhere between 6-7, so keep an eye on the thread leading up to your event to see whatever the latest trend is at the time.

I bought tickets online yesterday, but I haven’t received anything by email yet. Do they mail you the tickets for VAH?

Not unless you specifically clicked that box on the delivery options.

Do you seem them listed under “Tickets & Passes” under MDE on the website?

No, but the charge is appearing on my credit card. Dang, I’m gonna have to call them aren’t I?

I’d maybe wait a bit, no sense in rushing to call. We sometimes hear reports of weird glitches and stuff when they release things, people flood the systems buying tickets, etc. They ‘should’ show up but it’s possible there’s just some temporary glitch.

Also log in / log out, try a different browser, Incognito/private browsing page, all that kind of stuff just in case.

Ok, thanks!

Thanks! Just got to decide if I want to use my basic park ticket and go to Magic Kingdom a different day or go to Magic Kingdom earlier in the day on the day of DAH. My kids are 9, 13, 14. I want them to be able to stay up and not be so tired for DAH.

Lol, yeah, that’s a constant struggle with us (mine are a bit younger) when it comes to the nighttime events. We usually do a park in the AM then a nap - or at least quiet/no energy time - in the afternoon. So hard to manage things!

We are staying at the Poly. Will monorail/boat transportation still be available for after the party?

So, for regular MK Disney After Hours, it has typically only been bus available back to Poly (shares with GF most of the time, but has shared with all of the MK resorts at times in the past).

For Villains After Hours this past summer, they did run the resort monorail (maybe boats too, I’m not sure, although I’m pretty sure they did) all the way through until after the event.

I’d keep an eye on the thread for updates once we start having VAH events next year to see what they are up to this time.

Of course at Poly, you always have the option to take the Ferry to the TTC, which will definitely be running .

We are myself, DH, and DD16. We normally do a park in the morning, grab a lunch and then go back to the hotel to relax. We leave around 5 to head to MK for a 6-7pm entry on a DAH ticket. For MVMCP or MNSSHP we usually just sleep in and head to the park as soon as they will let us in.

I just bought tickets for the May 14th event for myself and hubby. We are looking forward to try this AH version since we did the regular one this year.

How busy do people think the first event (Feb 7) will be? That's the only during my trip. I was really hoping for a regular DAH, but I think villains could be fun too. I just worry about the first event selling out and being crazy busy. But it isn't the first one *ever* so maybe it won't be as crazy with media/bloggers?

I have a question about the stage show scheduling. I noticed for some of the the stuff I had looked at that there appear to be 3 shows, but how do they work relative to the timing of the event? Do they do a show as the event ends like MNSSHP? Our event is 10-1. Any chance there will be a 1am show? or will they be 10, 11, and 12?
We might be going to the 4/3 VAH too!

I read a VAH review that said there was a stage show at 1:00, which they made the case extended the VAH special hours, because you could use the 3 scheduled hours for rides, then the show after "closing." Maybe that's changed? but it definitely used to be the way it was done.

I saw some reports of a 1 am show, but only on days where VAH ended at 2am. Have you seen a 1am show with a 1am close??
